    Worst Experience Imaginable

Overall it was a horrendous experience. Charged 2.5x what I was quoted, damaged items, didn't finish the job, had to hire more movers, had to move much myself, had to call on friends to help finish the job. All reasons I wanted to avoid by hiring professional movers. Edit : In response to your reply below. Now you are outright stating untruths. The discounts were $300 back in my account bringing the total to $1900 not $900 as you claim. And this has occurred ONLY after I filed a complaint with Better Business Bureau as up till that point you had failed to respond. I only wished to be charged concurrent with a level of service I received, which still has not happened. You did not unload the majority into the garage to keep costs down. They ran out of time and could not move the furniture outside to the downstairs as it had become dark and they had no lights. Safety of your crew and not cost was the issue. I had to hire other movers to finish moving it from the garage to the basement. If you believe $900 is where it should be at which is about right, please refund the further $1000.

    Answer from pro:

Hi Randy Thank you for taking the time to write a review about your moving experience. It is a suprise to us that you would write such a comment after we provided discounts towards your move, after we were not given all the details of your move which resulted in a much longer move and move expensive cost. In our email conversations, we did mention that to keep your costs from going even higher we unloaded a majority into your garage. In final, your move was quoted around $700.00 and your bill after your discounts was around $900.00, not $2200 which you indicate in your review. We have taken measures to ensure more onsite estimates to avoid these issues. Thank you Management

    Distance move

Very impressed. They were polite, efficient, and had everything unloaded in a quick manner. Impressed with their concern for the items they moved. Both movers were very professional. Well done to you both.

    Moving

We were moved by "Action Movers & Storage" last weekend .... a really great experience! They were highly recommended to us by our Realtor who had moved with them himself and had recommended them to a number of his clients. We found the packers and movers very pleasant to deal with and they were extremely fast, efficient and careful with all our possessions. As we were moving quite a lot of large heavy pieces of furniture we expected some egress and ingress difficulties but the movers experience was obvious. We are pleased to recommend them to anyone wanting a good moving experience. J & D White Rock, B.C.

    Moving Company

They were on time, careful and professional. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. We moved a 1200 square foot townhouse with a two car garage in a matter of hours. Unbelievable!

    Moving

We used action movers to move from our townhouse about 30 blocks away into a house in Surrey. The movers were on time and and couldn't have been more helpful. We weren't enitrely packed, so they helped us pack up the rest of our stuff, and get it to the next place super quick. Our dog became sick in the middle of our move, my wife and I both had to get to the vet with him and the movers took control of the entire move without there. We came back and everything was put away neat and tidy. The qoute that Mark gave us was exactly what we paid. We would use Action Movers again in a heartbeat. Craig.

    Townhouse move

Go somewhere else. Do more research. These guys are like second rate used car salesmen and they treat you like it. Yes I'm sure they've done some good but I used some guys through uhaul last year and they were amazing. Nothing scratched or broken. So I call up after reading a review on here stating the price was quoted low and then they were charged a ridiculous amount. Well I can attest to this. Talked to Bal, told him my situation. Financially don't have that much so I would need a move from downtown Vancouver townhouse, ( very simple in and out ) to a condo in New West ( more complicated but elevator on hold ) was guaranteed it wouldn't be over $700, repeatedly assured cause I had read the review. Told him the elevator was on hold from 12-3 on the Sunday. Let's get three guys to make sure we hit this time. Was told no problem, if they get to the new place early just send them for lunch etc... It was all fun and games. Seemed like a perfect fit. Stress gone. So 2 guys arrived late. Didn't get there till 9:30. Asked where the third was and was told someone called in sick and they pulled another guy off this job. I said we need him to get out of here on time. Then the calls began. Between the three of us must of called every one in the company. No one returned our calls. All day. So we leave the townhouse around 2 pm now. Missed the elevator. Pleaded with the property manager to allow us some time. Got charged off hour rate. Almost double. Was supposed to be back in can by 4 pm to do a final walkout of the townhouse as that would be the only time without anyone missing work. Yep. I had to miss work. Bal finally decided to get back to us around 4:30 ish? Sent one guy to help. Took about an hour. I had to help. So did my girlfriend. Keep in mind all this time the movers were trying to contact their personal friends to help out. Anyone. They said and I quote " if we had the three guys this morning we would of been done long ago " money would of been saved. $1000. Actually when Bal actually got back to the movers he told him flat out charge me the whole thing plus one hour at 3 man. He couldn't of cared less. I was told this is the way the company is. It's disturbing they run it like this. Bal acted all condescending saying he will discount it for me. To $1000. $300-$400 more than I was told. With the guys saying it should of been done HOURS ago!!! The final bill came to $994.98. I paid visa. They took $995. They will write a response in apparently an aggressive tone saying how this is all my fault. It wasn't. I have the movers to back me up. This just scratches the surface. Please do better research than me. Don't let this be you writing a review. Avoid. Why leave your hard earned money to chance. Cheers,

    Moving services and storage

The two guys arrived within 45 minutes of scheduled arrival time, and were polite, efficient and quick. Excellent service, very happy. Action Movers were one of only two moving company who were able to help with my complex move - picking up one day, storing for a week and re-delivering on the first day of the month... I'm a very happy customer.

    Relocation Moving Services

DO NOT USE this company!!! Despite their current business rating I found their services to be incredibly unprofessional. A man within their crew used foul language & seemed completely disinterested during the load-out. However it was the condition of my items when they arrived that has me most disturbed. I have photos from the transport company as well as the company that unloaded my items once they arrive at my home.I have damage furniture from dining room chairs, tables & home entertainment section that is close to $10,000 to replace. When we called to address this the representative David immediately sought to put blame on the transport company. He went as far as to state that his crew wasn't responsible for loading the trailer for transit, despite accepting the job to load it for transport & accepting accountability for the damage! BEWARE

    Answer from pro:

Thank you for the feedback. We are sorry to hear about your items being damaged. When you booked this job with us, you previous movers had bailed on you, resulting in a last minute booking. When our crew arrived within 2hrs of your call, our movers padded and wrapped everything for shipment. We were asked to deliver the items to a transport company to take over the shipment and deliver into the united states. Because you did not have the proper paperwork and inventory list, we had to unwrap the padding from the items and leave the items on the loading dock. Your wife signed off on the bill that everything was in excellent order. We cannot be held responsible once we have dropped the shipment at another vendor and they mishandled your shipment and neglected to properly protect your shipment. Your complaint should be with them, and not us. Thank you - Management.

    Storage and move

Paid for 3.5 years of storage at 1000.00 per month, everything delivered cover in mold and mildew, nothing usable and companies owner is on vacation and employees cannot address the issue one month after delivery of damaged possessions. Delivered items not belonging to me, lost over 20,000.00 of my property. No response from company owner in a month.

    Answer from pro:

this client had used several contractors to build his house, and we were contracted 3 years ago to move out certain items, the contractors either disposed of, or kept in there warehouse items that this client is complaining about. He has legal action against several of his contractors, and now is accusing us of lost property and items covered in mildew. We are still in contact and looking for resolutions for his complaints, but this complaint on Homestars is completely left field, especially with the cost of services of $400,000.00 ???

    Long Distance Move

I hired Action Movers for a 1 bedroom move from Vancouver to Calgary, based on positive online reviews, BBB rating and the competitive quote they offered. Unfortunately, my move was subcontracted to another company without my knowledge. The subcontracted company has an F rating on BBB due to many unresolved complaints. In the end the move turned out to be very stressful and more costly than the original estimate. Here are some of the things that happened: 1. subcontractor demanded payment right after they picked up my possessions 2. the moving cost was based on weight; however, the subcontractor admitted that they didn’t actually weigh the truck — the weight was determined by VISUAL INSPECTION. I suspect I was overcharged several hundred dollars, but it’s hard to argue when your possessions haven’t yet been delivered. subcontractors were vague about delivery dates 3. movers were almost comically unprofessional (the ones in Vancouver were independent) 4. no inventory of moved items 5. poor communication by both companies. No response to email, only phone calls Overall, it was a terrible experience. My advice is to ask any prospective moving company if they will subcontract any work, and if so look up the company they are using and do a bit of homework to make sure they aren't terrible. Reviews and ratings don’t mean anything if a different company is handling your move. I can’t recommend Action Movers based on this alone. Beware!
