    amazing movers

Thank you very much for the services of your movers: Adrian, Jason, and Miles. Everything worked out nicely on the day of the move and Miles was very good at co-ordinating everything. The 5-ton truck made a difference to making the move more convenient. It appeared at the initial stages of the move that the truck was too big, but as we went through the steps of loading the truck, making the journey across town, and then unloading; the larger truck was a blessing. Your guys worked hard and did a good job of making it all happen smoothly. It was a full day of work and not as easy a move as it first appeared. Thanks again. Allan

    Answer from pro:

thank you allan for your pleasant response. Miles and is crew are very hard working, and we are glad our office decided to send a larger truck to assist you than your original booking of a smaller truck, we hope you are enjoying the your new location.

    2 Bedroom move

From the very first phone call to Mark I was impressed. I was late booking a mover and they fit me in no problem. Richard and Phillip arrived promptly at 9am and got to work immediately without stopping till the job was done. They were friendly, kind, professional and amazing workers. I picked up free moving boxes a few days before and returned them a few days after. We will never move ourselves again. I highly recommend Action Movers!

    moving

I have done my fair share of moving in my time and I would like to thank Kyle and Paul for making this move in May of 2011 my best moving experience. Moving is stressful, that is a fact, but Kyle and Paul did everything they could to make the move easy on me. They were friendly, resourceful, helpful and very hard workers. With other moving companies, I have felt as though I had to keep a watchful eye on the movers to make sure things were going smoothly but not with these guys! They were considerate of my belongings, they worked well with my building caretaker and offered suggestions and solutions to any questions I had. Being the seasoned mover that I am, people will often ask me who they should use for their move, I feel more than confident in recommending Action Movers to my family, friends and colleagues. I'm sure I will be using them again in the future! Many thanks! Angelina

    Moving Service

Action Movers are a 1st class moving service for every job, large or small. They were hired to do a rather large job of moving my boss which included everything from packing, transport of possessions to unpacking on the other end over several days. They were highly organized with this monster job and even created a time line plus "action" plan. They finished ahead of time and on budget while providing extraordinary and caring service. Thank you for doing such an outstanding job!

    Move

AAA Action Movers were excellent. They did exactly what they said they would do and the men they sent were great. We used Bandstra last fall to move my parents and they were terrible. I would recommend these guys to anybody preparing to move.

moved from White Rock, BC to Elk Point, Alberta

The company was sold to new owners not long ago. My original quote, done physically after a walk through of my home, was $7500.00. My goods were held ransom unless I paid what was requested, double the original quote, only $250 short of $15,000.00 and that had to be paid by credit card only. If I did not pay this amount, they would not deliver my property. The driver was sent to Vancouver, along with a helper, from Calgary, and I was charged the air fare, hotel and expenses. The driver barely spoke English, read even less and the helper neither spoke, nor read English. My carefully done lists and diagrams meant nothing to them. They stacked fragile china under books, turned boxes upside down and put things wherever they felt like putting them. The damages were astronomical in breakage, scratches, and dents. Mirrors were shattered, china broken, light fixtures broken because of mishandling, the box of the box spring, which is hard maple, snapped in two and everything was filthy dirty. I also had to pay for the rental and fuel of a smaller truck because the driver was not confident enough to back into my yard. Goods were then offloaded from the big truck to the small truck and then offloaded anywhere they pleased. Action Movers would not answer my phone calls or emails and finally, did not respond to my registered letter. Do not use this company under any circumstances. During the move the employees loading were harassed by text messages and phone calls. They worked in unsafe conditions, loading the truck without lights and without a break to eat food or drink for longer than 12 hours. The manager did not bother to bring lights out after they requested them so I provided flashlights, which helped, but by no means were adequate. This company should be shut down.

homestars.com has been a great website to our company and allowing customers to view our testimonials. The downside to this website, is allowing customers to vent about issues that have more depth and detail then just what has been written on a website. Action movers moves across canada and the united states along with moving within BC. 30% of our bookings are long distance and we work to provide a careful and care-free moving service. The access to this customer was not very good, basing her move on her word that many items would be sold prior to the move, we estimated 10,000lbs. When our movers arrived, things were very UN-ORGANIZED, and we came to an early conclusion that the customers weight was more like 22,000lbs and almost all of the customers boxes were poorly packed. the comments regarding our drivers in Alberta and there language barrier is false, and the customer did not pay any fees to transport our employees back to vancouver. the customers new location was in Elk Point, and having a 53 foot semi, there was no safe paved road to access front door unload. We discounted, and tried to work with the customer as best as possible, and explained our insurance policy.

    Move into townhouse

I was going through this site and came across this company who I used for moving 2 years ago. Even though this move was a while ago, I wanted to post a review because this company made my last move so easy - and I'll never try moving without Action Movers again! I was surprised by the last review here, so I wanted to post about them. Action Movers showed up on-time with 2 movers at my old apartment and worked patiently with the elevators from the 26th floor. They had brought boxes and wardrobe boxes a week before, giving me plenty of time to pack. They tell you up front about how long things will take, and use realistic estimates for driving between destinations. It was also raining the day of the move, and at my new place, they took their shoes on and off each time they came into the house! This blew me away - not many many people in the service industry have this kind of courtesy. As a result, I've used them for even minor moves since - moving couches, picking things up from furniture stores and even moving things up and down within my house. The manager Mark is always responsive and solution-oriented. No job seems too big or too small for these guys! I recommend Action Movers to everyone I know.

We had a large move (because of how much "stuff" we had, but a very short distance (4 blocks)

We shopped around for a mover as we were trying to be dilegnet to reduce any damage as result of the move. We went with Action Movers (AM) because of their rate. In hind site we would have gone with our other choice. AM didn't keep to their word on moving fragile items. We had many broken items, including damaged art work because they removed the plastic wrapping before they came into the house. Our granite table top was broken due to oversight in packing up and moving into truck. They attempted this with 2 people (not nearly enough) and it wasn't protected as it should have been. The guy who fell off the narrow plank leading up to the truck was extremely lucky as the granite fell very near his head! After a long day of unloading, the fellow with the paperwork asked me to sign the bottom, very foolishly I did. We should not have until all the damage was taken care of but he said, "Don't worry, everything will be fine. We'll look after this" Well, it wasn't fine. To get started on the claim there was huge disagreement with their person in charge because I signed the form. On top of all this there was a $450 deductible (they call it admin charge) for the replacement/repairs. We had too much going on and the claim was getting further delayed and we never did get any settlement as we were sure they would not be cooperative so we have been out a granite table and have damaged frames to some expensive artwork. It made for a total inconvenience and a huge headache we didn't need as we had to deal with the aftermath of a move along with family health issues. Go with the pros...Action Movers are not! ** Movers: trying to justify our bad experience we had. Everything with this company was difficult. We tried to resolve but they were uncooperative and by the time we got to the insurance settlement it was into the next year and we pretty much wrote it off and they likely would have told us it was past the time we had to settle. For the record, we hired 3 movers AND they did NOT tell us we had to crate granite until they were are our house. The movers also told us it was ok as is when they were moving it.

    Answer from pro:

At Action Movers, we always appreciate any review, negative or positive. In the case of this customer, readers need to understand that this occured over a year ago. When booked, we were advised of a marble table and offered 3 movers. Only 2 were hired and as it states on our terms and conditions, marble tables do need to be crated or in solid packaging. Action Movers accepts responsibility for our mover slipping on the ramp and the table top breaking. We offered several solutions but nothing was good enough. We as a company have one of the highest insurance policies to help resolve matters quickly. As consumer choice award winners for "best moving company" we resolve situations in a timely manner, in this case, the customer was never satisfied and never contacted us to come to a settlement.

    couch move

I have never hired Action Movers yet but I will in the future and I will tell you why. A few years ago, I purchased a large sectional sofa and had it delivered to my downtown condo. When the delivery truck showed up, the head delivery guy insisted, after very little investigation, that my new sofa would never fit in the elevator and therefore would have to be returned (I’m sure the company he worked for would have loved to know how willing he was to have me return a sofa that represented thousands of dollars of revenue for the company). He didn’t even measure to double check if his instincts were correct. While I was arguing with him, a moving guy (from Action Movers) who was helping someone else move into my building overhead this discussion and offered to move my new sectional sofa into my unit for me and told the delivery guy just to leave it in the lobby. The delivery guy was not too happy which amused me and the sofa was left in the lobby. The Action Movers team had my sofa in my unit in 5 minutes and I tipped them accordingly for their unbelievable graciousness and service. I am a Real Estate Agent in Vancouver and will def. recommend them to my clients.
