    A/C and furnace

    I called Richard looking for a quote for a new ac unit and furnace. Richard came in and provided a reasonable quote. I felt very comfortable with his knowledge and trusted him completely to come and replace my existing units. His work was done quickly and very clean. I would recommend coretemp to anyone looking for new units or any trouble shooting.

    Sunday AC Service Call

    Called on a Saturday night when AC stopped working. Richard called back early Sunday, and said he's be over within the hour. About 20 minutes later, he arrived, found the problem within 5 minutes, and we had a plan for a solution in the next 5. Fast, professional, knowledgeable...very happy with everything from Coretemp! I will be using them again, without hesitation!

    New Furnace and Air Conditioner

    On a nice sunny but cold day in January we noticed that our house was getting increasingly colder. Our 20 year old furnace had blown its last breath of warm air. Of course it was a Sunday, so we wore our fleece sweaters, warmed the family room with the gas fireplace and baked dinner and cookies to warm up the kitchen. We did some research, decided to look into a Lennox system and then searched for an authorized dealer in the area. First thing Monday morning, I started the task of calling around for quotes. When I called Coretemp and spoke to Richard Payer, he was very pleasant, courteous and professional. To my surprise he was available to come right way to give us a quote. He was extremely knowledgeable and knew the Lennox products well. He was able to explain in detail every aspect of the new furnace and A/C and as an owner and technician he was able to answer all the technical questions that my husband had about the product specifications and the installation process. After some discussions on various options, Richard provided us with a very competitive quote and installation was scheduled for first thing the next morning. Richard and one of employees arrived by 7 am. Installation was extremely quick, efficient and clean. It was obvious that they both take pride their work. We were extremely pleased to have heat before noon that day and we have been extremely pleased with our new furnace all winter long. With the warmer weather hopefully around the corner, we are confident that we will be just as pleased with the new A/C as well. We highly recommend Richard Payer and Coretemp Heating and Air to anyone who needs the services of a heating and air conditioning company. Thank you Richard... job well done!

    New Furnace and Tankless Hot Water Heater

    I hired CoreTemp last year to install a new high-efficiency furnace and a new tankless hot water heater in my home. Though they did not provide the cheapest quote, I was happy with the estimate process and felt I'd be able to trust them. Being a tight install in a small house, Richard was clear about the difficulties and potential problems with installing the new piping. The actual install went smoothly, and 8 months later, both furnace and hot water heater are working like a charm. Throughout, the people of CoreTemp were courteous and trustworthy, and I'm happy to recommend them.

    Furnace and AC repair and installation

    Absolutely phenomenal service and experience! This company (Richard in particular) is honest, helpful and thoughtful. This review is long overdue. In November, our 20+ year old furnace stopped providing heat to our house just as the temperatures plunged to below freezing. We first called one of the "big local companies" to come out to service our unit. After billing us $140 for the service call, they said that we needed close to $2000 in repairs, but we were better off replacing the unit and quoted us a replacement cost of approx. $15,000 for the models we were looking at (while every other competitor was charging $8,500-$10,000 for the same units). I explained that we knew the units were old and needed to be replaced soon, but asked if there was anything that could be done to get us heat until the new units could be installed as I have a toddler, an expecting wife, and two pets that are home all day that require heat. The first company told me we were out of luck - there was nothing that could be done. I happened to come upon Coretemp by way of reading positive reviews, and wanted to just get another quote. Not only was Richard extremely friendly and helpful, but he took an enormous amount of time to answer my many questions, and to offer helpful suggestions. There was also no hint of pressure either. Richard gave us an extremely fair quote for the units we were interested in, and while not the absolute least expensive they were competitive with the lower end of the price scale, and were about $4,500 less expensive than the first company we were unfortunate enough to have called. What completely blew us away though was that although we just got a phone quote and were prepared to go ahead with the replacement anyway, Richard asked if he could come by (FROM HIS PLACE IN MISSISSAUGA, TO OUR PLACE IN PICKERING...ON THE WEEKEND...WITHOUT US HAVING PAID HIM ANYTHING!!!) to: a. get a first hand look of what the job entailed. b. to see if there was anything he could do to get my family some temporary heat as our indoor temperature was in the low 60's and dropping. Turns out we had been deceived by the previous company - within approx. 5 minutes, Richard had diagnosed and fixed the problem returning heat to our house until the replacement was done. Richard travelled considerable distance, on the weekend, didn't charge us, and actually risked losing a big sale by being honest and repairing the problem that plagued our system. This kind of honesty and integrity is sorely missing in the world today. As we already knew our system was overdue to be replaced, and had given us some problems in the past, even though Richard was able to get us our heat back, we decided then and there to get our new Lennox furnace and AC units through him, and he was back about a week later to replace our HVAC system. We cannot say enough good things about Coretemp (and enough bad things about the other guy), and would wholeheartedly endorse and recommend Coretemp to anyone in need of HVAC service/sales/repair.     New Furnace and A/C

    We called CoreTemp in early September 2015 to inspect our broken heater and A/C system. Richard came, identified the broken part and was even able to find a workaround to keep the system running until we could decide whether to proceed with the part replacement or to get a completely new system instead. Due to the high cost of the repair as well as the age of the furnace (28 years old) we decided to go with the latter. We started doing our research and quickly realized how important the actual design of a new the system was. The components, of course, needed to be of good quality but it was also very important that they were chosen wisely and work in harmony in order to provide a just right solution tailored to our home. The discussions we had with other companies, although resulting in very competitive pricing seemed rushed and heavily brand-focused. In the end we decided to call CoreTemp. Richard took the time to discuss with us in detail about every component of a the new system and impressed us with the depth of his knowledge and his genuine good will. We arrived at the just right solution through a couple of iterations. He even talked us out of choosing a more expensive configuration which was not optimal. In the end he even included a new high-performance thermostat for the same total price due to its dramatic impact on the overall performance. The installation was very quick (less than one day) and extremely clean. We are very happy with how the system performed so far during the fall and winter months and highly recommend Richard and CoreTemp. Update - summer 2016 At the beginning of the summer I called CoreTemp because the A/C unit could not start. Richard provided a quick response. The CoreTemp team came and started looking for the cause of the problem. It was a methodical process which took hours of hard work. All the equipment was checked in detail and found to be ok. In the end, the exterior electric cable was found to be interrupted (with no exterior sign of damage) and was promptly replaced. Richard showed dedication to providing such a high level of quality service. He did not charge anything for the repair since the defect occurred within the CoreTemp's initial warranty period of 1 year. We will definitely take advantage of the extended warranty offered by CoreTemp with annual inspections/renewal.

    Furnace repair

    I called Richard on a cold Sunday morning when I woke up in a freezing house with freezing children. He was so kind and giving of his time and asked me to run through a few things to help him assess the problem so he could get the parts ASAP. He called back several times to see if anything had changed. AMAZING service! He was at my home at 7AM Monday morning with the parts and was able to repair my furnace. His pricing is fair and his work is unparalleled. I wouldn't call anyone else but Coretemp.

    New Furnace & Air Conditioning

    Richard Payer, owner, technician and installer for Lennox Products along with his assistant Eric, completed installation of a new SLP Lennox Signature Series system last week. Prior to installation, Richard visited my home, provided a competitive "quote and work order" that fully explained the procedure he would follow and discussed any concerns or bloops the system may have. Professionally, Richard did exactly what he said he would do based upon his proposal, plus some. It was a pleasure dealing with someone who is qualified, knowledgeable and most important, competent. Additionally, my major wish was having a low decibel rating for the furnace; the SLP system is "dead quiet". Thank you Richard

    Furnace repair

    I woke up Sunday morning to a very cold house. Richard came over within the hour and diagnosed the problem. He was very knowledgable and took the time to explain exactly what was needed. It was time for a new furnace. I purchased a new one from him and it was installed within two days. Very professional. Would definitely recommend this company.

    Furnace Service

    When my furnace stop heating in the middle of a cold snap I called Coretemp for help and Richard was prompt, informative and professional; he explained the condition of my old furnace clearly and provided honest and thorough recommendations. Will use his services again in the future.
