    Furnace repair

I returned from vacation to a faulty furnace. I called CoreTemp and had the problem promptly diagnosed. I had arranged for another day for replacement of a part, but my furnace had other ideas and broke down on one of our coldest days. I e-mailed in the early morning and was immediately called by Richard, new appointment was arranged for that day and the furnace is now fixed and working. Absolutely would highly recommend them, fantastic service!

    Air Conditioning & Service

The team from CoreTemp is fantastic. We had a furnace installed in 2012 with rough in for the A/C which they promptly came back to install in spring 2013 and just last month an annual service call. They were excellent about helping with the rebates and diligently perform the ongoing service to maintain the warranty. The quality of service is fantastic and we absolutely love our modular unit which self-adjusts and keeps the house the perfect temperature.

    Service Call

How many heating and air companies will answer a service call on New Year's Day at 11am? Coretemp does! We woke up to a frigid house on New Year's Day and couldn't restart our furnace. We called Coretemp expecting to leave a message but the phone was answered immediately. A short while later our furnace was back on. Thanks Coretemp!

    Furnace repair

13 year old furnace needed a new exhaust fan. Everyone priced a repair so high that replacing the furnace looked like the only choice. I called Richard at 5pm and he said he could come the next morning. He arrived at 9am with the part which he fitted in 45 minutes. My old furnace has been keeping us warm ever since. Thanks Richard, I know who to call when it does come time to replace it.

    Furnace and A/C replacement

We had our furnace and air conditioning systems replaced by CoreTemp in June and were extremely satisfied with the quality of their products and services. After talking to Richard for a quote, we knew he would be the one we can count on to get the job done right. He was honest, polite and highly knowledgeable. A couple of days ago, a hugh storm plus extreme weather plugged up one of the ventilation pipes and prevented the furnace from generating proper heat . Due to the terrible road conditons, it would have taken Richard hours to get to our place to fix the problem. However he was able to walk us through the process of trouble shooting over the phone and got our furnace up and running again within minutes. We truly admire his expertise and quality of services and would highly recommend his company. We are so glad we chose CoreTemp knowing that any future calls will surely be taken cared of promptly and efficiently.

Replacement of Furnace and Hot Water Tank

My wife and I interviewed 4 heating companies and chose Coretemp to install a high efficiency furnace (Lennox SLP98UH070XV36B) and a tankless water heater (Rinnai RU98i). We are extremely glad we did as we are very satisfied with both products. The installation of both took place last April. At that time we were extremely impressed with the service and workmanship of Coretemp. We are writing this review now, as the new furnace was not used much last spring. We wanted to give Richard and his staff a truthful and superlative review which is only possible after having run the furnace for a couple of months in some really cold weather. Our house is 100 years old. It has three stories plus a basement. Anyone living in such a house knows how hard it is to get even heat distribution throughout the home and how hot the third floor can be when trying to heat the other floors appropriately. We don’t have this problem anymore. Richard suggested an upgrade from our mid-efficiency furnace to a high-efficiency one with variable-capacity. He sized the new unit correctly – the older one was oversized. Whereas the old furnace noisily and continuously cycled on/off thus blowing huge and noticeable gusts out the vents, the Lennox is extremely quiet and warms our rooms without gale force. We don’t have a problem with the third floor. Our house is amazingly comfortable. Concerning the installation of the Lennox, Richard is second to none. Richard made very little mess in the basement despite the finished ceiling – no mean feat as he ran 15 ft of air pipes to an outside wall and snaked condensate piping 20 ft to another utility room which had a drain. Lastly, we appreciated that Coretemp submitted the Ontario energy rebate forms on our behalf. Concerning the Rinnai which replaced a traditional hot water tank, we couldn’t be more satisfied. Richard assured us that the unit would provide ample water for our needs and that it would be very quiet (a consideration as it is beside a basement bedroom). This is so on both counts. He sized it correctly and hot water is more plentiful and continuous, and actually much quicker to obtain on the second floor than with the conventional tank. My wife was a bit dubious about going tankless but she is a believer now. Richard hired Tom at TMAC Heating and Air Conditioning to run the new gas line to the Rinnai. Again, another professional who is expert at his job. Tom ran the line outside the house, re-jigging the gas unit/meter to fit the pipe. The unit with additional pipe as well as the pipe running along the house in a mutual laneway are extremely unobtrusive and neat looking. We would hire Tom again if the need arose. It was a pleasure dealing with Coretemp, a family company which delivers what it promises and then some. The job was done when scheduled, on time, and at the quoted price. Richard himself did the installation with 2 assistants who were hard-working and polite and clearly respected and liked their employer. Any mess was cleaned up at the end of each day of our two day install. Richard could be reached by cell before and after the install to answer any questions or concerns. His wife, Janice, was a pleasure to deal with by email as she manages the office. We highly recommend Coretemp and wish everyone connected with it continued success.

    Thermostat Rewiring

Following an electrical rewiring of our home, our AC would go on when turned on our furnace. Our electricians insisted that it was a programming issue and NOT a wiring mistake on their part. Instead of contacting the HVAC company they suggested, we opted for Richard and CoreTemp due to our previous experience. Keeping consistent, Richard was timely and personable. He quickly diagnosed our situation to in fact be a wiring issue, and was able to not only fix the issue - he also upgraded our stat AT NO CHARGE with a sample he had kicking around in his truck. Richard will continue to be our #1 option when it comes to ANY of our AC / HVAC needs. Highly recommended without question to anyone.

    Furance problem

My furnace stopped working, called Core Temp for their 24/7 service, but Richard was on a job and couldn't accommodate us. He recommended we get some in the morning and closer in my area to avoid extra charges if he comes in a long way. However he stayed on the phone asking about the problem, walking me through troubleshooting steps till it actually worked again. He spent about 20 min helping me on the phone without expecting any return. Very helpful, very honest.

    New High Efficiency Furnace

In short - this is the second time we have purchased a Lennox furnace through Richard and it was another great experience. I highly recommend CoreTemp. For more detail: We told Richard that we needed a high efficiency furnace in our last house because we were going to be there forever. That was not the case because with two kids we ended up needing more space and moved Oakville. The new house was 30 years old and the furnace was OK. I had asked Richard to inspect it and make sure it was safe. He checked everything and said we should not have any issues. He noticed however that the venting was incorrect and recommended someone to fix the ductwork. His colleague arrived within a few days, confirmed that there was just some minor duct repairs needed and provided an estimate. He returned that week to start the work. To our dismay - he found that the venting was not to code once opened up and required about a $800 to re-route. Together with Richard we decided to invest the money in a new high efficiency Lennox furnace and tankless water heater (through another great company AlphaAire). His guidance and support was great. He also checked in with us during the installation to make sure everything was being done well in coordination with the water heater. Richard is sincere, helpful, considerate and it is a pleasure working him and Janice (who made sure we took advantage of any Lennox/Government rebates for a high efficiency furnace)
