One of the best things I did was to get Harry Persaud to refinish and restore an old buffet for my daughter & husband. The workmanship was outstanding from beginning to end. What really impressed me was Harry's attention to detail and keeping us informed at every stage of the process. Harry is a real gentleman, craftsman and in my opinion, in a class all by himself. I really encourage you to call Harry if you have furniture refinishing / restoration needs ... he makes old look new and beautiful ... he does it with a smile and a passion for his work. As you can tell from my writeup, I am a big fan of Harry's work and will use him again ... you will not be disappointed!!

Refinishing and restoring antique furniture is an art, and it seems to be something of a dying art. Not many folks in Toronto are expert at it and passionate about doing a job well. Harry is therefore a rare gem. He is the owner-operator of a family firm, and has an extraordinary work ethic together with an in-depth knowledge of all the elements of furniture restoration. I started out asking him to deal with a small number of pieces, and was sufficiently impressed that I added many more. Harry and his family members (not least his charming and hard-working wife) therefore did the following: refinished a dining room table and chairs, made many repairs to the chairs, and re-upholstered them; removed a bad water mark on a walnut occasional table and refinished it; cleaned the fabric on an antique sofa, re-glued all the major joints, and replaced the springs and horse-hair with modern seating; stripped down and brilliantly restored a heavily painted captain's chair; and repaired and refinished two turn-of-the-century dressers. The work was utterly meticulous. His pricing exactly followed the quotes -- and was extremely reasonable. Bottom line: A clear 10. And I'm already thinking about more items to send his way... Based on the reviews on the internet, I contacted Harry to refinish a curio cabinet I bought from an estate sale. Harry did an excellent job, was very reasonable in price as compared to other companies. He arranged pickup and delivery on time. Great customer service and a pleasure to deal with. Six things we especially appreciated with the service provided by «Harry’s Furniture Refinishing» : 1. The final price was very close to the estimated price. 2. The price was reasonable, so we accepted it without any haggling. 3. The movers came when we were told they would come, which is important to us since we have to reserve the service elevator. 4. The work was done within the time limits. 5. The work was very professionally done. 6. We provided a «colour chart» and the furniture came back in the colour we chose. I needed a piece of furniture refinished quickly. Based on Homestars reviews, I called a number of companies. Harry was the only one who could promise the job would be done on my schedule. He didn't disappoint. In fact, the piece looked brand new when I picked it up.

Harry's did a great job finishing and repairing an old Victrola cabinet to be used as a bathroom vanity. They came to see it, gave us a quote, picked up the cabinet, did the work for the agreed price, and we are extremely happy with the results and the service! They obviously know their furniture and finishes, and take a great deal of pride in a job well done!

I found A. Harry's Furniture on Homestars and my experience mirrored that of others who provided reviews. Harry assessed the damage and provided a fair estimate to repair and refinish our coffee table. The glass had fallen through and the finish was scratched. He stripped the table down and then re-stained it. Along the way he provided honest, professional advice and guidance which was greatly appreciated. He completed the work on time, on budget and exceeding our expectations, you can't do better than that. I would recommend him to everyone.
