    New roofing shingles installed

    We wanted to replace our old asphalt shingles with something a little better and decided to go with synthetic slate. Our house is small, and we had a hard time finding a contractor who was willing to do the work. Royal York Roofing Ltd did a great job for us and it has resulted in an excellent upgrade to our property. The cost was as estimated. The crew worked diligently and cleaned up every day. We are very happy with the result and recommend this company highly.

    New shingled roof on a high, steep pitched heritage house

    The job was quite difficult due to limited space to work and an extremely high roof and I needed to have it done at the worse time of year due to wanting to protect my front flower garden. The job was completed in 2 days. Garden was fully protected, and the clean-up was amazing. The team of 7-10 men were here at most times and every thing went smoothly--aside from watching them work at such terrifying heights! Price was fair and there were no surprises.

    roof shingles

    Courteous phone reception. Knowledgeable sales rep. Quick, professional and tidy work crew. Am going to have them do my son's house too. High quality materials, fair price and good follow-up.

    New Roof

    I would highly recommend Royal York for your roofing needs - they have been a pleasure to work with since day one. We needed a new shingle roof, in addition to new eavestroughs and gutter guards. We received 5 estimates and Royal York's quote was excellent. Additionally, their timing was great - work began not too long after the initial meeting, and RYR was able to fit the job in right after much of the snow had cleared in March, allowing us to beat all the April showers. Many other companies were not willing to begin this early, or had wanted to complete the job several weeks later. They documented everything clearly, from pricing to photographing the condition of the roof structure all the way through to completion. Additionally, a small crew returned in a timely manner to perfect a few items that needed touch-ups including some sealant on some eaves. Bruce and Pavel are trustworthy, fair and professional, and they worked hard to give us the best value along with high quality work. I would definitely recommend getting an estimate from Royal York Roofing if you're in need of a roof in the GTA. Great roofers.

    Roofing and eaves

    These guys did a very professional job. Clean up was great. They were fast and efficient. Bruce Windsor gave a solid quote which was very competitive with other roofers. Great work. I recommend this company.

    Copper roofing - punctured my shingles!

    Royal York Roofing did a very nice looking copper roof on the turret of my house. The service was very good, the neighbours were complimentary ... I felt like a winner. Royal York even called me to offer a $20 gift certificate for my favourable Homestars review! Then a few months later I noticed water stains appeared on the brick below the gable. On closer inspection, we were stunned to find a half dozen circular punctures right through our shingles and membrane underneath. Turned out their subcontractor had not installed their working apparatus properly using jacks on planks, but nailed right into the roof itself. Talk about crazy! Royal York acknowledged the screw-up and replaced the shingles, but the problem only got moderately better. I had someone else replace the entire roof section at my own cost, and the problem went away. So not sure these guys have proper quality control. Don't recommend.

    Dear Customer, Although your original Homestars review was "favourable", we've never asked for it to be such. We ask our customers to write a review after each job. If they do write one, we used to send a small gift certificate as a token of appreciation for the time taken. We do thank you for your review as well. When you reported the problem with punctured shingles we attended the property and replaced them (just three pieces of shingles). We also explained, that those tiny punctures did not cause the leak as the ice & water shield membrane and asphalt shingles were self sealing. Moreover, the punctures were caulked. Also, it was fairly obvious where the leak was really coming from. It was through the area where your shingle roof met clay tile turret. The contractors who did your shingle roof did not know how to work with clay. They damaged your tiles and were unable to replace old step flashings. There were finger size holes and gaps all along the connection. This explains why the shingles replacement did not fix the problem. We presented to you the pictures of your step flashings and clay tiles and explained the situation. It was us who suggested to replace the roof section entirely to fix the issue. We still have those photos. Unfortunately, we can't post them as Homestars does not provide such an option. We were contracted to install new copper roof to your turret and we are proud of our workmanship quality there. We took full responsibility and fixed the minor damage to the shingles caused by scaffolding setup. However, we can't be responsible for the rest of the roof that was installed by other contractors.     New Roof

    After researching roofing companies online and getting numerous estimates, Royal York Roofing was the best option without a doubt. Royal York Roofing has been an extremely professional company that started and completed the job earlier than expected. They have been honest, easy to contact, and easy to work with. It was refreshing in the renovation industry to work with Bruce, Pavel and RYR. We are so pleased with the results! The roof looks amazing! I would highly recommend them to anyone that needs roofing.     Flat roof replacement

    They are an excellent company to work with. The crew were highly skilled and capable. They were very accomadating with on site requests. Bruce Windsor was a pleasure to deal with throughout the project. I highly recommend them. GW

    New roof

    Overall, we are pleased with the outcome of the work. There were a few issues when they first finished. We contacted and requested the company to fix them. The company was quite responsive and fixed them within a week. The majority of workers were respectful and very polite. Overall, it's quite a good company to work with. Carl and You-Ta

    Flat Roof, slanted roof, chimney rebuild & skylight

    My flat roof had hit the end of its lifespan, so I got 4 quotes and ended up settling on Royal York Roofing. The deciding factor for me was Bruce who came to quote the job. His no nonsense and honest style won me over... RYR was not the cheapest or most expensive, but I felt most confident with the info and detail that Bruce gave me. The work that was done was quality work and accomplished in the quoted timeframe... I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them and in fact have done so twice already. Thanks Bruce it was a pleasure.
