    Clogged drain

Camilo was assigned my problem and arrived exactly when promised. Being respectful of one's budget he outlined different options that might fix the problem and explained them in a way that I could understand. Camilo was very knowledgeable and courteous and left me with a feeling he could be trusted. In the end the problem was far more serious and the drain guys were assigned the task. Camilo came back another day to meet with the drain guys to explain the problem first hand. Wade and Mike, also very friendly and courteous, solved the rather challenging problem. Between Camilo, Wade and Mike, they brought my plumbing up to code with problem solved. For my budget, this was an expensive fix, but I am certain it was totally necessary and fairly priced. This is the 4th time Bosco solved my plumbing issues and always left me satisfied. I have in the past referred them to other family members with positive feedback.

    Frozen pipe

We had an emergency with water that stopped working at the house. We had Andrew M come on site the same day (in the evening) and he quickly got us up to speed on the issue and got started on the fix. Andrew was very professional and I wouldn't hesitate to call him again for plumbing issues and recommend him. Overall we were very happy he was able to thaw the piping and also fix a couple of leaks caused by ice damage expediently and give us pointers on preventing it from happening again as well as some good ideas in overall improvement of the plumbing in the home.

    furnace supply and installed

Excellent service from Marcello. Furnace 101 lesson and then we looked at the costing. Reduced the price somewhat and decided on the higher end with financing. Crew arrived on time the next morning. My wife was very happy with the courtesy and professionalism of the technicians (Chris). Marcello checked in and spent some time with my wife after the install. I came home to a new furnace, it was much smaller then i expected. But the work was very neat and clean (no tubes or hoses). Moved the intake vent from inside the room to the outside, something i forgot to bring up and Bosco took care of it anyways. Good to see professionalism happening without having to ask. Very impressed all around, highly recommended. And now i have a comfy home again.

Replace shut off valve & toilet fill valve

Overall, I was satisfied with the quality of the work and the repairman was polite and friendly. However, it is important that you are clear about the problem you are trying to fix, the scope of work you are prepared to pay for, and (with yourself anyway) your budget for the work. The Bosco repairman will likely prepare a scope of work that exceeds these parameters, but if you are clear about what you want and direct him/her accordingly, you’ll be happy with the outcome. For a time, I felt that the cost of the work exceeded the value. However, after reading my initial review, Luis Furtado of Bosco contacted me (see their comments below) and set about to change my perspective. He did that by adjusting the cost to reflect the work performed. I left that conversation with the feeling that Bosco cared about my opinion and was willing to ‘make it right’. My adjusted review reflects their sincere interest in ensuring my experience with their firm was a positive one.

    toilet repair/main water valve replaced

Dan Keating arrived on time. He was able to assess the problems and fixed everything. We were very satisfied with his work. He also made some suggestions for future consideration.

    HVAC

We have a gold "partner's service agreement" with Bosco which comes with an annual fee. We were unfortunate to have our furnace cut out overnight. The technician found a loose wire was the problem and had to ring his manager to find out what he should charge me to repair it. After telling me he could fix it for $150 + tax, I asked him to leave and repaired it myself with a $0.10 electrical end connector. When my "partner service agreement" lapses, I will be looking elsewhere.

    Service

If you believe in paying for services that will deliver on time, you should find someone else. For those reviews that stated Bosco is on time, well you are the lucky ones. I used their service twice, one for the furnace and second was plumbing. Twice someone called to reschedule at the last hour. First one was rescheduled but I had some days off to accommodate. Second time again (I did contemplate to get them again but all these reviews made me thought that was an odd ball), true to my intuition, someone called and tried to reschedule at the last hour but I put my foot down because we had taken a half day off and without a kitchen for 4 days now. While I was told a technician will arrive between the hours promised, when i phoned to confirm because he hasn't shown, I was told by the dispatcher that IF someone is available she will phone me and cannot guaranteed that the work could be completed that night. She actually asked me if I knew what materials they will need to get the job done...my response, I'm not a plumber. To reschedule mean I have to pay the 49 bucks for the visit, a few more days without a kitchen, and a high potential that someone will call me and reschedule for a later day. It was now 7:30 pm - i cancelled. She did not even apologize for the inconvenience but actually trying to get me to rescheduled as if it was my fault for not agreeing to reschedule the first time. If I'm paying money for a service, I expect them to meet their obligations. While I am satisfied with the technician's work for my first service, the company accountability is equally as important when scheduling services and ensuring services are delivered on time. If you want to reschedule, call 48 hrs before the day, not the last hour when someone is suppose to arrive. People have jobs.

    Clogged Drain

Dan showed up and after we described the problem, he immediately began to upsell. Telling us we would need to replace this and replace that. He showed no concern when it was explained to him that the 86 year old home owner was on a fixed income and merely just wanted her drain unclogged. Replacing pipes & hoses and selling us a $75.00 plumbing membership on top of all of the work he wanted to do was not a financial option for her. He was sent away with his $56.00 service fee without doing a thing for us, other than wasting our time. Called another plumbing company the next day and in less than hour , the pipes were snaked, nothing needed replacing as Dan had tried to sell us, and LESS than 1/3 of the price of Bosco's estimate, problem was fixed. Would not ever recommend this company to anyone.
