I got the number for this company from my coworker, who used their services in the past and highly praised their work once I shared my leaky basement situation. I did plenty of research and was really impressed with what I have found and have read. I was looking to have the problem fixed before fall and I was not looking just for a quote - I was serious about having the repairs were done by the right men. Boy, was I right to call Umbrella Waterproofing, they are really stand up guys/company. The work was very meticulous, they took time and care to do the job right, used quality materials and hey did finish everything on time. Three months have passed and the basement rooms are dry and free of any signs of moisture. I am very grateful to Umbrella for their work.

Umbrella performed waterproofing repairs on our property in April and with all the showers we have had this spring and summer the moisture in our basement subsided and the walls dried entirely. They were a real pleasure to work with. All staff members were very professional and friendly. When I had to move scheduled work start date the receptionist was understanding and accommodated without a question. They made us feel very comfortable from start to finish and I had no doubt that I made the right choice hiring Umbrella for the job. We also asked them to perform several plumbing repairs (fixing a faucet outside for the hose line, installing new vanity and replacing original and old galvanized pipes with plastic ones) which were done very professionally as well. Their work is very solid and I am certain I picked the best of the best.

The team from Umbrella came by with a moisture detector and checked all areas of my basement during the initial visit for the estimate. Having isolated where the leak originated I was able to obtain a quote on the cost of repair. The quote was as good or better than the other 2 quotes I received. The team showed up on time, did the job and in 90 days time (as agreed) out the outside patio stones back in place. We have had no leaks since the work was done. All in all a great experience, the patio stones could have been laid a little better.

This spring we noticed some water in isolated areas on our basement floor near baseboards. We called family friend - a handyman to take a look and he suggested seeking professional expertise from a waterproofing company. When asked about anyone reliable and highly recommended he suggested looking up Umbrella Waterproofing. We did some research and called them immediately to schedule an estimate. The expert from umbrella waterproofing was prompt and very thorough. He was generous with his time and with his advice – we were highly impressed with him. When umbrella’s crew began the work, they have exposed the foundation wall, which has been previously waterproofed by previous owners (I must mention that when we have purchased our house approx 3 years ago it had been already waterproofed, which added the value to the property). It was evident that old waterproofing was inefficient and with many defects because it was done in patches or pieces, was uneven throughout and the exposed foundation wall was damaged with cracks, perforations and had not proper treatment done to it. Umbrella checked the weeping tile to ensure there were no obstructions to the flow. Umbrella’s crew applied proper treatment to the walls and used brand new high quality materials, ensuring that it was perfectly sealed. We also asked them to check our drains. One evening they stayed up late to finish up before the storm. We even have received a follow up call from their office to check if we were happy with everything. Now, that’s a superb customer service. We are thankful to and very happy with umbrellas guys their work and great service!

Vlad and his team helped us immensely – not only they diagnosed the source of the problem correctly but they tackled the issue effectively and on time. I have interviewed many companies and found that umbrella lived up to its promises and to many great reviews on homestars. Their work was immaculate and a definite 10 out of 10. When Vlad came to do the moisture diagnostic during the free estimate he pointed out the issues in the foundation. We were doing renovations and the existing drywall had to go; upon exposing the walls I indeed saw the cracks and the signs of effervescence that Vlad has predicted would be the cause of the damp carpet near that wall. My husband called umbrella at once and we’ve arranged the time for exterior waterproofing. Dealing with umbrella’s team was a breeze and nothing but pleasure. I would highly recommend them

Umbrella was our pick when interviewing top waterproofing contractors in Richmond Hill for exterior waterproofing project. We had problems with backed up drain and needed an inspection asap. Close friend gave us Umbrella’s number highly recommending them. Their technician came on a short notice and after the camera inspection of the main sewer line it was evident that roots penetrated and damaged the system. We wanted Umbrella to fix the problem. We had a good feeling about them from the get-go - from the first conversation with their office on the phone – and onward. Proposed repair costs were fair; and their receptionist accommodated my husband’s and my busy schedules wonderfully. The job consisted of repairs and installation, requiring excavation and replacement of damaged clay pipes and damaged cleanout section, and provision of new double clean outs. They outlined the steps of the job in detail leaving no room for questions. Before work was done our property was protected with tarps and upon completion of exceptionally well done job everything was cleaned and very tidy. The results were so neat it was hard to tell that something was dug up on our property- very professional! I had issues with water seeping into my finished basement floor and called several waterproofing companies to inspect and provide estimates for possible repair. I liked that Umbrella Waterproofing followed up immediately when I first called about an appointment. I liked that Vlad, co-owner, called to advise when to expect him. Vlad assessed the situation and quickly went to work showing what may have caused the problem. He only charged me for the use of a camera to go through the pipes. I expected to be told they would have to make some major repairs. Instead he told me that the problem was minor and made simple suggestions for fixing the problem. I found him to be quite thorough. For example, as he made his investigation, he would tell me in passing that he was going to check the moisture level in the basement after he finished his investigation. We went outside the house, found the problem, and told me what needed to be done. I thought that was the end and I had forgotten about the moisture check but he did not. Vlad cleaned up any mess made. More importantly, he volunteered to fix a small problem at no additional charge when he happened to be in my area again. His assistant, Vedania, followed up with me to ensure that the minor work would be completed and they did it so professionally as if it was a major job. Umbrella was the first company to check my basement. I cancelled all the other waterproofing companies I had made appointments with. I am not going anywhere else should a need arise again. I recommend Umbrella Waterproofing not only for their know-how and professionalism but also for going above and beyond the work required.

There are reasons why Vlad and his crew earn so many 10/10 reviews. Work was done as promised, excellent and courteous workers, and terrific clean-up at the end of the job. Their price was very fair given the exceptional quality of their work and the peace of mind this gives. I would absolutely hire them again!

very thorough estimate from Vlad. His trustworthiness and knowledge were clear from the start, plus his quote for the work couldn't be beat. The crew did the work to install the weeping tile on the inside of our house in the basement quickly, to a high degree of quality, and cleaned up thoroughly.
