It is rare to have an experience with a contractor to equal the one we just had with Bryan Verhulp and his outstanding team at Ring Electric. Bryan’s commitment to excellence is reflected in every individual he sends out to perform a job. At the insistence of our insurance company, we had our entire house rewired - complete with new electrical panel, meter base and mast. We also added upgrades including LED pot lights, recommended by Bryan, and worth every penny. The job proved to be challenging and onerous. No matter the obstacle, the team remained calm, professional, courteous and focused. We never had a moment’s uncertainty that problems would not be solved. Bryan was on site on a regular basis for consultation and guidance; his initial quote was accurate and detailed; and the work was performed in record time. Many thanks to James, Wade, Aaron and Trevor for their patience and persistence in getting the job done. Ring Electric was a pleasure to deal with, from start to finish. We highly recommend them.

We hired Ring Electric to fix the electrical issues that were found in the home inspection when we bought our house in December 2012. A team of people came to do the work so it was done quickly. Everyone we dealt with was friendly and professional, and the cost was reasonable. They fixed a loose receptacle and a reverse-polarity outlet, changed some plugs, fixed an oddly-wired 3-way switch and a mystery switched outlet, fixed a double-fed circuit, moved our furnace switch, bonded the gas line, replaced the dryer breaker, repaired an open junction box, installed a GFI and new outdoor cover for our backyard outlet. We'll definitely hire them again if/when we need electrical services in future.

Very impressed with Bryan and his crew. They came in to rewire some 3-way/4-way switches and give us a quote on a full electrical panel upgrade. I would absolutely recommend.

Rewired a bungalow with aluminum wiring and botched electrical repairs. Ring came in without an electric plan and mapped everything out in a walk through. Big crew worked VERY fast. In a gutting project full of landmines, Ring service was extremely accommodating, honest and reliable. LED pot lights live up to the hype - we put them everywhere.

Bryan, James and their team totally exceeded our expectations. They were professional, prompt, and the house was always clean at the end of the day. James always had great advice and suggestions that we wouldn't have thought of and everyone on the team was extremely helpful. Bryan (owner) is so easy to work with. He answers questions and returns emails very quickly! James, Trevor, Aaron and Wade came to complete the work and they were amazing, professional, knowledgable, punctual and efficient. They completed the work quickly (just under 5 hours and considering they worked on every socket, switch, light fixture as well as adding a light and a dishwasher plug, I would say that's quick!) and left the house in perfect condition. The electrical inspection (two days later) passed with flying colours! If you need an electrician who you can trust, Ring Electric is the company to go to! We recently bought a 100 year old home in Hintonburg. During the inspection a lot of electrical issues were discovered. I called Brian in to come and take a look and get an estimate. He was prompt, professional, and gave me a good run down of costs and the work required to get everything up to code. He and his team were excellent, they worked very hard, for 4-5 full days, and always cleaned up at the end of every day. The work included: - New electrical service - Moved the meter outside - Put in a new electrical panel - All new plugs and switches - New light fixtures - Rewired the kitchen (was botched in a previous reno) - Whole house surge protection - Along with a bunch of other little items. Basically everything was changed except for the actual wire. I would not hesitate to recommend Bryan and Ring Electric for any electrical work.

I cannot say enough good things about this company - they exceeded all my expectations. I had a long list of repairs to be done on our recently purchased house generated by our building inspector. One was a dangerous exterior problem that involved Hydro Ottawa cutting the power to our home while the repair was done. I called 3 companies and got quotes and Ring was not the most expensive quote. When reviewing the services and costs I noted the charge for Ottawa Hydro ranged from 450.00 to over 600.00 between the three quotes, Ring's was the lowest and the only one included in the quote (making Ring's total the lowest overall cost.) I liked the fact that Ring Electric would look after all the coordination with Hydro Ottawa, and cover payment to Hydro and I would not have to do a thing. They also had high recommendations on Homestars, so I hired them. They set the first date Hydro Ottawa had available, let me know what time period our house would have no power, and three electricians arrived promptly that morning. After a rundown of the to do list and a few more items I had added (such as lighting installation) they got to work and did a bang-up job. They consulted me on outlet placement, fixtures and preferences, and made sure I got exactly what I wanted. I added several more items throughout the day and each one they happily did, no humming and hawing like I have experienced from other companies about the change of plans and add ons. They were eager to do the extra services. Another member of Ring Electric dropped by at one point in the day and without me even asking, he made an excellent recommendation for lighting in a room that has been bothering me since we moved in. He nailed the problem in the room and had the perfect solution. He even offered to have the crew do the work right then and there - which would have kept the them there way past dinner time! The crew were professional, friendly, courteous, and respectful from start to finish and I would highly recommed Ring Electric to anyone needing any kind of electrical work. I will definitely get them back soon to do the recommended changes in the bothersome room (the crew was so nice I didn't want to make them work past dinner that day) and anything else I can dream up for our house's lighting. I had expected with all the additional switches, plugs and light fixtures being fished through the walls we would have some minor painting and drywall fixes to be done afterwards but there is none, because Ring was so careful. That was a big relief since I just had our entire house re-painted! Also of note: the guys wore booties all the time they were in the house and their cleanup was par excellence - my house was cleaner after they left than when they arrived and there were no forgotten scraps needing to be trashed - perfect. After the guys left I walked around marvelling at how our home felt like a new place with all the changes they made. Lots of beautiful light and all the switches in the right places. Some of the services Ring did: - replaced outdoor electrical box - casing had come apart & exposed wiring (had Hydro Ottawa inspect after and certify) - added several new plug outlets in various rooms - changed added and coordinated light switches - installed track lighting to kitchen, and overhead lighting to bedroom, exterior lights (to brick walls) - fixed and replaced badly installed sensor lights to house exterior - fixed dryer outlet, reversed polarity outlets (or GFI's?), replaced several unoperational outlets, - added outlets in garage to replace dangerous extension cords - added breakers to our electrical box for our sump pump & backup and installed new outlet for them, hung power bar on the wall to get it off the basement floor - installed cable outlet in wall (Rogers had strung it up through a heating vent) - and more. I contacted Ring after reading great reviews about them online. After having a bad experience with a previous electrician I figured you can't be too careful and need to check references. My experience with this company has been nothing but fantastic. From the estimate process to the day of work, the service was always professional, courteous, and they were accomodating to my requests. Everything was done properly and to code, and you can tell that attention to detail is important to the workers. In this day and age where there are so many contractors to chose from, I will definitely be recommending Ring Electric to my family and friends as I can sleep well at night knowing that my home is safe.
