We are very grateful we found Stephen. Not only he did do a superb job on the mantle he guided us thru the whole process of rebuilding our fireplace. We found him very knowledgeable , meticulous ,very honest and always on time. I can't say enough about this gentlemen only that we are very grateful we found him. You won't be disappointed with his work. I highly recommend him with confidence.

The job was a built-in cabinet for our basement in 2013. Steven gave us great suggestions for the design of the product. The quality of the installation and the product itself was superb. Of course it was more than we expected in terms of cost but well worth it! We were more than satisfied! Even though the product was put in now a few years ago, I have procrastinated writing this review, as I am not much for posting reviews but an excellent review was well deserved, so I HAD to do it. We will definitely be recommending Black Forest to our friends and neighbours

I asked Steven to give me an estimate for a built in TV cabinet for our bedroom. He came and gave me very good advice in addition to the estimate. I followed his advice and the result is a beautiful cabinet. I am extremely happy with his work. Thank you Steven.

We had a vision of our wants and needs of an Entertainment Unit. Steven listened and then added his expert advice. The unit 100% exceeded our expectations. Fantastic - Steven came in and easily dealt with 2 toddlers (2 & 3 years of age) and a dog and providing us with a vision that we had been looking for. Installed in 2 days with no mess or issues. Steven built and installed fireplace mantel for us. Let me say he did a great job! The quality is outstanding. He made an excellent recommendation when he came for estimation. He was courteous, friendly and a skillful craftsman. I would not hesitate to recommend this company and would certainly use them again. Thanks again for my beautiful mantle!

We had originally contacted Steve of BBW ( Blackforest Woodworkings) to re do the mantle of the standard fireplace provided by the builder. After an email and voice message, got a response on the same day by Steve and arranged a time for a visit. After I explained to him what I wanted, he gave his honest professional opinion that it would be too costly and wouldn't look good. So I gave up on the fireplace idea. But since he was already here, I asked him what to do with two art niches that have been kind of an eye sore for a while. So he immediately suggested to create some built in shelves and showed me some examples of past works and gave a quote. All the work was done as promised and the shelves look awesome. Steve and his buddy were very professional. neat and finished on time. I would definitely recommend them and surely will call them again for future work.

Steven worked with us through the planning process to the smallest detail after installation. He provides excellent input on what he believes is needed and tailors it to what you want. He is good to work with, dependable and trustworthy. We will use him again for future projects.

Very satisfied with these cabinets. Steven was very helpful and flexible in tweaking our design to our strange space and needs (including a crazy idea about angled shoe cabinets that ended up working out great). The workmanship is first rate and the installation crew was clean, quiet, and pleasant. Definitely recommend.

Our new fireplace (mantel & granite) is perfect. We use every excuse to go into the room to admire it and we show it off shamelessly to all visitors. They all love it too. We had a hard time deciding how and where to find the right company for this job. We found Black Forest Woodworking on Homestars and were impressed by the positive reviews. We were equally impressed when we met Steven and throughout the process we remained confident in our choice. Steven is professional, experienced, knowledgdable and very easy to deal with. He listens carefully and offers wise advise and/or options. Best of all he and his team deliver on time and as promised, at a reasonable price. Steven also made a slide out drawer for the centre section of our vanity. Although the job was a small one, the same degree of quality workmanship and commitment to excellence was evident. We would not hesitste to recommend Black Forest Woodworking for any job that requires skill and craftsmanship.
