    Front steps

    Kurt came highly recommended by our neighbour after last years project on their yard. He is polite and professional and listens to what you are looking for while adding suggestions keeping within our budget. He fit our smaller job in while dealing with this years rainy season ☔️. We couldn't be happier and are pleased to recommend Kurt and his team to anyone looking for a satisfactory end to their landscape dream! PH-Pickering

    Interlocking brick

    Owner, Kurt Byres and his staff are very polite, professional and reliable. Their work is done with a great deal of pride which is evidenced by the beautiful end product. Kurt listens to what you want the first time you tell him, which I find to be rare these days. He works closely with you to make your vision come to life within your budget. If you are not sure what will work, trust his experience and knowledge as he knows what he is doing. I would highly recommend Distinctive Designs for any ones landscaping needs. They stand behind their work. I will not hesitate to have this company do further work at my home and office.

    Backyard Fencing and Sod

    Kurt and his crew came out last September to regrade our backyard and replace fencing on 2 sides. His price was the best we received and he gave great advice on what to do with our back fence since the previous owners put 2 feet of topsoil in to back fill a pool and the fence was leaning dangerously onto our neighbours property. Kurt suggested a retaining wall with the fence built on top of it so we wouldn't lose any square footage in the backyard (we have 3 kids under 5, so play space is precious.) The work was done within timeline, despite some rain and very hot conditions, and the workers were very polite and accomodating, even allowing my 2 boys to check out the equipment they use. Look forward to working with Kurt and his crew on our next project.

    Front steps, patio, deck, and fence.

    Integrity, passion, and plain old-fashioned hard work!! that is how i would describe Kurt and his team. we had some work done in 2016 and again this year (2017) we had the guys back for a small fencing project. The standard of work and care are obvious from the moment they arrive till they leave. They are friendly, courteous, and professional, and I am happy to recommend them. A pleasure to do business with them!!

    Interlocking Patio and Walkway

    Kurt and his crew were very professional and courteous. For my project they paid attention to details, the work was neat, clean with perfect alignment of the stones on my back patio and walkway. Kurt was very accommodating when I wanted to make a change to the original layout and when I asked him if he could remove some lattice and river rock I no longer wanted in the yard. He did the work quickly so there was little inconvenience for us, but he did a great job. My wife is very pleased with the choice of stone which was recommended by Kurt. She's excited to use her yard again. My neighbour came by to check out the work Kurt had done and complimented me on the look. I have more plans for the yard and will definitely use Distinctive Designs Landscaping again.

    Backyard Patio + Fire Pit

    Out with the old deck and in with the interlocking patio! Kurt and his team were awesome to work with. When I described to Kurt my “vision”, he helped with bringing it to light; including a gas fire pit that I never originally thought of and have no regrets in adding. Putting aside a pushed out start date due to Mother Nature, his team had the work completed in less than the estimated time . Needless to say, we’ve been enjoying our patio and fire pit more over the past 2 weeks than we would have with the former deck. Would I look to work with Kurt again? ABSOLUTELY!! Already have plans in mind for additional outdoor reno. NB: I should also add that the clean up job after was amazing!

    Backyard stone work and landscaping

    Kurt and his team did work at our house in late April/early May 2017 and we couldn't be happier with the whole entire process. From the first meeting to the quote to the finished product, Kurt and his team were professional and answered all of our questions or concerns. We have had friends and family over since the work was completed and they are just stunned by the transformation of the backyard and the craftsmanship. I would recommend Kurt to anybody as you won't be disappointed. Work that was done: - stone patio - stone planter - landscaping to yard - fence and privacy screen built - front steps of house redone - outdoor gas fire pit - concrete base for hot tub and shed

    Front Steps and Porch

    Our experience with Distinctive Design was exceptional. Kurt provided us with an all in quote and was through in his explanation. He helped us to pick the stone that would best match our house and kept in touch until the time had arrived for our work to be completed. His crew worked hard and efficiently. The end result was better than our expectations. I would definitely use Distinctive Design again for any of our landscaping needs.

    Walkway & Retaining Walls

    AMAZING! It's been two months now, and not only do I still smile when I drive up to my house and see the fantastic work that Distinctive Designs Landscaping did on my new retaining walls and walkway, but I still receive compliments from strangers who walk by. From the first meeting with Kurt, everything was done professionally and with great skill. Kurt made suggestions on design and materials and, as I am not a designer, I rightfully put my trust in his ideas and couldn't be happier with the results! The Distinctive Design team were respectful of neighbours and ensured that everything was cleaned up at the end of each day. I highly recommend Distinctive Designs Landscaping!

    Backyard patio, walkway, fence and retaining wall

    Everyone was super nice and great to work with. The workmanship and quality of products were great. When we ran into an unexpected hurdle while the work was being done, and a number of options were provided as solutions. I really appreciated the everyone making it work for us. Everything was clean and put back after the work was complete. I look forward to working with them again.
