Review from HomeOwner Review left on 15 Apr 2013Rating: 0 out of 5I am extremely disapointed in the way this company has dealt with the issue of my broken dryer. First I was quoted the "magical" $280 to which I originally agreed as according to the tech it would fix the problem with my dryer. 15 minutes later I get a call indicating that a very expensive part is required to complete the fix. I told him to leave it alone and he proceeded to charge me the full $280 despite not performing the service. When I called into Customer Service to complain I was met with a very emphatic "...it is what it is" and I had no recourse. All in all the tech was in and out in less than an hour. Not sure how they justify the repair costs when they don't complete the work. Any other tech's I have dealt with in the past when told to stop the work I was only charged for what they did and not for what they failed to do! NEVER AGAIN!Review from HomeOwner HomeOwner

Nanny called me at work saying washer got stuck with the clothes in it, door won't open. I googled this company, called them up. Three hours later a guy calls me back explaining the problem, the reason, the solution and the price. Gave him the go ahead. He calls me back an hour later for the payment. Nanny says machine now works well. By the time I'm home I forgot I had an issue.Answer from pro:
Dear Anna, Thank you for your wonderful review! we are happy to see satisfied customers like you :)

Well it seems I fell for the same bait and switch that others have written about. A very polite repairman came, diagnosed the problem and was here in total 34 minutes ( I timed). No parts and the bill was over $300. I have to say it is fixed now but can't say I'll look to them first next time something goes wrong. Don't believe the $80 service call that appears on the website. I know for next time. I think the ratings in the 6 range that I see are right on for this company. It is fixed but their practice cannot be described as up-front and ethical in any way.Review from HomeOwner HomeOwner

This company seems to be proficient in the bait and switch fraudulent technique. BAD BUSINESS. DON'T NOT CALL FOR SERVICE FROM THIS COMPANY. After we agreed to the diagnostic report ($80) to fix the dishwasher, the service guy, after 45 minutes said he is done and our dishwasher is now fixed (water circulation). He then proceeds to write the receipt for $280 no charge for parts or labour plus $36.40 in tax totaling $316.40. We pay the guy via MC, he then proceeds to tell me you are ALSO going to need an additional part (which wasn't mentioned in the diagnostic or on the receipt) for an additional $285. When tried to rectify the situation with Elona she tells us there is nothing they will do because we already paid for the service and either we take it or leave it. Fraud. Bait and Switch, Bad Business.Answer from pro:
Hi Chad We apologize for any inconvenience and are very sorry to hear that you feel this way about the company. The initial $80.00 was indeed for the tech to come out and diagnose. He then would give you a quote for the labor/repair before any work is done. Once it's agreed upon, he will go ahead with the labor and repair to the machine. If a part is required, the technician would not no this until he performed the labor and tested all the necessary components, and that's why he stated this to you after he finished with the labor. Unfortunately with out the specific part that you machine requires, we were unable to move ahead with completing the repair. Chad, once again we are sorry that this had to end the way it did.

Review left on 2 Apr 2013Rating: 5 out of 5Maytage Washer, Maytag Dryer, GE Gas oven
In 65 Minutes two friendly, polite, knowledgeable and professional service repair people from Serve4appliances repaired 3 separate appliances. They replaced a gasket and door liner on the washer, replaced a fin on the dryer, and when I was expecting to have to buy a very expensive part for the oven, they repaired it instead. I am very impressed and will absolutely endorse and recommend them to others. As well, they were fine installing parts I had purchased myself. Many companies won't - claiming to not trust parts they don't buy; when they really just want the steep mark-up. Using the parts I had purchased without negotiation is really a sign of integrity. I'm really impressed! I didn't get the names of the two men who came, I wish I had. They were great!Review from HomeOwner HomeOwner

I will never call this company again. I called them to repair my dishwasher. I asked for their rates and the service rep. told me it would be $80 for the service call which would be waived if we decided to go ahead with the repair. I then asked what they charged for their repair work. She told me it all depended on what was wrong with the dishwasher and refused to give me a price. When the serviceman came he told me the flat rate for service was $280 plus extra for parts. I called the company back to complain and told them they had not given me this information when I had asked specifically for it. She still refused to acknowledge that there was a flat rate. I do not feel this is honest and I let them know we were very upset about the fact that they weren't upfront about their exorbitant rates. We ended up paying the $80 plus tax service call fee but didn't get them to fix it. We feel lucky we didn't go ahead after reading some of the other reviews on this site. Who knows what they might have charged us for the small part we needed?Answer from pro:
Hi Karen We are sorry that you feel this way, but it seems like there might have been a miscommunication. We do indeed charge $80.00 for a service call and once the tech diagnoses the problem he would give a repair quote. We quote per job/repair before any work is done and if you(customer) agree he proceeds and the $80.00 service call is waived. The quote is based on the diagnoses, and that is why the customer service rep could not give you an exact figure for the repair. Once again we do apologize for the miscommunication and any inconvenience this may have caused.

Strongly recommend not using this company. My wife called this company to repair our washer and was quoted $80.00 for the visit. The serviceman came spent less than 30 minutes looking at the washer and advised that the lid switch was defective. He wanted $240 plus HST for his time. He did not have the switch and thus could not replace the defective part. He said the company would call back with the quote for the cost of the part and there would be no labour charge to replace the defective part. I looked the part up on line and found that it cost $26. The next day the company called with the estimate and they advised the part cost $230.00. They had no comment when I told them the part only cost $26. Needless to say I did not have the company come back to replace the lid switch. After purchasing the switch I replaced it myself in less than 5 minutes. This company wanted $470 to replace a part that cost $26.00 and less than 1 hour of labour. These guys are unbelievable!!!Review from HomeOwner HomeOwner

I phoned to make an appointment to have my dryer serviced. They made an appointment for me promptly the next morning and the repairman showed up promptly at 9am, just as planned. He assessed the problem, explained it to me what was wrong and the breakdown of the cost of the repair. The dryer was fixed in less than 1/2 an hour and he cleaned up the space where he was working. A very kind pleasant experience. I highly recommend utilizing services4appliances. Thanks for your efficiency.Review from HomeOwner HomeOwner

This company is not an honest company! One of the element was not working and we were quoted $80 for a visit and the money is to be credited towards the repair cost. Instead the guy came and opened up the control panel and told us it will be $280 plus tax for checking the connections! The checking took him less than an hour. To add insult to injury, the guy could only make it work temporarily and he had to replace a part that control the temperature. He said the company will get back to us to quote us the cost of the part. That was March 3, 2013. When we didn't hear anything back from the company after more than a week, we called and were then told that the part will cost $400!! That's $700 to repair one element. We could buy a brand new stove for that amount!! Please spread the word and stay away from this company. By the way this guy left his tester inside the control panel and had to come back and opened up the control panel again to retrieve it. I am not even sure if he is a qualified repairman!Answer from pro:
Hi Kiui We apologize for any inconveniences. Our technicians always do everything they can do to repair the problem with the appliance before replacing any parts, as they do tend to be pricy. Unfortunately in some cases a part does need replacing, and this is what happened during your repair. Our quotes are always given prior to any work being done and are agreed to with the customer. Once again we apologize for any inconvenience and sorry that your experience ended this way
