    dishwasher

I have a dishwasher throwing now and then an error code. After 2 years of "fixing" the error with a slap on the interior, we decided to have the part fixed. I know intermittent errors are hard to diagnose, but lately is throwing this error every time, and every time I had to mildly kick the thing to start. Quote over the phone - $80 to identify the issue. The technician came, start the test, got the error, pull the dishwasher out - and with this movement the thing started to work again, and promptly emptied the water. The guy opened the panels, managed to loose a screw inside (well, he tried to find it by dismounting again the parts, but did not find it. Still asking myself what I should do, because it can further damage the evacuation pump), started the cycle again (of course now was working, as it is after every kick!) and told me that I don't have to replace anything ("I don't like to replace working parts ... you see, now is working"). He didn't even tried to clean the part witch I told him the whole internet is indicating as the culprit. He asked for $280 + tax for "servicing" the item. He didn't provide a price for the replacement item - after 10 minutes he told me that if I want I can order it and will be installed by them on the same charge). Warranty - 30 days from - once he said from the first call, another time from the replacement date. He asked for the $280 right away, and will communicate us later the price of the part. Being not too happy that he try to sell me a shake of the unit as a repair job, I decided to pay only the initial $80. Big scene, some yelling, threatens to leave (be my guest)... In the end he got the 80, but told me that "next time I'll have to pay again, to have it fixed again, because, you know will fail".... What? I would get tricked if that was the first time , but i "repaired" the dishwasher in this way for the last 2 years !!! Bad, bad experience. Still asking myself if the "fun" I had was worth $80. Not recommending the company.

    Broken Dryer / Washer

I contacted service4appliances to come look at my Dryer and Washing machines. We were in the process of switching the front load units from floor standing to stacked as we needed to save some space in the room. The Dryer wasn't working for 2 separate reasons one was that for the past week or so it was running continuously and wouldn't automatically shut off regardless of what setting it was on, which was an annoyance but not something that I called immediately to have repaired, after a few days the drum stopped turning all together although the dryer would still turn on and heat up. I called service4appliances and explained the 2 issues with the dryer and additionally asked if they would confirm my washer was properly balanced as it seemed loud when running and I didn't want to have a more costly repair down the road after the units were stacked. The customer service girl indicated that it sounded like a problem with the "timer switch or sensor" on the dryer which seemed to make some sense. The 2 technicians came and I explained both problems with the Dryer and that I just wanted the washer balanced, they looked at my 2 appliances and within 15 minutes he told me he could fix the dryer without needing parts (usually the board just needs to be reset and make sure the connections are clean and tight). He said it would cost me $280 dollars, I thought this was the cost for both appliances and was pleased and told him to go ahead. As it turns out that was the cost for them to take the dryer apart and clean it up inside only, because when they plugged it back together the drum started to turn. I again asked if both issues were now fixed and the technicians indicated that usually fixing the one problem fixes both as usually there is only one problem with an appliance at a time. Then they balanced the washer which involved greasing the springs and adjusting the feet which they then told me I owed an additional $250 for. I was more than a little shocked but felt it was at least partially my fault for misunderstanding the quote was just for the one unit. I paid the fee that I thought was high, at least to have our laundry working again given that we have 2 adults and 2 toddlers that requires us to run the units daily. After the technicians left it was late so the laundry got run the next day and we found that they only fixed the one problem with the Dryer and NOT the fact that it won't shut off on its own. So now I'm just waiting for their "temporary fix" to stop working again. I called today and spoke with their customer service which was a joke all they wanted to say is I never told them about the second problem which is completely not true as I have written notes from when I originally called them indicating we spoke about it and what the cause may be. All they were willing to do was to send another tech out to diagnose the other problem but I would have to pay another service call. So now I have spent over $600 dollars (with taxes) on a set of laundry units that is 6 years old to have them cleaned up and balanced with no new parts. the technicians were at my house for just over an hour. Wish I made that kind of money. I told their customer service that not only did I not want them to send another tech out to fix my original problem as I wasn't giving them another dime to fix what they already didn't do, but that I would never recommend them to anybody ever. I am also sending an email detailing this encounter to Samsung the manufacturer of my units to ensure they do not recommend this company in the future, and maybe I should also copy the better business bureau. I feel like they just took my money. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY IF YOU KNOW WHATS GOOD FOR YOU!!!

Service of Double in wall oven

We called Service 4 Appliances to repair our Double In-Wall oven. The tech arrived on time and prepared to diagnose the problem. He told us we needed a part that he would have to order. He said the cost of the service call and to pre-pay the labour for the installation of the part was $295. But they couldn't get the part and wouldn't refund the portion of what we paid. It took me three weeks of calling them and not getting a call back to establish this. I was told that managers don't speak to customers and there is no way to get in touch with one. So I am left with the bill, the wall that was scratched up and the broken molding from the work the tech did.

    Washer Repair

We contacted this company to have our leaking front-load LG washer repaired before our house was sold. Despite us providing them our address both online and over the phone, the repair person apparently got the wrong address and tried going somewhere in rural Burlington. It took over an hour after he called us to finally make it to our house. When he arrived, he did not have any of the parts needed to service our washer. Nor did he provide a written estimate of exactly what needed to be replaced so we could check the accuracy of the oral quote (which equalled the cost of a new washer) he did provide. When I called to complain, all the customer service staff could tell me was that his report indicated a new door boot was required. Online estimates for LG door boots were only approximately $70, not the $240 he had quoted us (plus $280 in labour to install it). Despite not actually repairing our washer or providing us with sufficient information to assess whether we should repair or replace it, we were nevertheless charged $90 for the service call. Needless to say, if we do choose to repair the washer, we will find another company to make the repairs.

    Dishwasher Repair

We had a broken detergent dispenser on our dishwasher. The technician was quick to diagnosis the problem and a part was ordered. Two weeks later the technician returned and replace the part. The price was high from my point of view but the service was great.
