I want to thank Jay and his crew (Daniel, Cory, Travis and the others whose names I do not know) for their excellent service and workmanship. Its never a good time to tear down and rebuild a fence, especially when you have a dog to deal with but as promised, I was not without a fence for too long. I really appreciate all the hard work and will certainly recommend you to anyone without hesitation.

After Summer 2020 during the pandemic, we knew we needed a total backyard revamp in order to enjoy our space at home with our kids. We decided to install a pool, but we needed new deck, patio, and fencing. We wanted a trustworthy, experienced, and organized contractor for the job with good reviews. I'm so happy we found Jay and Green Side Up! Jay started working with us on a plan last Fall, and construction began in the Spring of 2021 as promised. We knew Jay was knowledgeable, professional, and also so friendly and personable. His reviews were excellent and we got everything we wanted. The quotes were fair, timing was reasonable, and his team was awesome to have working for us. Clean, attention to detail, friendly, fast, and a real pleasure to have in our yard. Our job was a big one, and lots of moving parts. Jay was constantly popping over, calling, checking in, to make sure we were happy and satisfied with the ongoing work. I highly recommend Jay and Green Side Up for all outdoor reno work, customer service was 100% and the work speaks for itself, it's high quality and perfectly constructed. Well done to Jay and his team, he's given us our DREAM BACKYARD! There's more to do at my house, and I'll be calling Jay! Best wishes.

Jay at green Side up was excellent to work with, he was able to successfully deal with four of my neighbors to arrange the fence installation and individually billed us. The installation itself was difficult as the crew had to bring in a mini excavator to dig the holes for the posts due to the condition of our ground, Jay did not change the quoted price for this work. Would recommend then to anyone looking for a any of the services they offer.

We decided to replace our existing standard builders fence as part of our pool installation a little late in the game. With all the various delays and schedule changes due to COVID, we were not sure if we would be able to find someone to install a fence, especially when many contractors were not even returning calls and already booked for the year. We ended up searching HomeStars and came across Green Side Up. We checked out the Green Side Up website and were impressed with the details, the quick quote tool and left us with a good feeling. Usually, we ask around and try to get references from people we know for these kinds of things but time was not on our side. We took a chance and called Green Side Up and left a message. Jay returned the call quickly and was very professional. We mentioned the pool situation and that there would be a need for a second visit to complete the fence as we needed 3 sections left open for machines to access the backyard for excavation etc. We thought this is where we would lose Jay's interest in the job as coming back to put in 3 posts, 3 sections and some gates is more of a pain point. Instead, Jay worked with us on timing and fit us into his schedule! That was such a great thing to hear. We were happy. Jay ended up giving us a quote after his site visit and also mentioned a site they recently finished with the same Total Privacy with I beam fence we wanted. We ended up driving out to the site and liked what we saw. We approved the quote shortly after that. Fast forward to fence removal day. The crew showed up early in the day and worked a at good pace. Everyone was doing something all the time. Everything was being done in a professional manner. They were courteous, respectful and easy to talk to (we tried not to interrupt!). The fence was down with old posts cut down in one day. The new posts went in the next day. The post guys, which seemed to be a different crew, did a good job overall but, for one post, did go on the neighbour's side to use their hole auger machine. This caused some damage on my neighbour's lawn which I learned from my neighbour instead of the post guys. Jay's team acknowledged the situation and repaired the lawn. We went with the Total Privacy fence with an I beam up top. The fence construction began a few days later to allow the posts to set. It took about 2 days to finish the fence with the majority of it being completed on day 1. The crew cleaned up after themselves as they went and were working with purpose. It already looked great. When it came time to set a date to complete the last 3 sections and gates, there were some delays due to weather etc. Jay kept in touch via text and was very accommodating and understanding. We finally had a date range for the fence to be completed which happened to be just over a month since the initial fence went up. We tried to give Jay as much advanced notice as possible which ended up being only 2 days notice. Even with that, the Green Side Up team made things happen, showed up to put 3 posts in the morning and the rest of the fence and gates were done next day. The fence and gates look fantastic. The backyard looks so much better with the new fence and we we are very happy with the privacy factor that the pool enclosure provides. We were nervous going with a company that we had zero experience with and not having any idea of how the job would end up. As we got into things, our concerns were squashed and confidence grew. Now that it is all done, I am very happy that we went with Green Side Up. They did a terrific job and we highly recommend!

The end of March 2021 marked one year in our new townhome in East Gwillimbury, Ontario. Given the state of the pandemic we new that travel would likely be at a minimum this year. The alternative, make a place to enjoy at your own home. After contacting 10 landscaping companies and often getting the run around because of the size of our job, I met with Jay from Green Side Up Contracting. Within 24 hours Jay got back to me to arrange a time to meet to discuss the project I had in mind for our courtyard. He provided excellent feedback and guidance as well as advice relating to the type of material I should consider for the project. A day after our meeting, he provided me with an estimate for the work and materials that did not change. The ideal scenario we planned out would see work begin in early May, but mother nature refused to adhere to our original timelines. Work commenced in mid June as the weather broke to give us a significant number of dry days (4 in a row) that allowed the work to be completed. Jay's crew with Rob as the lead were prompt, efficient and openly communicated with me as to what was being done at the start of each day and at the end of each day. The open communication during the job, especially the willingness to explain and answer questions during the work day, resulted in a high level of confidence on my part that was equally matched by the professional workmanship that the crew provided. I am extremely pleased with the end result and look forward to spending time enjoying our new courtyard. Thank you Jay and Rob for a job well done!

We were referred to Green Side Up by a friend. Job was for fence back length only, about 90 linear feet. Once we reached out, the process was fast and efficient. We had a visit, quote and were booked within a week. Our installation was as scheduled except for some weather delay. Crew was fast and did good quality work, leaving the property as they found it. Neighbour feedback was also very positive. Cost was competitive. Would definitely recommend.

Jay was always responsive, patient and helpful. His team for the deck (Victor and Richard) were very attentive to detail and built a beautiful Trex deck. Jay and the team at Green Side Up are fantastic. Used them for our back, hot tub pergola, deck and side fence/gate, side deck in 2019 and then again this year. Have recommended Green Side Up to multiple neighbors and will definitely need them again soon for stone/landscape work.
