Geoff was great! I am a first time homebuyer and Geoff was very informative. and answered all my questions. He was thorough and took his time to go through the whole house. He noticed some indications of moisture on the floor in the basement and sure enough he found out that the sump pump wasn't working correctly. He gave lots of tips and tidbits to me for minor fixes throughout the place. Definitely will use him again in the future.

had new metal roofing instantiated and he was the only one who said yes, we can do that for you I had called several others introspects from home to the roof inspectors and roofing companies, they all said no I would highly recommend him to everyone

Researched bunch of Home inspectors in the Edmonton Area and came upon homestars and saw REI...so figured give it a try with the excellent reviews. Geoff was great, he answered all our questions and was very thorough with the inspection. When the inspection was done we had some additional questions the next day and he was more than willing to answer and clarify anything we didn't understand in the report.

Very detailed, spent time going over the issues seen and explained them well. Friendly and professional. Straight forward and listened to and answered all questions. I would recommend REI anytime!

Geoff has a perfect mix of professionalism and personality. He was very thorough and did a great job explaining everything to me. On the other side it was just like hanging out with an old friend. Easy to chat with and get along with. I would recommend him to anybody in a heartbeat!

Let me just open with THANK GOODNESS FOR HOME INSPECTION CONDITIONS! My husband and I had put in an offer on a house that looked fine from what we could see, however once the inspection was done we were so thankful that we were saved from owning it! Geoff was amazing! He was there early, his thorough inspection lasted at least 3 hours, and he stayed and talked everything over with me for another hour afterwards. Even though the inspection lasted longer than usual, the rate was the same. Also, the report was well written, had everything pointed out in a clear and concise way. I will definitely be hiring him again when we find the right house.

I was going to buy a house and thought of having some professional advice of the house's quality and potential problems. Geoff Lathom carefully inspected the property and patiently explained to me everything that I needed to know. He started the furnace and water tank, and tried the fireplace of the house, many things in addition to home inspection. He identified many things that I needed to bring about to the builder for fixing. I did not anticipate that a new house can also have so many problems. He also delivered the written report which is very informative with necessary details, images and recommendations. The report also had a brief summary at the end highlighting all the areas that the builder needs to attend to before the procession day. Geoff also expressed willingness to answer for future questions and provide needed help. I would recommend everybody buying a new home to have a home inspection and REI is an excellent choice for doing it.

Our one year warranty for deficiencies in our new home was due and we decided to hire REI for our home inspection. Doug was very pleasant to deal with both on the phone and in person. He was very knowledgeable and straight forward during the home inspection process. He answered all of our concerns and we did not feel rushed. The final report was delivered electronically via email the second day. The report was easy to follow and straight forward. I would not hesitate to recommend Geoff and REI to my friends, family and anyone who is purchasing a home. Geoff was very professional and more thorough than expected. He uncovered issues with the home and was very knowledgeable about what it would take to get the issues resolved. This is not to mention his flexibility, with scheduling our inspection, to accommodate our needs and, despite this, still having an amazing amount of energy to complete the inspection. The Inspection report was timely and very detailed. He also presents the information in two formats, one that identifies common issues and maintenance suggestions with the specifics to the home that he is inspecting as well as one that just summarizes the information about our potential home. He has made us extremely confident that the house we are buying will indeed be our HOME for years to come.
