I'm a hard marker so this 10/10 is a statistical outlier and genuine. Jamie's crew @ RockBottom was such a pleasure to work with and I agree with my neighbour below, whose project was the same plus I added a basement walkout. It's as though the crew was in a 'best day ever' bubble each day - cheerful, friendly, tidy, careful, competent and considerate, empty bins moving in and full bins moving out like an RCMP musical ride, all to the bouncy playlist emanating from the basement. They solved problems, recommended solutions explaining why and I was never patted on the head with a 'just trust me, l'il lady'. Below pic of the poured floor through the basement window before floating. I would not hesitate to recommend. Too bad RockTop doesn't have the same ring as RockBottom because this experience, which started with thorough trepidation, really was tops.

Our older, lower (6'), mostly finished basement needed to be expanded to allow for an elderly family member to join our household. Rock Bottom came recommended by a friend of a friend and did not disappoint. The price was competitive (but not cheap) for gutting the basement, taking our floor down to get us a finished height of 8' with new drains, sump pump, backwater valve and hot water heating pipes with manifold. The team was always punctual (6 days a week), always cheerful, and highly effective. From start to finish their work took 5 weeks (the estimate was 4-6). Our GC noted how rare that is with underpinning work, and a builder friend noted the quality of the floor's finished surface. Additionally, our semi-detached neighbour's basement is almost finished (the team is still punctual, cheerful and effective). A very strong recommendation from us.

Rock Bottom Underpinning did a great job on my basement. Interior waterproofing, back flow valve, sump pump, new water service and sewer line, and 8' of headroom from underpinning. All work was quality and job site was kept clean throughout. No issues.

They were amazing. It was a challenging job of digging/underpinning/ shoring a basement under a 130 year old row home that only had a crawl space. Their work looked like an engineering miracle. We are glad that we didn't cut corners/go with a cheaper company- We went with the best, RockBottom, to ensure quality, technical expertise and confidence. Jamie was communicative, responsive, and reassuring. We had peace of mind with Rockbottom, which is exactly what we needed for such a large project.

Rock Bottom delivered a high quality underpinning job with a team of skilled and hardworking employees. The team was very reliable and there was good communication between us and our key contact point. The owner of the company is engaged and involved and showed up every now and then to assess progress. I commend Rock Bottom for having a clear line of sight of the work that needs to be completed which led to minimal to no surprises. Finally, Rock Bottom supported us through the process of obtaining the necessary details to submit an application for a rebate on the sump pump and sump pit.

Rock Bottom was very responsive during the quotation period and throughout the process. They were very accommodating with a mid-project change, and also pushed the right amount for their own recommendations. The work crew were very respectful and hard-working - it was easy to live through the process. Deducted 1 star because with a little more attention to housekeeping at the end of the project they would honestly be a 10/10 contractor.

Jamie and his crew were great! We hired Jamie and crew to dig out and underpin our basement and install in floor heating. We were very impressed. They were organized and prepared and finished exactly on schedule. We would definitely recommend them!
