    Underpinned Basement

    At the outset of the project everything moved along very quickly. The guys showed up every day and the messiest part of the work was completed in about 4 weeks. After that, things slowed down substantially, and it took nearly another month to complete the job. We had to reach out for timing on when additional work was to be completed. The 8 week timeframe was consistent with quotes that we received from other companies. We saw some signs of settling while the work was being done (cracked plaster and a basement door that no longer closes) that we were told wouldnt happen, but did. Overall, were happy that the work was done, but think there could have been better communication throughout the process.

From our records it indicates that we started the underpinning process on Mar 17th, and the final slab was poured on Apr 27th, which matched our anticipated timeline of 4-6 weeks. There was one delay as you did not have a drains permit, which caused a few lost days with city inspection We always mention when beam work is done, it is normal for plaster to crack as these old homes do tend to shift a bit when installing new steel beams/posts Thank for you for your feedback and we will be sure to review it for our future projects.     Underpinning

    The Rock Bottom crew is the best in the industry! They are professional, efficient and very respectful of your home and your belongings. Jamie is the face of the firm and an absolute delight to work with. Dion, the owner is equally as pleasant to work with. I have nothing but good things to say about the process from start to finish (same goes for my neighbours). If you are considering doing a project of this size and scale, I suggest you use a reputable group like Rock Bottom. They are the underpinning specialists. Thanks again to all involved for an amazing job. We are thrilled with the end product.

    my basement ubderpin

    i live in a 100 year old centre hall in Deer Park. my neighbor used Rock Botton to underpin and I saw the end product and decided to do the same. Rock bottom was on budget and on schedule. i put in structurl steel and openedit up, i amextremely happy with the service Rock Bottom provided nd would 100% recommend.

    Project Huron

    From the very first consultation Jamie was so knowledgeable. The workmanship was outstanding, I would recommend them anyday. The final result exceeded my expectations (and I’m a very picky customer). No detail left unfinished.

    Basement underpinning

    Rock Bottom Underpinning was amazing to work with. They were professional efficient and respectful of both our space, and our family. The project managers were easy to reach, and kept us well informed of the progress and of any issues. The pricing was reasonable, and did not change from the quote. We highly recommend Rock Bottom Underpinning!

    Complex underpinning + Structural works + infloor heating

    Relief! This is what comes to our mind when thinking about how Rockbottom executed the job, a complex 5 to 6 ft underpinning for our house, but also fixed the poor work of a precedent not-recommendable crew, in a smooth, honest and hard at work manners, on schedule, on price. Our newly bought house had shifted and we knew right away an underpinning is necessary before the big reno.. We made the mistake to trust a company recommended by word of mouth that had no internet presence, ended up with a mess, a large central portion of the basement removed, and a price submission over the roof submitted only once the damage was made and we stopped them. Nightmare ! We then ask submission from companies with proven track records; all commented that the structural work, the nature of the underpinning - 5-6 feet deep underpinning and a toe form - over a poor soil quality and the mistakes made by the previous team made the project quite complex. Rockbottom was one to take the challenge, they submitted a fair and detailed price, along with a properly redacted contract and a comprehensive schedule. The communication was excellent – thanks Jamie ! - , the team was 6/7 on the job, the worksite was tidied up every day by the book. The temporary structures were well made, robust, and we could see that team safety was always taken seriously. Structural engineer and city inspector were always pleased with their work. Thanks Dion ! The schedule was respected, they had an excellent coordination with the next team for some part of the structural work, and the price was on the point what it was submitted as we signed the contract. We really felt they went the extra mile for us all along, and will further recommend them to anyone looking for a honest, acknowledgeable, experienced and overall extremely professional company.

    Garage Foundation

    Dion, Jamie, Sergio and company did a fantastic job planning, navigating multiple changes needed (due to environmental sensitivity of the space) and executing the foundation installation. They communicated continually, ensuring I was kept informed of all the steps to be taken, decisions to be made, and coordinated with other suppliers and the city flawlessly. I can't recommend them enough - if you have a project in mind, give Dion a call!

    Bungalow basement underpinning and infloor heating ~900 sq.ft.

    Rock Bottom are the wizards of underpinning. Their work is impeccable, and their work ethics are admirable. We sneaked in every day after they were gone in the basement... We were consistently impressed by the steady progress they made and how organized they left their tools and machinery. All the phases were executed either on time or ahead of schedule. Imagine that! We had a few surprises along the way... Jamie and Sergio responded promptly and were able to resolve them seamlessly and without impacting the end result or the project timeline. Most importantly, they were right on the planned budget, there were no cost overruns, we paid for what was quoted exactly. Imagine that! Highly recommended!
