Rock Bottom Underpinning should be called Rock Stars Underpinning. Dion, Jamie & Sergio are the complete opposite of the industry perception- they are Transparent, Communicative, On-time, and most importantly made the entire process Stress-Free. Their team worked tirelessly 6 days a week. They arrived early each and every day and worked until early evenings (sometimes 12 hrs a day), each day with a friendly smile. Their work was impeccable, in fact, our engineer said he's never seen an underpin so neat, orderly, and on specs. Each day they cleaned the house where they were walking in and out of and did their best to keep the dirt to a minimum. We had one small hiccup (not their fault) but Jamie and Dion called us remotely to consult and spent an hour on the phone with us after hours. Not only did they reassure us that there was no concern but Sergio was back onsite at 7:30am the next morning to help with a solution. My only wish: we had used them to complete the full basement project- underpin and finishing. Go with this team, you will not be disappointed. Lance & Simon

An absolute pleasure to work with. Jamie and Dion , most professional and I would have no hesitation in recommending Rock Bottom Underpinning to anyone. In effect they have doubled our living space in our Lakeshore New Toronto home. The process was straight forward with Rockbottom's people working up our design options and obtaining city permits. Then the hard work starts with the dig and Jamie and Dions team got into it, a dedicated crew. I remember at a point in time thinking this is a lot bigger job than I realized, and relieved we got the right team on it. These guys eat, breath and sleep underpinning. Jamie and Owner of Rockbottom Dion were always available and had a fantastic crew. Early in the conversations we were offered the options of an additional walkout entrance at back of house as well as an in floor heating option. I would highly recommend others go this option. They went well beyond the original brief and organized the removal and replacement of the heating and Knob and Tube wiring for the rest of the house with a team of vetted contractors they use. We obtained 3 quotes for our basement underpinning. We chose to go with Rock Bottom because they edged out their competition on all of our most significant criteria: cost, time required, estimated start time and references. Rock Bottom underpinned our existing basement of approximately 125 linear feet. In addition to the usual scope of work for underpinning, our project included demolition of our existing basement drywall, framing, flooring, etc. The crew also installed hydronic flooring. We got off to a slow start. We signed our contact on March 21st, but didn't submit our permit application until June. Blain from Cadmonkeys who worked with us to prepare the floorplan for our permit application was not very responsive. The permit was issued on July 24, but we weren't made aware of that until August 11th. The work started in October. Once the work began, it went very smoothly. The crew worked tirelessly, six days a week. They finished the job on time, which was much appreciated because we had other work scheduled to begin shortly after. We are very happy with the quality of the work Rock Bottom did for us. That's most important to us. It was completed for the agreed price, without any surprises. The crew took great care not to damage our home and to keep the site clean. Jamie, who oversaw the work, kept us informed of progress and thoughtfully suggested ideas to make the new layout ideal, such as the placement of the overhead beams, sump pump, sewage ejector and water meter. Overall, we were happy enough with the underpinning that we agreed to have Rock Bottom finish our basement. That work is currently underway, and the quality is looking very good, indeed. We would recommend that you seriously consider Rock Bottom for your basement underpinning.

Rock Bottom renewed my faith in contractors. Daniel, Jamie, and Sergio were unbelievable responsive, available to answer all of my questions at every step. The crew was early every day and put in long hours to get the job as quickly as possible. There were a couple of surprises discovered when they dug down and none of it impacted the price I paid. The crew was friendly, happy, and incredibly hard-working. I was amazed at how tidy and orderly they kept an otherwise very messy site! I cannot recommend Rock Bottom highly enough. I'd hire them again in a heartbeat. I'm thrilled with my new basement!

I worked with Jamie and the Rock Bottom team to underepin the basement of my 100+ yr old in Leslieville. The overall goal was to dig out my basement to a finished height of 8' 2" (gained over 2 ft of head room). Jamie managed the project end to end, from drawings, permits, underpinning, waterproofing, new poured concrete floor, in-floor heating, and they left it clean and ready for my contractor to do the finishing. AND they did this all in about 6 weeks! which was super fast! (i.e. twice as fast as any other company who quoted my job). Jamie was truly a pleasure to work with -- very friendly and easy to deal with. From dealing with my many many calls and questions, and site visits while we were still in the discovery phase, to many conversations throughout the dig. Jamie always kept me in the loop and always made himself available when I needed him. Shout out to Jose as well, who was the lead on site during the project. The Rock Bottom team are pros and have a really well oiled machine -- I think they do something like 50+ underpins a year, and it shows in their speed, efficiency and quality. And of course great service too, which is very important to me and key in my decision making in selecting trades/contractors. Thanks again Jamie, Jose, Dion, and the rest of the Rock Bottom team that worked their butts off to deliver the project on time and on budget. I can confidently recommend Rock Bottom to anyone looking to dig out their basement and improve their home.

Hats off to Dion, Jamie, Frank and the rest of the team for a job well done on my project. A job of this magnitude would be hard for any underqualified company to manage, but Rock Bottom delivered what I wanted on budget and were professional in taking my numerous questions and concerns and guiding me through the process. I found the team to be very responsive and diligent -- in most cases, working six days a week to get the job completed. In addition to being very pleased with the final result in the basement, the walkout that was dug and built is also exactly what I'd hoped it would be. Rock Bottom is definitely an expert in this field!
