    Moving services

    I hired the company to move a 20 rooms house with high end furniture. They came on time, worked professionally and efficiently to do their work in the best possible way. a team of 12 guys and 3 trucks worked for 3 days with no issues at all.I am very happy with their work, this is a company that you can trust on. I will sure have them in the future for the next project I have.

    Paul and Leon were very good and efficient at moving me to my new place , and even though they were Russian , they were both very friendly :)

    Move from condo to house

    I was very pleased with the service I received. The two movers worked quickly and safely ensuring that all fragiles were properly transported. They arrived on time and were very reliable. In fact, a few weeks later I used the same company for a smaller move and I was just as satisfied with the service I received. Thank you!

    I moved from an apartment to a house

    The two gents were on time and amazing. They packed in a great time and unpacked leaving us with a lot of time to start the unpacking of all our boxes. This is my second time using Metropolitan movers and would recommend them to anyone.

    house move - 3 bedroom

    I needed more packing than expected and it was done well, but took a little longer, and I should've had 3 movers not 2, but overall it was excellent, they were courteous, and there was zero damage (which I was worried about as all previous large company moves had damage), and I had a lot of art and glass. Excellent result.

    Charged twice for one move

    Moved from Toronto to Kingston on September 3. Excellent movers but two huge problems at the office. 1/ They were supposed to arrange a storage unit in Kingston and didn't follow through so I had to scramble and find my own at the last minute. 2/They charged my credit card twice and now I can't get them to pay it back. It's not like they don't know about this error. They found the mistake first and called me to apologize and assure me that it would take 3 to 5 days for the charge to be reversed. It's been well over a month and go figure, not only have I not received the credit, the manager who so kindly called me to report the error won't return my calls or emails. If you are reading this Metropolitan Movers, refer to file 109210. Thanks for your reply Metropolitan Movers. We've got a problem. The refund hasn't been made and if anyone tried to call, my call display isn't showing it. I left at least 5 voicemail messages and spoke to customer service twice. Is there a way to connect with you offline? The refund on my credit card was received yesterday. Thank you. It's unfortunate that I had to resort to social media for resolution.

    2 Part Move

    Booked this company to move us from our 3 bed house to a condo. The move was to be in 2 parts with the first part our move out of the house, a few items to be moved to our daughters home and the remaining items to storage for 13 days until the condo became available. This part of the move was handled very professionally. They arrived on time, worked quickly and handled or items with care. The problems came with the second part of the move. The boss was present at the first part but not 2nd. What a difference. Our move was to take place at 12 noon. No one showed. Received a call about 45 minutes late stating they had equipment trouble ( seems like a common problem according to other reviews) and wouldn't arrive till 4 PM. No one showed so I called the office about 4:30 and was told they would try to contact the crew and get back to me within a few minutes. Had to call again after a half hour. They said they couldn't raise the crew. After several more calls to the office to no avail we finally got a call from the crew that they were at the warehouse loading our stuff and would be there shortly. The crew member, Carlos I believe, said that the delay was all his fault. He had to pay his rent. I asked what he meant by this and he said he had another job. Double booked, another re-occurring theme in reviews. They finally arrived at 7:30 pm, 7 and a half hours late. We had both booked off work and lost a days pay each for nothing. We would have been home hours before the truck finally arrived had we actually gone to work. We had some harsh words when Carlos attempted to make excuses. When the move was completed we asked for compensation for our lost time and they flatly refused. Carlos stated that he nearly broke his back wrestling our furniture up the stairs and wasn't willing to compromise on any compensation. We told him that was what we contracted him to do. His response to us was that we should have bought better house. He finally contacted his boss and then offered us 10%. That wasn't acceptable compensation for a whole day lost and what we knew would be a long night just getting enough put away so that we could get some sleep for work early next morning. The phone was passed to me and after discussion with the boss we agreed to 20%. Just to add another point to emphasize the very unprofessional manner that this was handled Carlos, out of my hearing, called my wife an extremely obscene name. You can surmise what was said. Nice and oh so professional. Would I recommend this company, not a chance.

    This is not a professional company!

    Please do your research before hiring this company. They arrived at 9:20am with a truck too small and left at 2pm without finishing, saying there was no more space and that we should find someone else to move and store the rest. This is impossible to do last minute so basically we were helpless. They claimed it was our responsibility to know the size of their trucks? After many frantic calls they finally agreed to return and eventually came back at 11:00pm for the rest.... for an additional charge, of course. This incompetent company, with whom we had prearranged 5 days of storage, now said they would be charging us double storage and double truck/manpower because they couldn’t fit our stuff into the small truck they showed up with in the first place. The nightmare wasn't over though. When our furniture was returned almost all of it was damaged because they had not use any blankets when loading from storage to truck. Not one piece was covered or protected. Everything, even mirrors and wall art, was just piled into the truck and left to rattle around. We were shocked to find all our wood furniture was damaged, our glass table was scratched, our leather furniture scuffed. Most of it now requires professional restoration. We were never told truck size could be an issue, they never said where our 2 separate loads of furniture were stored, they left us stranded for 9 hours, they had no interest in seeing the damage, they offered no compensation and they never showed us a detailed invoice. For a 13 km move, and for damaging our furniture, they tried threatening us into paying over $3500! Our cleaning and repair costs will by far exceed this amount. Do your research and save yourself lots of grief. Their customer service is non existent and/or simply doesn't care so they won’t help you and they likely have no insurance even though they originally told us they did.     Movers

    Excellent service . They arrived on time and the move was stress free. For them everything was easy, they were professional means experient. I am really satisfied with this company .
