    Hot water tank leak repair/replacement.

Kody - reliance I realized I had a leak coming from my hot water tank after finding a pool of water in the basement. I called for service and was scheduled for 2 days later. The repair technician (Kody) arrived promptly that morning and after assessing the situation found the problem to be more extensive than I had thought and made the decision to change out the tank for a new one. He had what he needed in his truck and was able to make the repair right away for this rental unit. He was very efficient, professional and overall did a great job of dealing with the old and installing the new. I was very pleased with the quality of the work performed by Kody and would 100% recommend him for a service call. Thanks for the great work Kody!

    Horrible wait times for service

Reliance is really quick to get in your home for consultations and sell you on a new furnace and AC unit . They sold us on renting the furnace and AC unit so it’s lifetime warranty and lifetime free maintenance But when you want that same equipment maintained as per the contract that they are supposed to cover for life they tell you they can’t come out for at least 2.5 months . When asked why so long of a wait time the lady on the phone said that we should have called and booked sooner ! very displeased with how they are operating .

    Annual furnace maintainance

Service man arrived today (Oct 7/21). Best service person we have ever dealt with. Extremely knowledgeable and took the time to explain everything he was doing. His people skills are outstanding and he made sure I was comfortable with everything he explained. When it is time for our air conditioning service I want this Reliance service person to return. Great, Reliance thanks for employing such skilled and personable people. I will recommend your company to all of my friends.

    Rental of Wall Furnace

Rental payments approx.. 81.00 billed quarterly. I purchased a small home in 2012, that the previous owners had a wall mounted gas space heater rented from Reliance Home Comfort. After possession of the home, I contacted the company requesting an account to be set up in my name. I continued to rent this heater and make the rental payments. This home was a rental property for me so this made sense at the time. In 2019 during a annual maintenance service, the technician advised that the firebox on the unit was cracked and a replacement was needed. This was done successfully. In August of 2021, the tenant advised that the CO2 detectors were going off in the home. I contacted Reliance for a service check. Again it was reported that unit had a cracked firebox. The technician explained that it will be an ongoing issue due to the way the unit was venting. It was best that I change the style and go with a direct vent furnace. I contacted Reliance and requested an upgrade to the furnace, understanding that the rental amount would increase as well that additional expenses for running the appropriate gas lines. After several attempts to follow up with Reliance to schedule when this could be completed, I received notice that the tenant was vacating the property at the end of September. (lack of heat) Anyway I called around to find a solution to obtain an adequate heating source for the home. I called Reliance, asking to cancel the new furnace upgrade request (which they had no record of ?) as well as requesting to close my account. I was told that this would be cancelling the contract early on my part and to do so I would have to pay them 6000.00. I then received a call from another source saying that it was reported to them that the damaged wall furnace is still in the unit and the gas feeding it was only turned off. The unit was not flagged /tagged as damaged and anyone could easily turn the gas back on and use the furnace. I was given notice that I could not rent out the home until all safety violations have been corrected. Since then I have reached out to Reliance by call and email requesting that their damaged equipment be removed from the property immediately. I have also requested that I be provided with a copy of the sign contract I have with them (which I dont) a copy of the terms and conditions that they feel I had agreed too, a copy of all the transcripts and voice recordings for every call that I made to them. I have yet to get a response. The damaged unit is still in the home. So my 1 star rating is actually 0. I strongly advise that consumers read the BBB reviews and complaints. I also advise every one to contact Reliance today and request the same so they understand what kind of contract Reliance has placed on their rental equipment. Then I advise all to get a lawyer. The BBB shows that some consumers have had liens placed on their homes by this company.

    Don't use this company!!!

Don't use this company I had a hot water tank that was with Union gas but when they didn't do rentals reliance took over. I paid for this rental for 20 years and when I told them to come pick the water heater they told me we had to bring it to them when I wouldn't renew with them. They are the worst Do yourself a favor and tell everybody you know not to use them.

    Annual boiler maintenance

I have been a client of Reliance for several years for the annual maintenance of my boiler. The maintenance service took place last week. As the technician was about to leave, I was surprised to see that he had not done the carbon monoxide test. So I asked him and he replied: 'oh you are right I forgot to do it'. He returned to his truck to retrieve the equipment. Is it the customer who should remind the technician how to do his job ??? I called Reliance the day after to report the problem. It took me three phone calls and over 1 1/2 hour of my time to get someone from the Resolution department - seems that Reliance, after being not able to hire qualified technicians, prefers to hang up and don't want to talk to their dissatisfied customers. A new maintenance service is scheduled for next week, which will cause disturbance to my tenants and take again 2 hours of my time since I have to be on site. So much time and money wasted!!! And by the way: if you have a boiler (not a standard furnace), I have been told by the Resolution department that a technician sent on-site may not be qualified to service a boiler. I cannot trust this company anymore.
