    Excellent customer service by Louis Zheng Lu

    Our AC unfortunately broke during Toronto's heat wave. Reliance sent a fantastic sales rep named Louis Zheng Lu. He was well informed and efficient. Louis was able to book our installation very quickly considering its a long weekend. Thank you Louis

    Hot water tank replacement

    Mathew was very good at his job Friendly and did a excellent job I am in the trade so I think I know how it should be done and he did

    Aircondtion

    Great service and technition ROB ID 3448 ROB had lots of knowledge he was polit and new what my aircondtion needs he was patient thanks ROB for great service and thanks to reliance

    Repairman took the time needed

    It was a sweltering day and our AC repair took quite a bit longer than anticipated. Tony Dipropero reassured us that he would not leave until he had done all the correct trouble shooting to investigate and solve the issue, and he did. He kept us informed throughout and was very professional and courteous and thorough.

    Replacement central air unit

    The reliance team arrived the next day after our initial call to have our 35 year old central air unit replaced. The new tech offered is easy to use like a cell phone. Excellent, prompt and extraordinarily courteous service from start to finish. Definitely experts in their field. Highly recommended.

    Disappointed... we could have been long time customers

    All I have to say is that my wife and I were really disappointed with the folks at Reliance in Durham Region. We bought our house 8 years ago and had a nearly new top of the line Carrier AC unit come with our home. However there seemed to be an issue... it was hot upstairs. Really hot. After speaking to some friends about it we called Reliance and said it was very hot upstairs. To their credit they sent someone the next day (they have a great customer help line and a great turn around time) however all the tech said was "yep... that's what it's like in 2 story homes" and that was it. So while annoyed we just let it go. A year or two later we had a leak and they sent someone out right away. They fixed the leak (although it just started leaking in a few hours again) but again we asked about the heat upstairs. The guy said the same thing.. that was normal in two story houses. His only suggestion was getting some electric vents that sucked the cool air upstairs more. A year or so later we heard a weird crackling noise we'd never heard before so we called Reliance (we didn't know much about furnaces). Again sent someone out right away, they fixed the crackling, explained it which was great... but again we asked about the heat. The tech did a bit more looking around at the unit and said there were nothing wrong with it. Cut to last month and the Carrier unit died. So I called Reliance and one of their competitors to get quotes. The Reliance person came in and gave us her pitch and pointed out how poorly the AC unit we had was installed and that Carrier wasn't that great and what she had to offer would be better and should help upstairs. I guess she didn't realize that we were with Reliance already and they would have been the ones to install it. They gave us the price quote which was fine and that was that. A day later their competitor comes in and says the unit looks like it was installed/built fine but the damper was open and it should have been CLOSED. He said that would lessen the cooling upstairs because all the air would just stay in the basement. So just based on that comment I went with the competitor. Here we are a month later during a very hot spell and the upstairs in our home is cool and comfortable and so great. It's never felt like this in the 8 years we've had the house. Keep in mind the unit was only 2 years old when we moved in. So Reliance lost my business because 3 techs and a sales rep didn't notice that my damper was open. I feel silly for not knowing what a damper was but I would have expected Reliance to figure that out. If I were you I would give serious consideration to someone else if you expect knowledgeable service calls to your house. On the plus side they do have a great turn around but if the techs aren't going to be helpful (see the leak issue mentioned above) it's not much good.

    Furnace electrical repair

    Great service, our technician Ruel went above and beyond what he was required to do in helping us fix our electrical that was connecting our furnace to our thermostat. Thanks again for helping us out when we really needed it.

    Instalation of new rented furnace and air conditioner

    I called the Reliance office on June 26. A very able and coherent technician, Thavas, advised us of the need for replacements. He called a Home Comfort Advisor, Rebecca Buchanan, who was at our home within an hour. Amazingly, Rebecca was able to arrange for installation teccnicians to attend the following day. They arrived yesterday at 10..00 AM and completed their work, entirely satisfactorily - including an important change worked out by Rebecca - by 9.00 PM. A truly remarkable achievement under Rebecca's guidance!

    Spring inspection

    This was the spring inspection of my air conditioning. The furnace is located in a crawl space that is not easily accessible. The technician was on time. Called me ahead and was polite and good-natured. He told me what he was doing and proceeded to get the job done in a timely fashion. I award six stars out of five!

    Water heater repair

    Great timely service! Professional and efficient. Thank you reliance. I will definitely recommend in the future. Repair was fast and was given great information regarding my furnace and water treatment.
