    Emergency water pipe burst

I currently live in Alberta but I own a house in North York. The tenants called me at 5 in the evening to tell me that a pipe in the kitchen had broken and was just gushing (of course it had to happen so close to thanksgiving when they had family staying over). I felt so bad and I didn’t know what to do!! After calling my sister (who lives in Toronto) she told me she just has a sump pump installed by Anta Plumbing and that she was really happy with the plumbers. She gave me the name of the guy that came to her house and the phone number. I called Anta Plumbing and although we couldn’t get the same guy I was very impressed with the timing. They realized the distress of the call and had someone out the same night. My tenants were beyond happy. The plumber even called me in Alberta to explain everything to me and the next steps were. Plus they sent my receipt by mail to me which I thought was fantastic! I would just like to say thank you so much Adrian! And the rest of the company! Thanks to your fast work my house does not have extensive water damage.

    Answer from pro:

Thank you Nadia (I love this name, so unique!) for your feedback, every day we have clients from almost all around the world getting to us with their problems like tenant in a condo downtown broke faucet apart and management is looking for the emergency plumber to fix it. Anta Plumbing is right there! We have good reputation for service when owners are not presented in a city, last month we had California client who has house here, 2 month ago we service condo with owner in Thailand. Europe is very popular distance in our database for the homeowners. We strongly believe that this is most trustful relationship must be to avoid conflicts. Company needs to make sure plumbers will be paid for the service, client must be sure that service will be done right and with no complications after. We keep e-mails, chat system on almost 24/7 to assist customer even by consultation, real time consultation. Check our chat system on the web site, it is so unique as your name! We really appreciate your cooperation and friendly way of dealing with this matter on that stressful night. With best regards, Anta Team

    Service

I had a bad experience with plumbers before, But I have to say Anta Plumbing have the best customer service i`ve seen, I called the office and the staff was just amazing, knowledgeable, and very positive attitude, I told them that my drain in the kitchen sink didnt drain properly and after explaining to them they said that by what I`ve said it could be problem with grease because it is a common problem. They said they can send a plumber right away to verify the problem so an hour or so later Vlad came and we proceeded looking for the issue, After finding excessive amount of grease all the way out to the city drain pipe outside we continued with the job. After few hours of Vlad cleaning my drains the job was done. He cleaned up his work area and packed up and it looked like he was never there, even cleaner than it was before. He then showed me on camera and pipes were spotless. I thank Anta Plumbing for helping me and I would always use you and will recommend to anyone I know.

    Answer from pro:

Hi Gabriel, thank you for your feedback. Grease is very common problem in a kitchen pipes. Food left overs and frying pans make this happened. We recommend first of all take paper towels and absorb the oil from the cooking hardware, and than wash it with e-greaser. It works, and it keeps pipes out of blockages. When you feel that water doesn't go down fast enough please take care about it immediately otherwise it will get solid blockage which cannot be broken even by power flashing equipment with 2000psi. Power jet is special jetting system designed to wash the inside pipe by pressurized water. It makes your pipe almost brand new as just built. The most important is too remember to keep drain guard on place and keep oily hardware away from the kitchen sink. Hope will not hear back from you for another couple years or so:) Anta Team

    leaking pipe repair

I called Anta to repair a leaking pipe. The technician could not fix the job that day but charged for the service call. He quoted $800 with tax for the job but the job only took less than 1.5 hour. My contractor told me the price for the job was absolutely ridiculous. The technician also turned on turned on outside water after I had already turned off the water and drained the outside pipes. I contacted Anta to say I thought the price was not justified but was told that it is up to the technician to set the price. I will not use Anta again as the pricing is not controlled. Technicians can charge $600/hr. Update-Oct 27th. I contacted Anta today to discuss my review as requested. The representative listened to my account of the situation and apologized. Anta graciously offered to refund the price of the repair and evaluate their process on pricing jobs. I feel this was a positive outcome and appreciate the company's willingness to respond to this issue.

    Answer from pro:

Hi Esther, we appreciate your call to the office and explanation of your concern. We found by your description that the job was priced based on our existing price book; and the quote was presented to you before the project started. It makes our presentation perfect, till this point. Plumber temporarily fixed the problem during the first visit ($180 plus tax – it is not a “service call charge” just to clarify the terminology); and plumber provided the quote to solve the problem permanently. Customer agreed to the offer and booked the appointment the day after. Technician arrived the next day as promised to install new kitchen stack. The job was done in an hour and half (p.s. 27 years of experience plus high level of qualification play huge role in a speed of installation, just for the information). NEGATIVE point - plumber worked too fast! We have a plumber who does this job in a 5.5 hours, we have a plumber who will work with kitchen stack for 3 hours. We have a plumber with 5 years of experience, with 10 years, we have apprentices, etc. Last week we had customer who asked us to finish the job in a 5 hours instead of 12 scheduled for his project ( because he was flying away that day). We try to make even impossible service possible:) To avoid any questions and make it easier we have a price book; and all plumbers follow it. We give choices to the customers to refuse or accept the quote at no charge. The plumber was at this house one more time after for complimentary services to cap the water pipe on his own time and free materials. Total - 3 times plumber visited this house. I will say he did a great job; it was really nice for him to do free service to prove that customer service is not all about money. The day the customer called the office she explained her opinion and office dispatcher gave her a refund FOR FULL AMOUNT (because we believe that it is customer’s choice to accept our work or not). Anta is very happy that we were able to assist this customer to make her happy, the same as another customer of ours - senior lady with her faucet repair and she made the choice to pay her bill; and she is very happy with the same plumber as well :) Anta Team is Team of homeowners, we do care for you as customers, and for us as a company to build our community better even if it costs us money. With best regards, Anta Team.

    Bathroom Renovation

Without Prejudice. I found AnTa Plumbing through Home Stars. The initial two employees of Anta were polite, efficient, worked steadily and took away all debris. This first visit was to rough in the plumbing for the stand-alone shower controls, rainhead, bathtub filler and the toilet. The second visit was to rough in the plumbing for the vanity sink. The next visit was to install the bathtub drain/overflow under very difficult circumstances (the pipe was flush to the joist) . The next visit was to install the final fixtures in the completely tiled bathroom. Unfortunately, it was discovered that the plumber had FAILED TO INSTALL THE HAND SHOWER SHUT OFF VALVE at the rough-in stage. He marked an area of about 12 tiles that had to be removed along with the waterproofing and drywall so that he could come back and install the FORGOTTEN VALVE. This same plumber who had FORGOTTEN the shut off valve had made another mistake by marking the WRONG tiles for removal. He didn't realize his second mistake until he installed the shut off valve in the wrong place and couldn't shut off the water. So he then made his THIRD attempt to finally install the shut-off valve in the correct place. The plumber paid for some of the work that had to be done but he refused to reimburse me for my tiler's costs. The company would not respond to my calls, emails or texts. I understand that this plumber is no longer with Anta and has created his own plumbing business. This case was settled to my satisfaction by the Small Claims Court on February 7, 2017.

    Answer from pro:

Thank you Shirlee, it was a pleasure to work and cooperate with you as well. We found out it is very important to have support from the homeowners. Plumbing job especially if we are talking about rough-in is very unique in sense of thousand small details will have built smooth shape of relationship between plumbers and homeowners. It has to be done precise, it needs couple visits on a specific time of renovations, it requires full plumber’s attention to the project, and on the same time office has to work in a cooperation between plumber and homeowner . We try to do perfect at every step, we do mistakes, you will believe or not, it is very hard to build trust and it is even more difficult to get trust back. That is why so important to keep every stage is in a perfect level of customer service. We love what we do, and we appreciate your support and cooperation. With best wishes, Anta Team

    Leaking pipes

I have now used Anta twice and they are fantastic. The first time an outside pipe burst and water was leaking in the basement. They came right away, found the leak and fixed the problem quickly. The second time we noticed water stains on the ceiling of a bathroom. They again found the problem quickly (leaking pipe in the bathroom above that was never soldered properly) and fixed it right away. They also fixed a toilet we've been having issues with forever. They really know their stuff and they are incredibility professional and pleasant. They were recommended to me by a neighbour and I will absolutely recommend them.

    Answer from pro:

Thank you Rita! We keep only professional plumbers; we screen them for many years, and control every call, keep track of every visit, notices and complain. We do make meetings to discuss our faults and reward great presentation. In the end of the year plumbers with more positive feedbacks getting to Caribbean with their family, or cottage up north to get rest and enjoy the appreciation not only from us as a company but more from you as customers. These days it is hard to find right people to live with them 10-12 hours at work every day. Anta has unique company structure inside, we choose new people all together! It is not management make decision, it is all company screening new plumbers, quality of their work, professionalism, politeness, appropriate behavior, team cooperation. Sometimes we have 3-4 plumbers on one job site to get things done which is almost impossible to finish. Team is the cell of full healthy organism; each plumber is like that cell. We like our clients, and we need to make sure we send right people to work. We wish you and your family nice and warm fall time with bight leaves and nice sunny days. Anta Team

    Plumbing (drain blockage)

We called Anta to clear a blockage in a drain that was connected to the kitchen, laundry sink and washing machine. The receptionist was very nice and was able to schedule an appointment the same day. When the plumber arrived, I explained the situation and showed him a picture of pipe/drain configuration. He decided that the best course of action was to snake through the laundry sink. There was a bit of a struggle in the first attempt, as he could not even get the snake to reach the problem area. The second attempt was the same, and it appeared as though he had difficulty even getting the snake back out. He took a picture of the configuration with his cell phone and advised that the drainage was installed completedy wrong. Although he was probably correct, why didn't he do this assessment prior to performing the snake? To top it off, he wanted to charge the entire amount of the snaking service (at that point, he was there less than an hour) even though he did not provide any solution. His alternative solution was to rip everything out, and re-install the entire configuration the "proper" way (estimated cost $2000+). No thanks. In the end, I was fortunate enough to get a hold of another company that day, which was able to perform the snake successfully for me.

    Answer from pro:

Thank you Vu for your opinion! It is important to us to find the mistakes in a service to avoid this in a future with other customers. I would like to work with this case more details to find out our mistakes for you. Let's take more precise look at this case. Plumber arrived to your house at 4.28pm, he left your house at 5.55pm. As you can see by GPS (we watch our plumbers from the office and control their movement very precisely. 1,5 hours he was working on your case, snaking the plumbing which was not up to code, pushing and pulling with snake equipment, disturbing the inside blockage. In those cases we have chance to break the equipment, and the chances are very high. That is why all drain pipes are built with clean-outs, 45 degree turn, Y-connection to make sure if you ever need to snake it will be possible to make it. After 1,5 hour plumber recommended to you to re-do the plumbing and left you the quote to make it right and proper. As I can see the charge was $140, not $200 as per your explanation. You called another plumber and he was able to push finally all that blockage further. I will tell you the story which happened a lot with us as well: customer gets plumber, that poor guy is trying and fighting with snake (even brake the snakes), customer is angry, and kicking them out ; customer is calling next plumber, at this time disturbed blockage starting loosing up (physical press work as chemicals - WITH TIME) Then we are coming and with almost a finger pushing all that blockage and look like a hero. The only difference is our plumbers knows that it is not our snakes or our professionalism, it is just a luck that we were in a right time to meet loosen up blockage. Don’t be mad at that plumber, he is a really professional plumber, he tried his best but it is your decision to do or leave it as is. We wish to be the "second plumber" always, but plumbing is a tough trade, and everybody gets there "peanuts". We looked at your case in more detail at the office, and we found out that probably it was the office staff fault from the beginning for not explaining it clearly to you as a customer that snake is very dangerous service, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t in your plumbing system. We will try to explain to customers more about snaking, we found out a lot of clients think that snaking is "ok" to your plumbing. THIS IS NOT! Plumbing that is up to code and is been used properly will never be blocked, snaking by vibration is destroying and breaking the pipe connections, most of the time you will have leaky pipes pretty soon, especially if plumbing was done wrong and is not discharging smoothly by gravity as it supposed to . I wish to have this information clear to every homeowner every time we have request for snaking. Thank you for your support in our work procedure – we will explain the procedure better next time to our valued customers. With best wishes Anta Plumbing Team

    pipe extension

We shifted our washer/dryer from the kitchen into the bedroom, so a pipe extension/venting/pump was required. Eddie from Anta provided a quote and started work the next day, which was a pleasant surprise. He completed the work quickly and expertly. I will be using Anta again for future plumbing jobs.

    Answer from pro:

Thank you Pauline for your feedback! Edi is our "treasure"; he is our experienced, educated, and friendly plumber. His expertise is not only above ground plumbing, he also specializes in underground plumbing. Plumbing is everything, once you open door to your house – if you use a cup, you need to wash it! Need some rest - take a shower, the flowers in your garden are waiting to be watered. Everywhere you turn to in the house most likely require some sort of plumbing. That is why plumbers train for so long, like doctors they need to be experts at what they do. They need to protect your water from bacteria, they need figure out how to build a system to heat the house in the winter that will work and keep you warm, they need to build showers and they have to know how to find the roots in a sewer pipe under the floor. All those "needs" make our services even more difficult, in a sense that we need to find the right candidates, especially with such a limited number of qualified plumbers in the market (everybody wants to become lawyers, doctors, or teachers these days, trades are not in a very high position on the "wish list"). Anta Plumbers are unique, and we hope to bring more quality to your property, and make your house more efficient and comfortable. Please call us any time and tell us exactly what you are experiencing problems with, we have dispatchers who are better than some plumbers in city. If you feel that you need more attention, let us know we are not here to make money off our customers; we are here to build stability and strong future. Anta Team, Plumbing with care!

    Kitchen sink fix

Unsuspecting, we bought a house with a lot of plumbing issues. Tree roots, lots of DIY patchwork fixes not to code; it's a disaster. So in the last 3 years we've tried at least 5 different plumbing companies for a variety of problems. Igor from Anta was terrific. He took his time to explain the problem and potential solutions. He fixed the problem and was extremely considerate about clean up. This is the first plumbing company I feel like I can trust. I will definitely be calling them again for our next plumbing job.

    Answer from pro:

Igor, Igor... He works on every case so seriously and with all his responsibility, plus the company enrolls him every year in new classes to upgrade his skills. Not only is plumbing science in his pocket at the moment. Hard to find plumbers like him, that’s for sure. A lot of experience, very precise, we are very proud to help him to grow his career in the 8 years he works with us, he does jobs better than plumbers with 30 years of experience. These days it is not so easy to find plumbers like him. Commercial projects, industrial new constructions, you name it.... It takes us time to build strong team because we work with every plumber very personally. We send them back to school to assist the customer better and with a high level of customer service. Every new tech who comes to ask us if it is possible to become a good plumber in a 3 years. No! Our record - 8 years. Thank you Gilbert for your feedback on our tech, we really work hard to find weak and blind spots, and fill them up with knowledge new technology and most importantly - outstanding customer service. Your opinion makes us feel that we are on the right track. Every day brings us difficult tasks, but it is easier to deal with this when we send technicians to the customer and are 100% sure that they will represent the company proudly! I think this year Igor will be the winner (they play the game btw plumbers - better performance - Caribbean 1 week vacation). Last year Igor won the category - best young plumber and get Christmas cottage for him and his family.

    Sewer Re-Route to City Connection

AnTa is the BEST!! We had to redirect our sewer line to city street connection. Numerous contractors came in saying we would lose our parking pad, basement floor and porch. AnTa came in saved ALL of them (the basement floor needs to be repaired as they had to trench but they did minimal damage). They also had the most reasonable quote and started THE NEXT MORNING!! Consider yourself lucky if you get to deal with Yuri and his team. They stuck to the quote, timeline and cleaned up amazingly after themselves. Look no further AnTa is FANTASTIC.

    Answer from pro:

Thank you Jillian, your case is very interesting, it is rare case first of all, and not a lot of houses are left with no connection to the main sewer line. We deal with situation like yours in Mississauga, Brampton, and sometime Scarborough. Most of the houses are already serviced by City of Toronto. Anta technicians really appreciate your cooperation with us, I wish all customers would be like your family - e-mails, phone, and quick responses. I know most customers put there characteristics when they r talking about contractors, but I need to tell you the truth - for us to make job smooth it is very important to get in touch with the owner at any second to update, to arrange inspectors visit, to send extra crew, to provide final installation as fast as possible (owners are not always able to use facility at the time of repair) Cooperation and positive attitude make a huge difference! Thank you for being patient and very kind to our crews. We sent you the rebate forms; it will make some relief to your budget and please don't forget about maintenance of the back water valve. Before heavy rain season check the YELLOW flapper, it must be FULLY OPEN. Check our video on ANTA web site or give us a call, we are 24/7, and really any time is fine! With best regards, Anta Team

    Back Water Valve

I had a plumber install a Back Water Valve last year in my basement because I was experiencing sewage back up. Last week my husband went into the basement to find that once again this had happened. I couldn't find the number for the plumber that did it last time so I decided to starting researching plumbers in my area. I had remembered my Aunt recommended Anta plumbing to me as she was so satisfied with the job Rulin did at her house (uninstalling her toilet removing the clog and reassembling it, as well as fixing a problem with her kitchen sink drain. I called anta plumbing and in less than 5 hours they had a technician come out to my house to assess what needed to be done. The gentleman that came to my house was so professional and really knew what he was talking about. He reassured me that everything would be taken care of. I was so relived. Two days later I had a crew out to my house at 9 in the morning I was so happy that Anta plumbing could come out so fast and did such a great job! I will be using anta plumbing for now on and will for sure be recommending them to my friends and family!!! Thanks Anta and team!!

    Answer from pro:

Thank you Angela for such a detailed review! We are very precise at work, but you really make us! It was a pleasure to work at your house, the crew really appreciated the coffee and donuts, they all carry lunch boxes with them but this attention makes them kinder, originally they are very tough; it is make them smile. Drain repair is a very difficult and physical job, a lot of experience is required to make job right. Every house is unique, built in a different century and under different plumbing codes! Yes, even code was changed over the years, the technician has to have knowledge of house from 1890 to 2014 (honestly, new house always worse than the old one if we r talking about plumbing structure). Call us before you make your final decision “to buy or not to buy” (cannot believe it, Shakespeare was so right :). To be serious we are working even when we sleep because our commitment is to you.
