Drywall Contractor
- Any drywall project may involve drywall stripping or doing drywall repair patches, which can appear to be a botched job if not done with the right equipment. Hiring a contractor will ensure that they use the right tools like a drywall stripper etc. to do a clean and seamless job.
- Another critical reason to hire a professional for the job is to make sure that the corners of the wall are as seamless as the walls. Contractors use various things like mesh drywall tape or drywall joint tape to produce clean lines, which lend a better finish.
- If you are wondering how to fix screw holes in drywall, a contractor can also help you with the same. If you want to display artwork in a new space, they can also explain the pros and cons of drywall screws vs wood screws to help you choose the best option. In certain cases, they may also recommend a butterfly drywall anchor which can offer a more snug and secure hold for your paintings.
- While the actual cost of the project will depend on many factors, an average drywall project in Edmonton costs approximately $8,225.
Plastering
- After the drywall is installed, you can choose to get a plastering job done on the walls. It will help lend a smooth look to the walls and make the paint appear better while also giving additional protection to the walls. An average plastering project in Edmonton can cost up to $1,300.

How long should I wait to paint over exterior stucco?
Anonymous user 09/07/2026 - 9:20 AM
Hi, we just got the front of our house done with sand and cement render. It's January, so it's pretty chilly, and it was applied about a week ago. A painter mentioned it's okay to go ahead and paint now as long as we use a stabiliser or solvent-based primer first which is convenient since we still have the scaffolding set up. However, we've also been told by people that external render can take anywhere from 6 weeks to 3 months to fully dry. So, its a bit confusing to know what to do. How long should we actually wait before painting the new external render? And how do I check if it's completely dry? Keeping in mind that it's the middle of the cold season. Thanks a lot for the help!

Cracks along corner metal are appearing in drywall. Would you feather new mud or would you remove old mud, tighten the metal, and re-mud?
