    Carpeting

We had smoke damage from a fire that ruined the great work Lehel and Timea's team had done for us. We did not hesitate to go back and ask them to do it all again and more! They are fantastic to deal with, and quick to resolve any issues you may have. When we first had our floors done by Alliance, Lehel had the opportunity to say we needed all new flooring rather than a simple refurbishing. But he didn't. I appreciated that honesty. Courteous, fun to do business with, and extremely knowledgeable, they are the best in the city.

    Hardwood floor

I received from the Alliance Floor Source: 1. Professional advice in choosing the right product (engineered hardwood floor by Satin Finish in my case). 2. Flexible installation time tailored to my needs. 3. Excellent & fast installation - three bedrooms & the hall within 10 hours without any break!. 4. Full satisfaction for the excellent service. I couldn't expect anything better than that.

    Laminate Flooring

I went into the store two days ago and I'm sure I was driving them crazy with all my questions. I have done several flooring projects using both big-box laminate and a local specialty flooring store and no one has ever been so helpful, answering all of my questions and giving me a free advice. The price was better than expected, the delivery was on time and the driver was very courteous. Even though there is a flooring store 2 minutes from my house that sells the exact same product, I won't hesitate to drive 30 minutes to go back to Alliance for all of my flooring needs. Refinish Oakwood Strip Flooring ~740 Sqft + Stained Oak Vents

While far from the cheapest Alliance Floor Source delivered the work as per the expectations that were set. The colour matched, the work was good and I'm satisfied with how my floors look. I do feel though for the price paid that there were too many itemizations that should have been included in the overall proposal upfront. (edit: to be fair and clarify the additional costs were clearly stated upfront and Lehal gave me the option to choose what I wanted to pay for versus what I opted to do on my own. i.e. there were no hidden fees/costs). I opted to do some of these to keep the costs down -- remove all closet doors and quarter round.

    Answer from pro:

Hi Jake, Thank you for this review. It is nice to finally hear from you. We thought you forgot about us since we completed the project a long time ago. We don’t like hounding people for a review more than requesting it once. As you can tell from reading the many reviews we receive we normally don't, but after reading yours, I felt that I should respond to it to clarify for others who may read it. When our mechanics have to work with any number of items, that maybe considered small or trivial by some, additional to the basic ones, we have to pay them for their effort and/or time spent whether we included these items free of charge to the Client or charge for them. This is how they are making their living on a daily bases. These additional items can NOT be free or included in the "base" price since one person may need them done but another person may not have any of these applicable, so if it would be "included" or "allowed for" we would automatically be less competitive than the competition that in most cases “low balls” over the phone. Thus they are quoted separately. They were quoted to you in the "overall proposal" during or after the Site Visit but definitely before you decided how, when or if you wanted to proceed. They were NOT given/charged to you after we started or upon the arrival of the crew. Your statement in your review can easily be misinterpreted. This is simply not our style. The quarter round we always mention when the client first calls us for the free estimate as it is a recurring item that we need to deal with more often than not. I admit we (and in your case it was me, so I) should (and likely have) asked for the type of doors you have during that conversation over the phone, but this is not a frequently occurring issue as most houses have doors that open instead of slide. We can only base an "up front proposal", otherwise known as a free estimate over the telephone, on the information that is provided by the potential Customer. Should you feel that the above explanation is satisfactory and you were otherwise happy with our service and its corresponding value, you have the option of going back in and changing the score you gave us. Either direction, as you see fit. Again, I would like to thank you for your business and we look forward to seeing you back as a Customer or anyone you may recommend to us. Lehel Fabok, Owner.

    Engineered flooring in condo

I needed flooring installed in my rented condo while it became vacant. Alliance was able to secure the flooring from the manufacturer at a reduced rate, saved me money, and delivered prompt efficient service. The new floor looks great!

    Hardwood floor installation

Our existing hardwood floors were about 40 years old and were very squeaky, so we decided to replace the floors. After reviewing Homestars we called a couple of companies, and chose Alliance. I went to the showroom and spoke with Nemo. He was very helpful and narrowed down our choices based on our needs. He pointed us to a high quality product that was on sale at the time. The job took a couple of weeks as we required removal of existing hardwood, installation of subfloor and finally installation of the hardwood. Also we needed one area to be complete so we could shift furniture around. The Alliance team was very good in working with our needs and everything was started on time and completed on time. The installers worked a couple of late nights and that was appreciated. We have now had this product for a couple of months and it looks great and feels solid. The only quibble I have is that there are a couple of minor squeaks (to be fair they did say it is hard to be completely squeak free) and a minor scratch to the wall during installation. However I would recommend this company as they are very professional.

    Replace tiles on kitchen floor

I discovered Alliance Floor Source when I was shopping at an adjacent bakeware store. I was impressed with the variety of flooring they carried and especially because I found just what I was looking for, after having been unsuccessful at other flooring establishments. I received good advice and guidance in my choice after stating my needs. Lehel, the owner, subsequently visited my home (arriving promptly at the promised time), to measure and make further useful suggestions. The installers arrived on schedule. They were courteous, skilled workers. They removed the old tiles and installed the new with friendly professionalism, attending meticulously to all the finishing details. They left my home as clean as they found it, removing all the debris associated with their work. I'm very pleased with my new floor and would happily recommend Alliance Floor Source to any of my family and friends.

    Flooring Replacement for Condo

I purchased a fixer upper condo which neede to have all of the old carpet and tile removed. Aftr finding product I liked, I chose Alliance based on their customer reviews. I wasn't disappointed - they were professional and completed my project on time and with no complaints about the condo restrictions on working hours etc. They also responded to fix some boards which were less than perfect. Overall, I have been very happy with my floor and will recommend them to any of my friends and family.
