Review from HomeOwner Review left on 4 Dec 2013Rating: 5 out of 5After decades of heating with an oil furnace, we switched to natural gas. Belyea Brothers - who installed the new furnace - recommended Amosite for the removal of the old furnace and tank. Amosite was also contracted to remove asbestos wrap on the heating pipes in the furnace room. The team of four people arrived on schedule and within two hours had the furnace and tank out of the house. They actually cut the old tank in half in order to save us taking a door off its hinges. They then sealed off the furnace room and within three hours had the asbestos removed. The pipes are squeaky-clean - they look as if they were scrubbed with a wire brush at the end of the process. The gentlemen doing the work were courteous and answered all our questions. RecommendedReview from HomeOwner HomeOwner

After many years of living with asbestos wrap on our heating system we finally decided to have it removed. It was encapsulated but over time we feared that it might become a problem especially as we were planning an extensive renovation of the basement, which could potentially disturb the asbestos fibres. We really didn't want to close it in as part of the renovation and leave the problem for someone else down the line. Amosite was recommended to us by our furnace installer. David explained the procedure to us clearly and gave us what seemed to be a competitive quote. We were very happy with the work and the crew was efficient and careful. The affected areas were sealed off and all efforts were made to remove the material safely and cleanly. Thanks Amosite. Bob HallerReview from Clarence Halldorson Clarence Halldorson

Amosite was a referral by a friend. David called me back right away; arranged for an onsite inspection and quote the next day, and had his crew at our door the next morning. We were impressed by Amosite's responsiveness, knowledge, professionalism, and courtesy. They did a great job in no time at all. We are very happy and would recommend them to anyone. David, Angie, and the crew were wonderful. Thank you again. Clarence and BarbaraReview from HomeOwner HomeOwner

Amosite was a referral and I was very happy that it was. David was a professional at explaining the removal process. The job was completed promptly in a few hours. The crew were very polite and respectful. Angie and David scheduled the job efficiently. They supplied all lab work and air sample analysis paperwork to us for peace of mind that the job was done professionly. Very pleased with the results.Review from HomeOwner HomeOwner

Appt. easy to make. Punctual, 2 men arrived as per arranged. Respectful of my mothers home. Before starting the removal of the tank, they laid down sheets on all the flooring and stairs. Forewarned that the noise level would be high. When the gentlemen left, other than the oil tank being gone, you would never have known they had been there. Very pleased that they were in and out with the least amount of disruption. All contractors should be as efficient....David and Angie were the individuals I dealt with and I appreciated their timely responses.Review from HomeOwner HomeOwner

I was referred to David from another contractor I know. I hate to sound like I'm repeating the same words as a previous reviewer, but it's true. " They don't try to upsell you with scare tactics!!" The work was done right away to my satisfaction and after completion, the house was left as clean as before commencement. Dave was pleasant, professional and very helpful. Throughout the process, he always made time to answer all my questions when I called him even though he's a very busy person. I wouldn't hesitate to use him again in the future. Thank You Amosite.Review from HomeOwner HomeOwner

Amosite was recommended to me by a reputable company in furnace installation. Called David and he visited my house for an estimate to remove asbestos and my oil tank. He was on-time, courteous, and very upfront and honest. I gave him the contract. His team arrived at my house on-time (7 a.m.), they were polite and careful with my house. Everything was removed quickly and the results were better than I expected. Pleasant change to have high quality work done in my house. Thanks to the Amosite team. GaryReview from HomeOwner HomeOwner

Very friendly guy and fast up front service, but that is where it ends. They had to be called back a few times because the crew didn't remove all the asbestos the first time. The quoted amount was supposed to have been all inclusive, but when we received the bill it included extra charges for producing reports. We later learned that they charge 250 for lab reports that cost less than 50.Answer from pro:
The staff at Amosite strive for perfection. The 25 years of service has taught us to do the job right the first time. We have never been called back to finish a job due to poor workmanship .The company has never charged for post work reports and will continue to produce post work reports after every job at no extra charge. In 25 years we have never exceeded the written quote or charged extra or have hidden fees. A written quote is always provided before work commences. Sampling for asbestos involves a site visit by a licensed technician. This involves collecting the sample and having it couriered or personally transported to the lab. The sample is analyzed by the lab and interpreted by the technician. A report is written and emailed and followed by consultation with the client. The lab fees vary throughout North America. Amosite uses accredited local labs with 4-24hour turnaround on all samples. Typically these charges start at $150. Homeowners can often submit their own samples at a much reduced rate. We feel that this review is not indicative of how Amosite conducts business and we welcome all input on how to improve our services.

We were in the middle of a renovation project and discovered that we had asbestos-covered ducts in our house. We needed them removed promptly to avoid delaying the work. Amosite came to the house, did an inspection, and completed the job within a week. They were also on-time, cleaned-up nicely and kept to the original quote.Review from Dan Dan

David and company were remarkable. We found a little bit of asbestos in our walls. They removed it and did a fantastic job. Further, they were great in how they dealt with us as people. Of course, if you find anything that looks like asbestos in your house, you will be rather nervous about the situation. These guys are veterans, however. They did a great job at reassuring us that the situation at hand was nothing to get nervous about. They took all the precautions necessary to perform their service and took care of business. They are not into scare tactics to increase what they charge you. In fact, they are great in talking you off the ledge and making sure that you do not blow the situation out of proportion in your mind. If you need asbestos removal, you let them go in there and get the job done. When it is done, you move on with your life satisfied that you had pros take care of what you needed them to do. This company is a template for all other companies.
