We used BYG this summer for our pool project and I can’t say enough about how happy we are with the results. We were extremely impressed from start to finish with the personal care and attention provided by John, Dan, Aldo and the rest of the crew. They were all extremely professional, friendly, and a pleasure to deal with. The original estimate for completion was 4-6 weeks, and they completed the project in exactly 4 weeks from the first day they arrived on site to start the measurements and preparing for the excavation. The most comforting aspect about the whole project was the fact that the owner (John, and his father Aldo) was extremely hands on, and they personally performed a lot of the work themselves. All the work was performed with their own employees and nothing was contracted out (in some cases they contract the carpentry/fence work, although in our case they did the fence themselves as explained later), which allowed them to maintain control and deliver on the promised timeline. They were going to use the carpenter they typically contract out for the fence work, but because of delay in the city inspector site visit, his schedule didn’t match with our project, so Dan, Aldo and crew did the work themselves so that the completion of the project wouldn’t be delayed.
Aldo was on site every day to ensure everything was done perfectly and on time. The attention to detail was incredible - for example, I witnessed Aldo and the crew laying and relaying the paver stones until they were satisfied with the grading and leveling to ensure it was perfect. Dan (in charge of the design) was on site almost every day as well and showed so much professionalism and expertise in providing design recommendations and also in ensuring everything met with city by-laws and explained every detail and presented all the pros and cons for decisions that needed to be made – e.g., placement of pool equipment, location of cabana pad, location of electrical and gas lines etc. John was on site for a lot of the days – from operating the heavy machinery to personally installing the pool liner to ensure proper fit. On the days they weren’t there, both John and Dan were always available by phone/email/text and would respond immediately if I had any questions. John or Dan would also email me with almost daily progress updates letting us know exactly what stage they were at in the project. At the end of the project, John came over one evening and personally gave me a tutorial on how to work the pool equipment, and on the pool water chemistry. When John left that evening, he offered to answer any questions I might have in the future, and even though it’s been several weeks since the project was completed, John continues to respond immediately to any questions I have.
In the end they completed our project on time (exactly 4 weeks), on budget, and to the exact specifications we agreed to in our contract. They had us swimming and enjoying our pool/backyard just in time for what turned out to be the hottest week of the summer. I would highly recommend using BYG.
