I’ve always loved Barrymore, they have top of the line products. I’ve actually known about them for years. When we moved into our condo I really wanted to redecorate and refurnish. The sales woman who helped me was exceptional and I ended up buying four sofa chairs and a sofa. Even the delivery service was great! And after I had finished up with them Barrymore actually called to check in on me and see if I was enjoying the problem. Everyone knows that I love Barrymore and that I have some of their pieces (laughs).

I’ve been shopping with Barrymore for 20 years or so. Over the years I’ve bought 2 sofas, one from off the floor and one custom made, a 3 piece sofa, a rug, 2 crystal laps, large mirror, a coffee table. Come to think of it, basically my entire living room is Barrymore. Every time I’ve gone in I’ve had a fantastic experience. I go back over and over and everyone is great there. Often my daughter and I are recognized immediately. Sharon Wiseman assists me and always exceeds my expectations, she sends emails to check in and let me know what’s going on with the store. I have to say Sharon is a wonderful person always assisting me whether I have the walker or my wheelchair. When I worked with Linda, there was an issue with delivery charges and when I told her that I had a pervious arrangement where I wasn’t supposed to pay a fee, with no questions asked she waived it. Their delivery guys Ishmael and Dan became my own interior designers once when they delivered a few pieces for me, they were amazing. Everyone is just so hospitable. My lawyer who is 6”7 and quite a few pounds came over and sat in one of Barrymore chairs he was comfortable, relaxed and the chair didn’t lose its form (laughs)! I have so much respect for them and will continue to shop at Barrymore.

I went to Barrymore furniture today and had the most amazing customer service experience! Lucy not only showed me the style and scale of furniture I was looking for, but also explained and showed me ways to customize the sofa to make it further suit my short stature. I will gladly let everyone know about the tremendous service!

Just wanted you to know and pass on some info. My new couch is absolutely gorgeous! Just stunning! I would like to thank the saleswoman I dealt with: Natasha. She was patient and professional in dealing with someone who really didn’t know exactly what I was looking for. My neighbour tells me the delivery men were also wonderful. In all, the Barrymore experience was a very positive one and this is coming from someone who never enjoys the shopping experience. Thanks all!!

We experienced gracious assistance in the choosing and ordering of superbly crafted and upholstered chairs, now exquisitely complementing our home. The workmanship is incredible and flawless. Can't wait to find the need for more!

We were more than delighted with the whole process of getting our custom upholstery. Barrymore has a superb fabric room chock full of thousands of choices and Karen helped us select really great fabrics. Their showroom is also really beautiful and inspiring. We chose an Italian frame settee and a total of 6 accent chairs. We did have to wait almost 6 weeks for completion, but that's what custom jobs take apparently. The delivery guys were careful and polite - and our furniture is really lovely and comfy. And then we also spotted this very cool modern Italian credenza (on sale!) which now graces our dining room. So kudos to Barrymore for making me happy with my furniture - and I am generally quite fussy!!

Ordered a custom made sofa from Barrymore. Took delivery in Sept of 2013. Within the month started having problems with the fabric. Went back to dealer and even though the furniture restoration expert they sent out told me that he could not fix the fabric, it was not salvagable, they did nothing. I decided to go to the company and called VP K Ottenbrite in December. I sent her a video of the sofa's condition, we spoke on the phone and she seemed quite interested in resolving my problem . Now despite numerous emails which were acknowledged with her automatic 'Thanks for your email' message and several phone calls nothing is happening. She says she will call me back and never does. If this is customer service, I would hate to see customer disservice. Needless to say I am very frustrated and feel I am being ignored with the hope that I will just go away. I really don't know what else I can do.

I had written a review last year to explain my frustration and disappointment with the products. To Barrymore's credit, they sent an inspector who confirmed there were problems, picked up the pieces, reworked the furniture and returned it all at no cost. This service was reminiscent of the old Eaton's and Simpson's approach, and long vanished from the Toronto scene. My furniture is much improved upon. There were apparent issues with the fabric and its composition. I am pleased with the outcome, but wish it had not taken the HomeStars review to produce this result. Thanks to HS and Barrymore. I try to buy Canadian. Bought my first set at Barrymore 40 years ago; handed it on and is still in excellent shape. I have never been happy with this set bought 3 years ago: the cushions do not fit properly (Too Big?); the fabric "slides" around the cushion forms, and it looks worse as time goes by. Barrymore visited once and concluded all OK in the manufacturing process. Still looks a mess to me, and I live with it daily. Most disappointed.

Just walking through their enormous showroom is inspiring with all those incredible pieces of furniture. We purchased a sofa, 2 Ottomans, and 2 easy chairs from Barrymore Furniture. The quality, workmanship and service were exceptional. Even better, these guys really stand behind their products - something that's rare these days. They were able to custom build the sofa to the unique dimensions of our old house, and even custom built a cushion to fit the bench in our bay window in the same fabric. Highly recommended!
