    Hardwood Floor

I was in the store today and the lovely sales representative Rina helped me with my purchase. She was very knowledgeable and friendly. I walked in not knowing much about hardwoods but now I feel like an expert. I got great hardwood floors at an amazing price. I shopped around other stores, but Brampton Hardwoods has the best value. I am very satisfied with my purchase.

    Answer from pro:

    Hardwood Flooring

THEIR RESPONSE BELOW IS NOT THE TRUTH AT ALL AND NO MONEY WAS REFUNDED. BEWARE!!! - PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING - I have been involved in the construction industry for over 25 years and Brampton Hardwood Flooring has to be the most unethical trade I have ever dealt with. I purchased over 2,300 sf of walnut hardwood flooring from Brampton Hardwood Flooring and please read the below 2 major issues/problems I had that hopefully will keep you away: 1)The samples and products in the showroom will not be the same as what is delivered to your home. In my case, the quality and lengths were not to what Vandana and John sold me and what I saw in the showroom. I have to stress here that the quality (joints, milling, finish, consistency) of their product is inferior to what you can get at other stores. 2)They also push you to use their installers for two reasons. One so the installers do not reject the material delivered and two so they can take cash under the table from their installers. My installer Steve admitted to handing cash back to Vandana/Brampton Hardwood Flooring. I spend many many hour trying to resolve these issues with Brampton Hardwood Flooring with no result. I guess their policy of paying 100% of the bill before delivery works very well for them. I will be adding pictures to this post so please stay tuned. I also agree with other posts that they should probably be investigated for unprofessional, unethical practices. Thanks for reading. Brian

    Answer from pro:

Hi Brian. Sorry that it took us a while to look into your concerns. The slight delay was due to the long 2-year lapse of time since your purchase. We had not heard from you and therefore assumed that everything had been resolved to your complete satisfaction. You will recall that you came to see us 2-years ago seeking some walnut flooring. You were shopping on price point due to budget constraints and we therefore provided you many less expensive options to choose from. You ultimately selected a country grade walnut floor from one of our showroom samples. Country grade has more grain and closed knots than the more expensive premium grade walnut. Average board lengths are also slightly shorter, although due to the relatively smaller heights of walnut trees, even in premium grade walnut flooring the board lengths average only 3-4 feet maximum. You indicated that you did not mind and chose the lower grade as it was approximately 40% cheaper. Your concerns arose after commencing installation because when you tried to get the equal of a premium product at the lower price point. The flooring we provided was an exact match to our showroom sample and of excellent quality. However, when your contractor (we are only a retailer and do not install floors) was installing the flooring you had him pick through the material to only use the longer boards with less grain and closed knots. This obviously resulted in a shortage of material and surplus that you then wanted to return to us. Notwithstanding that we had fully completed our end of the bargain and were under no obligation to do so, as a good faith gesture to ensure a positive customer experience we offered to take back all of the flooring that you had improperly rejected and even waive our restocking fee. We did not hear back from you and therefore assumed at the time that you were satisfied, and we are therefore quite puzzled as to why you would now choose to leave this negative feedback so long after the fact. In any event, we hope that over the last couple of years you have enjoyed the beautiful walnut flooring you purchased from Brampton Hardwood Floors.

new laminate floors - 2 levels

Lina from the Gordon Mackay location is the best! After I had a negative experience at a different store, Lina redeemed what customer service is about. Lina was straightforward and great to deal with and very knowledgeable. Thanks Lina!

    Answer from pro:

We are pleased that you visited our new location at 36 Gordon Mackay Road in Toronto. After many years of excellent customer service by Lina and the rest of us at our Caledonia location, we recently moved to a much bigger building at the junction of Highways 400 & 401 (right beside the Leon's store) to better serve our growing clientele. Lina remembers you well and was keenly aware of the many poor customer experiences from our competitors. We get many clients coming to us from other hardwood flooring stores after being turned off by their indifferent attitudes, high pressure sales tactics and lower quality products at higher prices. All such customers are well taken care of and fully satisfied by the time they leave our stores. Thanks from all of us for your excellent rating and top score.

Purchase and Delivery of Laminate Flooring

in 30 minutes today, we shopped for, selected and purchased 750 sq ft of laminate flooring at an excellent price and it was delivered less than 3 hours later. Vandana Gupta is an excellent sales agent.

    Answer from pro:

Thanks for the excellent rating score and gracious comments, John. Brampton hardwood Floors are very proud of the efficient, convenient service we are able to provide to the nearly 30,000 customers that visit and purchase from us each year. We have the largest, most extensive in stock inventory around. What this means to our customers is no waiting. Almost everything in our showroom is on hand and ready for immediate pick-up or delivery. Even custom color or color match orders for products that are not in stock are completed for our customers quickly, often within a few days. None of our competitors can match our quick and easy "cash and carry" service, and their customers are often forced to pay for their purchase and then wait up to a week for their orders. Couple this convenience with our excellent quality, attentive customer service and low prices, and there really is no comparison to Brampton Hardwood Floors when it comes to purchasing hardwood flooring. Vandana and the rest of us here at Brampton Hardwood Floors wish you many years of enjoyment with your beautiful new laminate flooring.

    NEW FLOOR

We needed a good price for a small project. Lina at the Caledonia Rd location was very helpful. We would return for flooring in the future. I understand the store has moved. We were happy with her help.

    Answer from pro:

Hi Ron. Lina and all of us here at Brampton Hardwood Floors were pleased to assist you in getting the best quality hardwood at the lowest possible price. You are correct, in order to better serve our growing customer base, on August 15th our Toronto store moved from Caledonia Road location to a new, larger showroom and warehouse at 36 Gordon Mackay Road, Toronto (right beside the Leon's head office & store, west of Jane Street, near Hwy's 400 & 401.) We hope you will come visit us again very soon at our new store location. Thanks for your patronage, excellent rating and kind words of endorsement.

    Hardwood flooring

Stay clear of these suspicious operators! Firstly, they may refuse to loan out any samples. On the first visit I was told absolutely "no samples", the second visit I was obliged. The main reason why I shopped at this store I wanted same day pick up of Torly's flooring . Regardless, when I purchased the flooring I took note of their return policy (which is displayed on the sales counter) and also confirmed it with the saleslady. Upon completion of my project, I tried to return my excess unopened packages. Firstly I was given the run around (talking to different people at different locations of the store, as if no one had ever handled returns before. Eventually, I was told they would accept the returns but the restocking fee had magically increased to 25% (from 15%). They claimed my order was a special order and that they don't normally sell Torlys. This is despite the fact the Torley is featured prominently on their website and Torley display is the first display you seen when you enter the store. Not to mention that the wood was chosen, paid for, and picked up the same day. How can they make such outrageous claims? Eventually, I was given the number for the manager who of course did not pick up or ever return my call. Moral of this story, avoid dreadful customer service and some very unscrupulous operators at brampton hardwood floors. How can a place like this can remain in business. They should probably also be investigated for unprofessional, unethical practices. Save yourself the headache and go somewhere where reputation matters!

    Answer from pro:

Brampton Hardwood Floors is very proud of its long, successful working relationship with Torlys Floors. In fact, Torlys picked Brampton Hardwood Floors to be its exclusive authorized dealer in Ontario of Torlys factory outlet products. We were selected over hundreds of other hardwood flooring dealers based on our many years of great value, top quality and excellent customer service. We apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced and have diligently investigated your concerns to avoid any recurrence. The statements you attribute to our staff are peculiar and certainly not something we would expect or condone. We have relayed your comments to our sales and management staff to ensure the continuance of the "customer first" attitude that has been the foundation of Brampton Hardwood Floors success over almost thirty years in business. We are happy that you were able to complete your purchase and return of Torlys factory outlet flooring products at Brampton Hardwood Floors.

    product and service

I am truly DISGUSTED by the service I received at the Bramalea location of Brampton hardwood. I have purchased large quantities of product from this business and today when I went to exchange or return a product that THEY GAVE ME, that was the wrong colour. They refused to do so and told me " You are one person and your business here means nothing" and "was it worth the gas money to come and exchange/return the product" In the past their product has not lived up to their claims and warranties from my experience. I am a business owner in the housing industry and I purchase large quantities of building supplies. Each individual, whether spending a large or small amount of money is of value and should be treated with respect. I will NEVER purchase another product from Brampton Hardwood. I hope that people that read this will search for a company that values your business and provides good product and good customer service.

    Answer from pro:

We are extremely sorry that you were disappointed with your experience at Brampton Hardwood Floors. We appreciate your continued business and on this purchase were very keen to again provide the same excellent customer service you had always received from our dedicated and attentive staff. The flooring you bought was a direct match for the sample board you chose from, but for whatever reason after purchase you decided that it did not suit your needs. As previously mentioned, we would be pleased to try and work with you to try and resolve your concerns.

    Hardwood Floors

On July 30th we purchased 500sq ft of carbonized bamboo at Brampton Hardwood. Ivy helped us choose the product, and she was great to deal with. Unfortunately when it came time to make our purchase Vandana took over, explaining that she was the Sales Manager. We brought the sample of wood to the front counter and she prepared our Bill of Sale. We explained that we needed delivery after 4pm, and she assured us that wouldn’t be an issue. We then paid in full for the product and arranged for delivery on Friday, August 1 after 4pm for $125 plus tax. On Thursday, July 31, the delivery driver called my husband at 11am and asked if he was home to take delivery. My husband said that we scheduled delivery for the next day after 4pm. The driver said ok. On Friday, August 1st, the driver again called my husband and pleaded for him to be home by 2pm, since he had a very busy day and didn’t think he could get there after 4pm. Since we were scheduled for installation on Tuesday (and the wood needs 3-5 to climatize as per Vandana’s instructions) my husband felt like he had no choice to leave work earlier (at our expense) to ensure we got the product delivered. At this point I was annoyed since we only agreed to the delivery fee under the promise of an “after 4pm” delivery. When I called Vandana to express my disappointment that the delivery driver forced an earlier pick up, she responded: “It’s not my problem that you are mad at your husband for leaving work early”. At that point I said thank-you and hung up the phone – it wasn’t worth the effort to argue further. Two hours later our product was delivered. After the delivery driver dropped it off, we discovered it was the wrong colour! When Vandana placed the order, she mistakenly entered “natural” instead of “carbonized”. I didn’t realize this since the carbonized version is a natural colour, so I assumed it was ok, but there is a distinction between the two. I do accept that some of this is my fault, however I gave Vandana the sample at the time of purchase and trusted that she had the correct item ordered. I immediately called the store to speak with her. We had to sort this out since their installer was coming five days later to install the product. When Vandana picked up the phone I explained the error. She abruptly cut me off and said: “This is customer’s problem, dear, not store’s problem”. She said that we had to find a way to get the wood back to the store, and they would switch for us. I tried to explain that we don’t have a vehicle to bring it back, but she wouldn’t listen. I tried to explain that we had an install scheduled in five days, and again, she wouldn’t listen, and she refused to contact a manager for me (kept saying no one was available). SHE KEPT CUTTING ME OFF!!! IT WAS THE WORST DISPLAY OF CUTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. She was rude and downright disrespectful. I felt the only way to get my point across was to raise my voice, and at that point she hung up and SCREENED MY CALLS. So we were left with the wrong wood, with no way to bring it back, and an installer coming in four days. At that point both my husband and I drove to the store. As I was driving, I remembered that Lina at the Caledonia location has received excellent reviews on Homestars (unlike Vandana). I have never met Lina, nor have I ever even been to the Caledonia store, however when I called and explained the situation, she did everything in her power to help. LINA IS A LIFE SAVER! She said that she would try to get a hold of a Manager to come up with a solution. My husband got to the store first and exchanged words with Vandana. She then escaped into a back room. When I arrived I was told that Vandana left for the day. Ivy promised to figure out a solution, so we waited. This whole experience was very frustrating and being 8 months pregnant, it was stress that I didn’t need. Ivy offered to get me a tea to calm down, which was much appreciated. At that point I heard Vanada’s voice in the back room (yes, she was hiding). I called out to her and she (eventually) came out. No eye contact or acknowledgment. She ignored me much like a child in the school play yard. We finally got a manager on the phone and he said he would deliver the correct product on Tuesday (one day before our scheduled installation). When I asked about climatizing, he said “don’t worry about that”. When I asked Vandana the same question, she brushed me off. I even asked to review the manufacturers recommendations, and was told they weren’t available. In the end, they delivered the correct product the following day (Saturday) which allowed for enough time to climatize, but only after my strong insistence. My advice to future customers: If you are looking for the cheapest price on hardwood, chances are you won’t beat Brampton Hardwood. If youmust buy from here, drive a bit further and deal with Lina at the Caledonia location. We did shop around and the prices were hard to beat. That said, do not expect ANY SORT OF AFTER SALES SERVICE. If anything goes wrong, this is the kind of place that will look to lay blame on you rather that work with you to find a solution. Next time we need to install hardwood, I will gladly pay a premium to have a reputable supplier/installer do the work. This place isn’t worth it. By the way, the only reason I gave this review 2 stars instead of 0 is because of Lina and Ivy.

    Hardwood Flooring Purchase

++++ Buyer Beware +++++ I would not recommend Brampton flooring to anyone. POOR SERVICE / EMPTY COMMITMENTS / IN-EFFICIENT OPERATIONS / NO FOLLOW SKILLS Invoice # 281407 Purchase was made on August 2/14. Sales associate confirmed stock was readily available. We instructed Brampton flooring at the time of sale that our driver will pick up on August 5/14. Driver arrived at Brampton flooring at 11am August 5/14. After waiting 45 minutes he was instructed that only partial inventory was available. 40/48 boxes of hardwood flooring. He than was instructed to go to an offsite warehouse to pick up. He did no pick up the product until 12:40. FYI...we pay our driver to pick up the merchandise. A normal pick up should be 20 minutes. Also our General contractor has the flooring staff scheduled for August 6/14. No we must arrange a second pick up and have the flooring people return to finish the project. *(additional cost) Called on August 5/14 and spoke with Niti. I asked to speak with an on-site manager. No one was available. I explained to her the challenges we had experienced and explained that delivery the remaining 8 boxes would solve the problem. She committed that her manager would call shortly that day. NO CALL RETURNED. Called August 6/14 for on duty manager. Left my order number and asked for a call back. Not returned. Called August 7/14 talked Niti. She said she talk with her manager. She asked the manager to call back and acted suprised when i updated her that no call had been returned. She proceeded to explain that no delivery would be provided and would i like to cancel or pick up the remaining 8 boxes.... FYI (her tonality was poor in responding to sincere customer inquiries) Well Brampton flooring... I would like a refund on the remaining 8 boxes. I will complete the project by purchasing the remaining hardwood somewhere else. For a company that has been in business for the length of time, i will remind you that price is often replicated but good service build loyalty. Continue to treat your customers this way and sooner than later their experiences will spread like wild fire. Please call me with the confirmation number of my refund. You have my contact details. I have left them with your staff 3 days in a row. Sincerely Robert

    Hate old floor finish

Let's say this: I had a flooring emergency on Sunday, and by end of day Wednesday everything was fixed! Vandana is a miracle worker - she understood my issue and sent the very best guy for the job. Dushan was professional and amazing! I found the company very easy to work with - and felt as if they really cared about me. I am so happy with the end result! My only wish is that I knew of them sooner. :-)

    Answer from pro:
