    Home Inspection

    Brent was very knowledgable and friendly. He took the time to answer all my questions and did not rush through the inspection. After the inspection I got a binder with my report in it and he emails me the pictures afterwards. I had called him afterwards to follow-up on something and he did it right away. He found things that I would have never found. Thanks for saving my family from potential mold problems and saving me some money. Would definitely recommend him to my family and friends.

    Home Inspection

    BRENT WAS AMAZING AND THOROUGH WITH THE INSPECTION OF OUR NEW HOME. HE WAS VERY ACCOMODATING WITH DATE AND TIME I NEEDED. THANKS BRENT FOR EVERYTHING I WOULD RECOMMEND TO ALL FRIENDS OR FAMILY

    Home Inspection

    I called Brent yesterday afternoon in a panic because I needed a home inspection the next morning and he came through for me! Brent was very thorough in his inspection and quite patient with all my questions. On top of providing me with a detailed report, he also gave me the ''meat and potatoes'' of the condition of the home, which was really quite helpful! I would highly recommend Brent, thank you!

    Home Inspection

    We were very satisfied with our home inspection performed by Brent! He was available with less than 24 hours notice and arrived on time. He took his time to go through each area of the home, stopping to explain his findings in detail. He also paused to answer any questions we had. Brent was very professional and friendly, making the process much easier and more pleasant. Brent followed up quickly with photos and offered to keep in touch for any additional questions that may arise. His thoroughness and willingness to explain all issues in detail allowed us to make an informed decision regarding the purchase. We would definitely recommend his services to anyone looking for a great home inspector!

    Home Inspection

    We've trusted Brent on two separate home inspections, one for a pre-home inspection (in Jan 2015, lost out) and one for a home inspection after a conditional offer (in Feb 2015). On both occasions Brent was knowledgeable, friendly, efficient and patience. He has been here for us after the inspection as well, and has been very amazing in his response to our questions via email. When we had an urgent question about our house in relation to home insurance Brent was very quick to respond! We were greatly appreciative of this. Below are some points as to why we would recommend Brent: - Very knowledge about different houses. We had asked many, many questions about both houses and Brent was able to answer each and every one to our satisfaction. This meant a lot to us as we're first time home buyers. Any questions or worry we had Brent easily answered. - Timely - he was early or right on time, never late. - Post-inspection support - was there for questions afterwards, if no response (he does run a business after all =)) all we had to do was follow up and Brent was there to answer. Always there for an urgent question. - Friendly with a great sense of humour - again, really great if you're a first time home buyer. I would highly recommend Brent of Classic Home Inspections!

    home inspection for 30 days Tarion

    Very nice guy. No doubt, very experienced. He went around the house twice and pointed out issues. He found a piping opening not sealed very well and he then used a infrared camera to confirm that from inside. He took pictures of all the issues. That is very helpful. As I remember about 15 years ago inspectors didn't use cameras. Tech really helps. He educated me on several things and that's one of the purposes of home inspection. He filled out the Tarion form for us and saved us a little time; very nice.

    Pre-purchase inspection

    As first-time home buyers, we were very dissatisfied with Brent's inspection. He failed to notice many issues with our house that we discovered shortly after moving in. The plumbing has unsupported pipes, improper draining and venting; the 2nd storey roof is in disrepair (Brent did mention some of the roof issues, but not all - this particular issue he actually took a photograph of but never communicated to us); the kitchen roof he told us was in decent condition, probably needs to be replaced in a couple of years, meanwhile it's already leaking after a month. Brent has staunchly refused to apologize for missing these issues in his inspection and seems unconcerned about providing good customer service. His website says he "goes through the home with great detail" so that we will "understand the home as well as [he] does", but in our experience he was not detailed at all and did not help us to understand major issues regarding our home. I would not recommend this company to anyone. update: In his response to my review, Brent has resorted to insulting and belittling me. It is true I was not present at inspection, but my partner was and he is participating in this review as well. None of the issues I have raised were mentioned verbally during the inspection or formally in the report. Brent did discover some things during the inspection, which is why I only asked for a partial refund after discovering his report was inadequate. He missed a significant amount of other issues with plumbing and roofing repairs which are costly to fix and he keeps referring to his report even though there is nothing there about these issues. It was I who sent him a picture (not the opposite as he strangely states) showing him some of the roof repairs that he neglected to mention to my partner or in his report. The reason we got a home inspection was to find out about the house before we closed so that we could make appropriate arrangements for repairs or amendments to the offer beforehand. Brent's negligence has cost us thousands of dollars. It is bad enough he did an incomplete inspection on our house, but now he has shown himself to be petty and immature in dismissing and insulting his customers online.

    Well Eve, I certainly appreciate all feedback, this one in particular, as I take my job very seriously and I want to hear it. Once again though, this proves that my reviews are “real”, and I do appreciate the feedback. Eve, as much as I appreciate this feedback (even though sometimes we get defensive when someone critics us) let’s just make sure that we are getting the story correct for the reader. First off, you were not even at the home inspection. Therefore, I don’t know if you are really in a position to criticize what I did and didn’t do. However, let us go through this. Eve, you sent me many an email outlining things that you felt I missed, yet I would respond with not only showing the picture of the issue, I pointed it out in the report. You would simply come back with another email with another issue, and I would do the same thing. All plumbing issues and roof issues are noted in the report yet you’ve gone onto this blog and are telling everyone that I simply missed it. What you’re omitting is the fact that you were upset with me not telling you this (or is it your boyfriend just simply didn’t tell you after the inspection) is that you wanted the current homeowner to fix the issues. I told your boyfriend to contact me if you guys have any questions, yet you brought all of this to my attention almost two months after the deal closed. What’s even better is that all of the issues that you came to me with have a MINIMAL cost to repair them. I think you’re just a touch bitter because your agent should have addressed the issues for you, he didn’t, and now you’re looking for someone to blame. Just for the record Eve, find another home inspector that goes up onto a completely snow covered roof the day of a massive snowstorm. Guess what, you’re not going to find one, but I did it for you, and I get a “1 out of 10” for that ??? The roof is perfectly fine. Enjoy your new home Eve. Take your frustration elsewhere...     Home Inspection

    We hired Brent to do a home inspection on a custom built home we were about to buy. We were not expecting there to be any major issues given it was a new home but Brent did an amazing job and picked up on things we never would have thought would have been issues. For example, he picked up that the furnace was a 2002 furnace as opposed to a brand new furnace. Brent was thorough throughout the inspection and spent the time to go through room by room and make sure I understood the findings. This inspection was the best money I ever spent as we decided to sign a mutual release and not buy the home given all the issues. If you want a good home inspector, I strongly recommend hiring Brent.

    Home Inspection

    Brent was very meticulous and professional while conducting the inspection of the house that I was planning to buy. His findings have helped me in renegotiating the deal. Most importantly, he’s been very courteous and patient all through - from first call till getting the job done..

    Home purchase inspection

    I bought my house in this October. I hired Jeff to do the inspection work after comparing many contractors. He spent roughly 2-3 hours in my 3000 sqft house, through inside out. His attention to details exceed my expectation and also surprised my agent. He checked almost everything in the house, letting the water flow a at least 2 hours to detect the leakage (many inspector only open the taps for 15 mins which is definitely insufficient to detect problems.) While he performed his work, he likes people not talking too loud so that he can hear any suspecious noise/sound. There is another small little thing he did impressed me and my agent. After he found two empty painting cans and a couple leftover floor packages, the first thing he checked was the dates of those purchases. As what he said "these newly purchased painting and flooring must be used to cover something...", and then he would try to find out where the new paiting/floors applied and to see if they were used to cover some nasty things. I am glad to use Jeff to inspect my home. Though i am not expecting any inspector to detect all problems of the house within just 3 hours, I am still impressed by his work and experience.
