Solid work & a positive vibe

After 4 quotes and visits from other Masonry service providers, we settled on Brian to do the work for our house. From the moment he promptly dropped by our house to check out the work, to our last conversation on the phone, I liked his energy and sincerity. Just as important, was the quality of work he and his crew did. They repaired our front steps, for a reasonable price, and took care of tuck pointing some of the major areas that needed to be done. Cummins Restorations did an excellent job cleaning up after everyday they were at our house and you would never know they were there working. I would call on Brian again for work. Thanks

    Front porch step repair

I had a very good experience with Cummins Restoration to fix a front porch that had sagged. The stones were perfectly fine... Cummins Restoration, unlike other companies, did not try to sell me new stones. They came in-person to provide a quote - it didn't make sense to me to have companies provide quotes without having seen the job in-person. A professional quote arrived when they said it would. They did the job very well and even went beyond my expectations in beautifying the entrance.

    Excellent service

I was having a very hard time finding a contractor for a relatively small job repairing the concrete on some badly crumbling Unilock steps to my front porch and realigning a small patch of bricks between the steps. Calls not returned, estimates not sent, etc. I couldn't believe my luck finding this company. Brian answered the phone!, came the next day, followed up his estimate with a contract and kept in touch with me while we were waiting for the weather to cooperate. Came exactly when he said he would, worked diligently all day and did a fabulous job. Brian is an honourable, skilled tradesman and a pleasure to deal with.

Repair brick work on garage and patio door

Brian and his team are professional. They re-bricked my garage that had been ripped apart by an unscrupulous bricklayer. Although it was late in the year with winter approaching, Brian took on my job, showed up on time and budget and completed the job with no supervision. He repaired more than 1000 of bricks and tuck-pointed other areas on 3 sides of my house and garage. All the work was finished quickly, expertly and on budget. I would have no hesitation recommending Cummins Restoration and will use them in future.

Thank you so much Paul. A total pleasure working with you.

Repair brick wall and window sill and replace old milk box with new brick.

The job was to grind out all the brick joints from the bottom course up to the area where it was not deteriorated (about 48 sq.ft.). Clean out with an air blower. Tuck point with new mortar. Replace approximately 20 bricks. Replace old milk box with new bricks. Grind and tuck point the brick sill with new mortar. Brian did a professional job in all respects. His communication was timely and appropriate. All appointments were kept, and in one case of inclement weather, rebooked with plenty of notice. The masonry work was beautifully done. The wall with the mailbox looks original. Cleaning, replacement, and tuck pointing of other brick areas also done to my great satisfaction. Brian also thoroughly explained the process and answered all my questions along the way. Construction debris was all removed and site left cleaner than found.

Repair Cement Blocks in Garage & replace broken bricks on house

GARAGE: Brian's team chiseled off all loose parging from bottom rows of cement blocks, infilled large cavities with screeding, cleaned the exposed area with Muriatic acid. Then they parged the area with Portland cement fortified with tile grout. OLD EAST YORK BUNGALOW : Replaced five deteriorated bricks [damage due to bad eavestrough] and tuck-pointed on the east wall and north walls. All the work was finished quickly, expertly & on budget.

Problem Solved - Looks Better Than Ever

Brian and team repaired concrete steps that are 20 years old and had "suffered" from several do-it-yourself" repairs. The team cut away the broken areas, reinforced the foundation on the bottom step and made the two steps look brand new. At the top, 7 year old granite stones had come loose at the top of the steps. Old grout was scraped away and tiles were put back in place. I feel safe again. I will call Cummins for all my masonry needs. Thanks, team!

    Tuck Pointing

We recently moved into our new (old) home. There were spots around the brick work that needed the morter repaired. Brian and his crew showed up on time and done a very thorough job. I can't point out the places that were repaired because I cannot tell where the work was done. That is how well the colour and texture of the repairs matched the surrounding material. Brian and his crew were very polite and cleaned up after themselves. Great job Brian and team!

    Foundation parge and repair

Choosing Cummins Restoration was not difficult. Brian is very pleasant, and his quote was reasonable and realistic in a field of quotes that ranged all over the board. Not the cheapest, but cheap quotes should generally be avoided. And not the most expensive, which often means you're paying more than what you should. Brian's quote seemed to me to fit the job just right. Once we were able to schedule a time that worked for both of us, Brian's crew were prompt and courteous. The guy's were professional and tidy, and put in a good day's work. They were open and eager to explain the extent of the repair, and the method that is used to complete it. The repair and parging took two days to complete, and once they were done, the only evidence that they had been there was the finished product. I am pleased with the workmanship. In fact, my neighbour, who had parging and repair done last year by another company, was jealous of the workmanship provided by Cummins. As far as parging and concrete repair are concerned, I would not hesitate to recommend Cummins Restoration. But I, myself, would not hesitate to hire them for other masonry work based on the quality job they did on my foundation.

    Tuck pointing / spot pointing

I am so happy that I found Brian through homestars. I could not be more happy with the tuck pointing job he did on my house. His work was very clean and he did an excellent job matching the texture and colour of the mortar. I would highly recommend him to anyone!

Thank you so much, Jean!! Our pleasure to do work for you and your family.
