    Furnace Repair

I called in the morning as my furnace was not working (on the coldest day of the year)and was told that someone would be coming out between 11-3. The technician arrived prior to noon and not only fixed the furnace, but when I stated that I had planned to call because of problems with the water heater, he called in the order and took care of it right away. He was polite and courteous and explained things as he went along. He did an amazing job.

    Heating Protection

Knowledgable and professional technician ; had the issue resolved in no time but booking technician was a problem. It was - 25degrees on Saturday Feb 13 ,2016 and we had no heating in the house . Called at 6.40 pm and could not get technician until next morning @ 11 am . The house was freezing and only at 5 degrees withrisk of pipes bursting . Very uncomfortable night ; ended up booking a hotel room to warm up . Enercare should have adequate 24/7 staff for emergencies such as this as this issue should have been prioritized given the freezing temperatures outside.

    Continued Great Service

We have used this service for quite awhile (over a few name changes) and find consistent excellent service and a strong note of honesty. We have been told how to save money and when to make upgrades without a feeling of pressure. A strong recommendation from this household - we have very demanding standards and this company lived up to it.

    Hot water mixing valve replacement

I have the 3-in-1 Total Home Protection plan with Enercare. My hot water mixing valve failed last Monday and was no longer getting hot water. I called Enercare and their tech was in first thing in the morning and replaced it in no time free of charge with no questions asked. This was around $450 worth of parts + labour

    Service call/repair (Misinformed)

We have had issues with our furnace since purchasing our new home. Our furnace was shut off by Enbridge over Christmas (on Boxing Day) due to a gas leak. With a 3 year old, me at 8 month pregnant and a snow storm in the forecast we wanted to have our heat turned on as quickly as possible. We contacted a contractor in the area who came out quickly and advised us that the part we needed to repair our furnace had to be ordered and could take several days. We contacted Enercare Home Services who advised us very clearly that they had the part we needed in stock and would repair it same day and could send out a technician. My husband confirmed this information as we questioned the reliability that this part was available but we were assured by the customer care agent that the technician would have the part and could repair it same day so we agreed to have the technician come out. The technician arrived and did not have the part that we specifically asked about and said they could order it and repair it in a few days. Needless to say I paid for two technicians from two different companies tell me the same thing which I would never have agreed to if I wasn't advise by Enercare that the part was in inventory. I have since been disputing the charge as I don't feel I should have to pay for the technician visit ($150) to tell me what I already knew. Enercare has offered to issue a credit for 50% of the cost but it's not about the money. We were told they could provide a service that they could not provide and I shouldn't have to pay for it. I have contacted them multiple times. The complaint process is ridiculous. I've been told several times that someone will call me with 24-48 hours and no one ever calls. I have to call back. I have asked them to pull the recorded call of the customer service rep advising my husband it could be repaired that day to confirm that we should not be charged for this service call as we were clearly misinformed. Still waiting to hear back.

    Water heater replacement

We recently lost our water heater and called the number on the tank, the customer sales rep on the phone was lovely, very friendly and very reassuring. What seemed to be a smooth process with replacement which was urgent as we had no running water and no heat in February, quickly turned into a nightmare of 72hrs. The first installers came out and had no idea how to replace the hot water tank as we have geo thermal heating that was tied into it. (This was explained multiple times to the sales rep on the phone and she assured me that they deal with this heating all the time) so off they went with no replacement done and a promise to return tomorrow with a compatible tank. clocking in at that point 26 hrs no heat no water. We slept bundles in blankets with space heaters and had to depend on bottles of water. We had to heat water up on the stove and kettle to be able to wash and brush our teeth in the morning. Day 2 no heat no water, 2 different techs return late afternoon to realize again they are unable to replace tank b/c it was again not compatible. promise to return again the next day and have the suitable tank installed. Day 3 is now....finally get a new tank replaced (new techs again) So 72 hrs no heat no water, 3 days pay lost without compensation, multiple messages left with care centre for request to speak wIth manager, advised X2 that a manager will be in contact to discuss concerns within 24hrs. (It's been 2.5 days) We survived 3 days with pets and a small child under the circumstances that were placed upon us by enercare, however I will be demanding compensation for the unnecessary disorganization infringed upon my family by them. We are lucky it wasn't colder than it was already. -10 feels like -17 as per whether network made it extremely cold in the house despite heating blankets and space heaters. This was very poorly organized and with complete disregard to the customer and challenges we were faced with and left to deal with. Terrible business etiquette.

    Answer from pro:

    Water Heater Nightmare

I have written very few reviews for services however I felt compelled to pass along how poor the service was. We had 4 technicians come out to assess our water heater with all of the reports being different and the last technician in fact misrepresented himself and told us he was there to help resolve the situation when in fact he tagged the water heater and shut off the gas to it. He was not even qualified to assist us with a quote for a new water heater which was why we he was there. Although we repeatedly tried to explain the situation to this " technician" he said there was nothing he could do after shutting off the gas to our water heater. The previous technician had been there a month ago and we had 45 days to get a new water heater. After speaking with his supervisor the next day, he said that the technician should never have come to the house or tagged the water heater. At this point we decided to not go forward with buying a water heater from their company or have their services in the future. We were also told we would have to return the old water heater which is over 11 years old and would have to pay Enercare $75 to have their technician pick it up and if we did not return it we would be charged every month the rental amount for the water heater FOREVER. The earliest they can pick up the water heater is one week away. This company is rigid in their "policies" and disorganized in their services and they are far from being a customer focused business. Having a technician come into my house who said he needed to see the water heater ( even though we already had a quote for the water heater from Enercare already and they demanded someone come out) and then later claim he was not qualified to make a quote -knowing full well that was why he was there, along with unnecessarily shutting off our gas, is the reason I would advise people to steer clear from this company . Enercare has lost all our business including the money we were going pay them to purchase a new water heater from them, have it installed and purchase the warranty service needed in the future. Also, we purchased one of their service plans in the past and the times we tried to use it - WERE NOT COVERED and the plans are useless. So disappointed and hope others stay far away from this " business"

    Furnace Repair

The technician was personable and respectful of our space. He repaired the door on our furnace without us asking and gave us some great tips to keep our furnace running.
