    Furnace Maintenance

Fast and efficient , and the Technician was professional and friendly. The only thing different from Direct Energy is that he didn't provide me with a HomeCare checklist, which I always received from Direct Energy following furnace maintenance.

    furnace cleaning well done

I had not remembered about the yearly furnace maintenance, which is included with my package. A rep phoned me to offer me an appointment. I got my appointment at a time convenient to me and the technician was neat, clean, courteous and thorough. Thank You

    No heat call.

The furnace had failed to come on and although the temperatures are currently mild, I have a 15 month granddaughter who resides with me needs to be warm and cozy. I put the call in at 4:00PM and obtained a window of 8:00PM - 12:00AM. The technician arrived at 10:20PM (called ahead by 10 mins as requested). Upon inspection it was determined that a new motor was required. Thank you for the Heating Parts & Protection plan. He had the correct model on board, replaced, tested and up and running by 11:00PM......NO CHARGE !!!! Wonderful job, excellent experience.

Complete Nightmare - Don't ever use this company!

They came round to inspect our furnace. Told us we need to have 'vents' in the door otherwise Enbridge would cut us off. So, we hired them to fit the vents - they should have told Enbridge that the job was done. We went away on holiday and when we came back (freezing house) Enbridge had cut our gas off. We were faced with a $175 fee for getting Enbridge out to switch the gas back on but they wouldn't do that until Enercare verified that the job had been done. When Enercare finally came out they wanted to charge us for a ' call out' until I refused to pay. The job they did on the vent door was appalling to begin with - but then through their incompetence we ended up with our gas being cut off, coming home after a a holiday with no gas, freezing house and then the hassle of getting out gas put back on. ALL not our fault - we didn't get an apology of any kind. Useless company, useless service - NEVER EVER USE THIS COMPANY.

    Hot Water Heater Exchange (Rental)

The two men were friendly, took care to ensure my floors and carpets were protected, arrived on time (a few minutes early!) and got right to work. They each seemed to know what they were doing, and worked together well as a team. The new hot water heater seems to be working well and I expect no problems from this installation. Thank you!

New Air Conditoner installation and maintenance

Two years ago I had my air conditioner installed by Direct Energy which is now known as Enercare. The installation was a total nightmare! The sales representative was really nice, and did everything to get the sale. In the end we gave his the order. In return for the sale he promised us a free air conditioner cover, free air duct cleaning and the promise of completing the paperwork for a government rebate of $400.00. As promised the technitions show up at my home, and removed my old air conditioner. I told them to leave it at the side of the house that I would dispose of it myself. It weighed a ton and I knew that I could get some good money for it for the metal. In any case, they decided to take the old unit and put it in their van. In the process, they spilled liquid all over my driveway, leaving a large patch of stain up against the house. When I go home that evening, I called the sales representative to tell him about the damage to my driveway. The driveway had just been paved two months prior. He reassured me not to worry that he would have it repaired under their insurance. When i enquired about the freebies he told me that he would set it up. Weeks later nothing had transpired. I called the sales representative again and at this point he ignored my calls altogether. When I called the customer care number, I ended up speaking to Mike Moran, the manager/owner of the Brampton/Rutherford location. Mike came to my home to inspect the damages. We went back and forth with this for two months. In the end I did not get what was promised to me. I will NEVER deal with this company again! In fact, the unit was still under warranty, and the water pump was not pumping out water. Direct Energy\Enercare sent out a technition from the Brampton location. This technition refused to fix/look at the water pump becasue it "was not under warrenty". The water pump was put in at the same time as the air conditioner... when I complained to the tech that they put DE put it in he said that it didn't matter. He then started talking bad about his employer, Mike Moran, and the company itself. Ultimately my husband ended up cleaning the pump and makeing it work again. I will NEVER deal with this company again!

    Horrible Customer Service

We signed up for the Protection Plan when we called to have a technician come to service the furnace prior to the cold weather. He arrived and spent 3 minutes here, didn't do any testing, no Carbon Monoxide test, just put his finger inside and said we have a cracked heat exchanger and, as luck would have it, he could get a sales rep to see us today! I called Enercare to cancel my Protection Plan as we would. It be needing it. Then I received the bill $86 for the Plan and another $86 for the 3 minute technician visit (we only made one appointment.). I called their Customer Care department to dispute the charges and, after many frustrating call over a few weeks, they removed the Plan cost. I am still disputing the 3 minute technician visit as he did not do his due dilligence how could he in 3 minutes with no tests or further inspection beyond putting his finer inside the furnace. Did I mention the 3 minutes included him taking off and putting on his shoes!

    Water Heater breakdown

The technician arrived within the first hour of the 4 hour time window scheduled which is good because I don't have to sit waiting for 4 hours, and I can go back as soon as possible to the rest of my activities afterwards. The technician was conversant and explained the cause why the water heater stopped running - which is good because it gives the homeowner a sense of what's going on and will help in understanding the billing later on. The technician also was personable with a good service attitude. believe me, I've had a number of service technicians come to the house with an attitude, and he was one of the exceptions. He was meticulous in his work and thorough, and even had a booty on. the booty worn on top of steel toe boots may be a small thing, but it does pique off customers when technicians just barrel through into your house with muddy and dirty boots. he was a good salesman too offering me maintenance service plans and how to have a new furnace and A/C installed.

    HVAC Service

The technician was very helpful . . . and he answered our questions regarding our hot water tank and our air conditioner . . . he was courteous too . . . I pay for Enercare's heating maintenance plan of approximately $10.00 per month. This plan includes one furnace inspection and cleaning each year.
