WORST COMPANY EVER PLS DONT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM

Rented a water heater tank from them for 10 years, and paid my monthly bill. The tank broke and flooded the basement on Sunday. Waited for a whole week and it's still not fixed or replaced. The technicians either no show or said will come back another day. The customer service reps are the worst to deal with too. They don't solve the problem but just keep asking you to wait or disconnect you. Please stay way from this company!!

    Protection Plan

We have been Enercare customers for many, many years. We were up for the renewal of our protection plan and I had the pleasure to deal with Kathy in the sales department. Kathy was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and with a wonderful positive attitude. She was polite, mannered, a true professional with great customer service skills. Based on what we wanted in a protection plan, Kathy patiently explained in detail the entire 3 in 1 plan to me. Kathy is absolutely fantastic and a delight to deal with! On another bright side, I also had to deal a few times with Darlene in the appointment scheduling department. When needed and every time I called Darlene, she understood right away the urgency of the situation and she managed to schedule a technician appointment for us in a timely manner. Like Kathy, Darlene is a great listener with great attention to detail, explanatory and phenomenal customer service skills. What a relief and pleasure it is for Enercare customers to have individuals like Kathy and Darlene ready to offer help! Thank you so much Ladies for your impeccable customer service and support!

Excellent furnace maintenance service by a very knowledgeable technician

I had recently signed up for a promotional offer by Enercare for a free furnace diagnostic service, and Technician Feemas Ehampara came at the appointed time, called ahead first to ensure that someone was at home, and was friendly and courteous throughout the visit. He explained exactly what he was doing during the diagnostic portion of the service call, and made many helpful suggestions for potential future maintenance requirements. Feemas determined that the furnace was already in overall good operating condition, and did not try to upsell me any further unnecessary service(s). He worked efficiently and completed his post-diagnosis tune-up tasks within a 1/2 hr.

    furnace maintenance

My experience with Enercare technicians performing my planned furnace maintenance inspection has been good. However, the latest inspection was exceptional. The technician called prior arrival and was on site shortly after. He realized that my furnace has a two-stage firing mechanism and that it was set to only one stage (likely since the installation of the furnace). He fixed the firing mechanism and as a result my furnace heating performance increased significantly. He also realized that my interlock switch was missing. He ordered the missing part and after its arrival, he came back and install it. He patiently and clearly answered my questions. He cared about my needs as a customer.

    Duct cleaning

Be aware Enercare contracts out the service and they charge a premium. You can contact any duct cleaning company directly and pay less. The equipment and technology was old. I will not use their services again and would not recommend them.

    HVAC

I needed a new Furnace immediately as my old Furnace gave up the ghost and winter is approaching. I compared Enercare pricing with the other well-known company. I decided on Enercare.

Another victim of Enercare’s water heater rental contracts, policies and practices

Re: Re: Property Address - Enercares water heater rental contracts, policies and practices In Jan 2016 I purchased a property at XXX. The previous owner rented a 50 Gallon Gas Water Heater unit from Enercare Home Services. When I bought the home, without my knowledge the rental agreement was inherited on me. I contacted Enercare back in March 2017 to cancel the monthly rental but they have informed me that I will not be able to cancel the Rental agreement unless I pay around $1,200 for canceling the agreement. I reviewed the Agreement of Purchase and Sale (APS) that was executed as part of the home purchase. Section 6 called Rental Items (including lease to own) was blank and there were no equipment listed in that section. Therefore, I have no contract with Enercare Home Services as that is a legally binding agreement with the previous homeowner and any rental should have been disclosed at the time of the sale. Around June 2017 I had to disconnect the Enbridge and other utility accounts such as electrical and water for the demolition of the house and re-construction work. After the reconstruction, new connections for all the utilities was were established for the newly built house in summer 2019. Enercare called me a few times in 2020 to pay for the cancelation of the water tank, I have requested them to show the rental agreement signed by the previous owner and proof that how I inherited the responsibility of someone else's contract. I also pointed out the fact that the Enbridge utility account that was associated with Enercare was canceled in 2017. Despite my attempts to contact Enercare Home Services and obtain information, they have not provided the requested information even after I made numerous phone calls and sent multiple emails. In addition to this, I have not received any written communication such as mail or emails from Enercare advising that my house is under their contract, all their communication is through phone. The agent I have spoken to, told me that you dont have an option to cancel the account other than buying the unit. I do not have an account with Enercare. I recently came to know that Enercare engaged a collection agency to get the cancellation fee, there was no communication from Enercare about this and also no email or written letter about cancelation charges and engaging the collection agency. I feel I am being threatened and manipulated into something that is not my legal responsibility. Now that a collection agency is involved - It appears to me that Enercare Home Services is trying to gouge money without providing contractual evidence. This is not only unprofessional, but also unethical and does not have an legal merit since my purchase agreement does not have any evidence of this.

    Replaced furnace and air conditioner

Our 19 year old furnace decided it couldn't last another winter (it died). We called Enercare and they sent our a serviceman within 4 hours to inspect the unit. After reviewing the unit he explained what the issue was and what our options were. We agreed that due to it's age, we should replace the furnace. We also discussed the age of our A/C unit and I decided to replace that at the same time. Arrangements were made to have the new units installed 5 days later. The installers arrived on time and they were both friendly and professional. They laid down carpets to protect our floors and worked very quickly to install the new units. They explained the work that they had done and how the new units worked. They also did a great job in running the new pipes in a manner which took up as little space in our furnace room as possible. Great job!
