    Water heater rental

I rented a water heater from these guys. I have paid over $3000.00 so far for it. If I keep going until the end of the contract I will owe another $3000.00 for it. I have had this water heater for just over 8 years and another 10 years to go. I will never do this again. I do not recommend doing this . You can buy a gas water heater for around $1000.00 and that’s installed.

    Deceiving promotion!

Terrible customer service said my furnace monthly maintenance fee would include my central air as a promo that was on.... I questioned this but they reassured me! But I got billed for it. They misrepresented, they tricked me. Now it’s been months and we still haven’t resolved this! Said they would call back in a timely manner, they didn’t finally called and promised to call back in an hour (at doctors) they didn’t. Furnace plan maintenance man very nice but they misled about my central air maintenance package!

    Protection Plan

When Enercare suggest you save money on bundling your protection plan together and there MAY be some additional charges. BE CAREFUL. What they do not explain is that they will charge you for previous maintenance visits from your last contract. With other words, they make money on their maintenance visits!!!!! The money you save on the future plan is less than a single visit for regular maintenance from your previous contract.

    Annual checkups

We pay for heating and a/c on a monthly plan. We get annual checkups and on demand emergency support. That is $24.00/month each for furnace and a/c We also subscribe to electrical and plumbing support. So far we have saved $500.00 worth of repairs in two years. We pay $18.00/month for plumbing. If you have a home that’s older than 25 years, you may wish to consider plumbing support

Enercare: A company that screws you over

We signed up for their 'protection' program. The only ones that protects is themselves. Our air conditioner gave out. They sent a technician who said it was the fan motor. He ordered one and installed it at no charge to us. THEN he said, "sorry to tell you the bad news, but it's your compressor and Enercare won't cover it. That'll be $1199 + tax". I called Enercare and they said we had already used our allotment on the fan motor, which had not been the problem. I cancelled and would never use them or recommend them. There needs to be a serious investigation into their practices.

    Furnace replacement

We purchased a new high efficiency furnace in December 2018. I wish I could post a positive review but the entire experience was disappointing. Our sales rep was less than transparent about how the payment vs. lease Payment plans worked (did not show us fine print on this I-pad when we signed electronically). So we got hit with unexpected interest and immediate payment. When the crew came to exchange the furnace in January we only found out in June (hot weather) that they had broken our AC coolant line. They assumed no responsibility for this and we paid out $400 to fix this and then recharge the coolant. And we just found out two weeks ago (6 months after our furnace purchase) that the Sales rep did not submit our paperwork for the IESO rebate of $250. Uncertain whether we will now get this rebate. We sent a note 4 months ago to the Enercare VP - Operations about our experience. No response yet.
