    New Garage Door Installation

    Dodds was very professional, from their saleman Mike to their installer Jacob. The quality of both the door and the service was incredible. On time, on cost as promised. Fantastic!!

    Replaced Double Garage Door

    This is our first 'major' replacement job not with a big box store. From the quoting stage to installation stage, our experience has been awesome. Very clean installation and installer cleaned everything up afterwards. Highly recommended!!! Thanks for everything!!!!!

    Garage door and capping

    We have since rectified all of our issues with Dodds doors and will be having our capping installed within the week. All of our issues were taken care of and would now recommend them to anyone. Office person in whitby used a wrong email to notify us of our install date. No phone calls were ever made to us. So a September installation date turned to October when we called inquiring about our install. Our phone number was on the contract but no attempt was made to call us. On the day of the install, the installer knocked on the door to say he was done; when asked about the capping he said it was not done on cold days. We called the same office person asking why we were never informed of this prior to the install. We were made to feel like we we're complete fools not knowing that cold weather effects the capping install. If we had not called we would have been paying for capping that was never installed and waiting for them to return to do it. The garage door itself is great and the installer was quick and clean, it's just unfortunate that the whitby office person needs to be more customer service oriented and less rude.

    We are sorry that this client at first felt she had reason to write a negative review and apologize that she felt slighted in any way. We do however wish to set the record straight as follows: 1] The original email address of the client’s husband had been incorrectly recorded as .com instead of as .ca but when the .com address is used there is no bounce back as it too is a valid email address with the exact SAME name. Thus when an email was sent to the client the assumption was that it had been received on the other end. An honest mistake, that only came to light when the client eventually called us. Clients often delay their installations despite the fact that we send out email notices so there was no reason to think otherwise in this case. Had the email bounced back the client would have certainly been contacted by phone. 2] On the day of the original installation November-29-2014 the weather forecast was: "Morning Weather Webcast: Nov. 29, 2013 Morning wind chills into the negative double digits, highs of -2 C this afternoon with mainly sunny skies". Unfortunately at time of booking the installation it was impossible to know that it would be that cold and since capping entails bending of aluminum without gloved hands and moreover since caulking won’t work at below 0C the installer politely advised the client the capping could not be done that day and could only be done when it warmed up. Who knew that we would have such a severe winter and only now in April are we finally able to resume capping. At no time was the client at risk of paying for the capping in advance since the work order copy reflects the capping being deleted from the total and the client issued a cheque for the lower amount excluding the capping. 3] The “Whitby office person” referred to has been with Dodds for 9 years and has never ever been accused of being rude. In fact she holds our clients in the highest esteem and will bend over backwards to resolve issues. It is unfortunate that Maura had a negative reaction but some factors such as errant email addresses and severe winters are simply out of our control. 4] We did not hear from this client again since the installation in November and it appears that the review that has been posted on April 8 was prompted by us calling the client to set up an appointment to complete the capping as it has now finally warmed up. In addition an email was sent out to the client’s husband advising that we had resumed capping. As soon as the client contacted us the capping was completed expeditiously.

    Garage door install

    Dodds came and installed a new double garage door for me on march 24. The whole process was professional and seamless, my wife and I where very impressed. The guys that came to do the install, Fred and George where top notch and did an excellent job. I would recommend dodds to anyone looking for new door at a reasonable price.

    Garage Doors

    Excellent Quoting process with all the details covered. On time installation, Very clean installation and explanation of the new system. The entire process was easy, I would highly recommend Dodds.

    Garage Repair

    We recently had our spring replaced on our garage. I had left messages for several garage door companies in the error, none got back to me except Dodd's, they came in the next day and fixed the spring. Fast, efficient, friendly service.

    new garage door

    About 3 weeks ago Michael of Dodds Doors came to my house and explained the options and styles available to me for a new double garage door. He also, in detail, explained all that would be included in the installation. This past Friday Les came and installed my new door. In spite of the uncomfortably cold weather he quietly and professionally went about his work. The door operates smoothly and looks great! I’m very pleased. Dodds Doors, to me, comes off as being a first class operation that takes great pride in how they perform.

    Garage Doors & Openers

    We recently purchased two new garage doors and openers from Dodds. We are very satisfied with both the doors and their installation. This company exudes professionalism. Michael, the salesman who visited us after we telephoned, thoroughly answered all of our questions. His answers were very accurate and we could see that they were based upon solid experience. We did not feel pressured at all and he very clearly communicated both low cost and higher cost options. The doors were installed by Omar. Despite that it was a bitterly cold day, Omar completed replacing the two old doors with new ones in about four hours by himself. He described the operation of the opener, easily answered all of my questions and left us with two beautiful and perfectly operating doors.

    Garage door repair

    The spring in my garage door broke over the weekend. Called up Dodds and got a schedule for Monday afternoon. Joseph (Joe) arrived within the given schedule. He was very friendly and jolly (which helps a lot since you don't want to be greeted by a cranky guy). He fixed it within the prescribed time. I also appreciated that he gave me tips on (1) how to maintain the entire garage door system, and (2) how to open it manually in the event that the spring breaks again (hopefully, not in the next 5 years). Great company and service.
