Replacing/bypassing silly plastic couplings on copper supply lines

This is a reivew of the latest job I've used DrainWorks for (the review of the second rather major one was rejected for some weird reason so I'll have to repost...) New problem in the same area as we drew on Phil's skills for before. The second job we used DrainWorks for was to replace our incoming water service with 3/4" service (old home which had 1/2" service from the main and poor water pressure throughout the house - some due to silly plumbing in the home but much to do with incoming service given results of a pressure test). Not surprisingly, one result was that some silly plastic couplings on copper supply lines in the main bathroom gave way (silly because plastic to copper is just stupid - I'm fairly sure the previous owner / handyman used them just because he thought space was tight without considering he had a whole other vertical dimension below to work in). See my first review for a description of the circumstances - but basically we have access to the bottom of the main bath from below... We had a fairly steady drip from one coupling over a couple of days. I toyed with taking a crack at re-routing the lines myself, but quarters were pretty tight and I didn't feel confident I could work in the area without starting a fire with a torch. Pros have encountered situations like this many times before and have the skills to do what is needed safely, so I figured it was well worth it to call one. Phil got the call for our location again and re-routed the lines as I specified. I wasn't able to be home that particular day, but my wife reported a pleasant experience and left Phil to his own devices after describing what we were looking for as a solution. So thanks very much to Phil and DrainWorks for the quality work in a timely manner.

    water service upgrade

After the city replaced water mains, sewers, road and sidewalks I obtained quotes for removing the lead pipes and installing copper water service on my property. Drainworks quote was in line with others. The comparison stops there. Drainworks staff came at the promised time for a quote, to complete the work and a follow up inspection. A reminder call the evening before the workers arrived was a pleasant surprise. Drainworks professional staff, 20 year warranty (written), quality of work were excellent. They even covered my basement bookshelves with plastic sheeting! After digging up the lines, they returned my yard to a better condition than they found it. They are definitely professionals. I recommend them to my friends and neighbours.

    sewer drain+camera+clean

Persistent bad smell from sewer drain in basement and other companies came, with no positive results. One gave complex suggestions including cutting up concrete floor and installing new drains (without a camera inspection). Drainworks personnel clear and specific on the phone re need for a camera inspection first to diagnose, gave cost. Jeremy came, he was professional, conscientious, thorough. He was very patient with the challenging situation. He ensured that the inspection was thorough, diagnosed the problem and fixed it. After weeks of living with the smell and disappointing results from other companies, we are very satisfied and pleased, carol

2nd floor toilet and bathtub backup

If you are looking for help with drainage, and trolling the Homestars website, you will find fabulous reviews of Drainworks. These reviews, and the Drainworks site, compelled me to fore-go the wait for a friend to fix the problem. Timely, professional and personable Jeremy Harris delighted me by educating me about the situation and fixing it at the quoted price (which was most reasonable given that I called on a Sunday afternoon and had it completed before 5pm). Kudos to Drainworks for employing technicians that personify their philosophy.

    Clocked kitchen Sink

Homestars Cashback Mario Vicente 84 Day Ave Toronto, On M6E 3V9 Mario's Kitchen Hell Please send check to me Thanks to DrainWorks I managed to get a Goodnight sleep. I came home, the wife trying to unclook the kitchen sink. We tried everything: Plunger, draino even a small snake we bought at home depot but nothing worked. We went online and got Drainworks number and called. They promised someone to arrive by 9:30 and we we're suprised they showed up 10 minutes earlier. The plumber was very nice, understanding and a good listener. Helps to have someone who can sympatize with your problems. First thing he tries was to snake the kitchen sink, but that didn't work. Secondly we went to the basement with the camera he notice that there was a build up of greese in the main pipe. He used a larger snake and pulled out several chunks of greese that looked more like large pieces of stones. Once this was done the sinked flowed right away. He than continued to use the camera in the oposite direction to see if there we're any other blockage. This surprised me because I thought that one it was flowing that that would be the end. But he wanted to make sure there were no outher cloaks in the opposite direction. I found that he cared about what he was doing and not one of those handy men you hear about on TV who once finish the job want to leave ASAP. He confirmed that everything looked fine. That was the experience I had with the Kitchen from Hell adventure. Once again once the work was done I felt so relived that I managed to sleep very well without having to think about the kithcen all night. And several weeks later (as i put off to write this at the last minute) I find the the flow of the water down the sink is better than when we first purcahsed the house. I want to let you know sincerly how happey I was with the service. Mario

We truly do care about your home and wellbeing, so a full inspection is just what you required. We do, however, want to clear up the type-o in the cost of services; it was $420 and not $2,420. cleared a plugged sewer line

Neighbours recommended we call Drainworks to clear our blocked sewer line. From the first phone call everything was clearly explained, politely and professionally. The whole process was quick (an hour or so), less painful than the dentist - and cheaper. The cause - visitors were disposing of baby wipes in toilet instead of garbage. Thanks again.

Cleared toilet and examined drains with camera

Both my toilets have flushed poorly and required frequent plunging and or snaking. Matt removed the upstairs toilet and examined the drains for blockages with a camera. This alleviated my concerns that the main drain was pluged. He determined that there were no significant problems with roots in the main drain and that the problem was isolated to the toilets. His diagnosis was that there is calcium builup in the toilets due to age and that i could try CLR to clear calcium deposits and if that doesn't work i may want to consider replacing the toilets.

    Basement renovation

After a horrible experience with a contractor who pretended to know enough about plumbing (do not hire[cometitor's name removed -ed]), we were forced to correct his mistakes by digging up the new tiles in our bathroom floor, breaking through new tiles on the bathroom wall, cutting a hole in the bedroom walls, pulling up our new laminate floor and digging a hole in the concrete next to the washer/dryer. DrainWorks was definitely the right team for the job. First Chris walked through the apartment and assessed what work needed to be done. Next, a large crew of hardworking men (lead by the very personable Lou) arrived on time and split into teams to began excavating. Lou made a point of explaining the process, so we not only knew the extent of the work, but so we understood of what our new plumbing would consist. Lou made a rather stressful situation feel more comfortable by including and educating us. Each issue was corrected with attention paid to minimal destruction and an effort to restore the ground to a smooth level surface. After the major underground work was completed, Chris returned to fix all the accessible piping, drainage and venting. Chris was very knowledgeable, polite, hardworking and understanding. Lou even came back to inspect the job to ensure that all the work was done properly. Indeed, we feel much safer and relieved now that our plumbing in our 100+ year old home is functioning and safe. We would definitely recommend DrainWorks to anyone, friends or Homeworks readers.
