I was very worried about buying my new furniture from Elte after reading all the terrible reviews about their delivery screw-ups, missed deadlines and poor communication. When I spoke to the salesperson to get her thoughts on furniture for my living room I was very candid about my reservations. Apparently Elte has made a lot of staffing and philosophical changes over the past year or two and now they're just waiting for the proof of their good efforts to be in the pudding. They needed to earn back the public's trust, one positive experience at a time.
Our salesperson was very helpful and worked hard to think of options that would work with our slightly "difficult" but beloved area rug. We took the plunge and ordered 2 armchairs and a couch. I was very nervous.
I told her that with respect to delivery times, they should just be honest with me. If they weren't going to be delivered for 6 months, that was fine as long as I knew what to expect. This was back in October 2012. She told me that delivery would not happen before the holidays, but for sure by February. No problem, I thought, as long as I know.
Well, not only did the furniture arrive before February, I had it in my house for the holidays. I even had to delay delivery because it was ready so much earlier than expected! A great problem to have. My salesperson followed up with me immediately to see how it went and make sure I liked it. Since then she has sent me notifications of upcoming sales and promotions. Great communication! They have even hired a third party to conduct a phone survey to ensure they were moving the needle in terms of customer satisfaction. They are clearly making a serious effort to earn back an excellent reputation. We all know they have the widest selection and some of the best stuff, but it's great to know the customer service side of things is there too. Thanks, Elte!
