    Building Envelope repairs

    I am a Professional Engineer involved in building envelope repair, and Franco Maoloni and his crew have helped several clients achieve what is required to fix their homes. Will continue to recommend them throughout the greater Hamilton and western Toronto areas.

    Roof redo

    Best roofing company around by far. Have used a few other companies through the years and Gerry’s is the most reliable and professional. A big thanks to Franco salesperson and the crew

    New Roof

    Top notch all the way. Great work crew, professional estimator, well managed business. Used Gerry's 18 years ago. They impressed us then and they still do, after our latest project. Upgraded to a higher quality, style shingle and most impressed by the look. The estimator--Franco--suggested this and it was the right move. Very pleased. Bruce and Shirley

    Job not completed

    A neighbour recommended Gerry's and although their quote was higher than the others, I was assured their work was superior. What a joke! The guys who did the job left empty water bottles in my garden, dirty t-shirts and caps in my driveway along with a mess of roofing nails and debris all over the roof of my addition (it wasn't being redone) and yard. I called the office and spoke with a woman who identified herself as the owner (wife of maybe) and was most disagreeable. Nonetheless, the next day the gentleman who did my estimate showed up at my door, apologized and proceeded to clean up the mess, which he described as disgusting and unacceptable. Roughly a month later a neighbour called and asked me to look at my roof. When I went across the street and looked up, I saw that the roofing job ended roughly 2 ft short of the midline on my semi-detached home. (See picture). This would explain why the estimate predicted several more sheets of plywood than was used, and also why the repair to my bedroom ceiling (at a cost of $1000) was leaking again and has to be redone. I called the office to explain the problem and spoke to Gerry who promised to come out and inspect it but never did. All I want is my roof completed.

    Roofing, Siding, Morley's windows

    We have used Gerry's for a number of projects for the passed few years. We have used them for our own home and rental homes. They are professional, on time, and do a fantastic job! Their contractors are friendly and work hard. I highly recommend them! Tammy and Rick Templeton

    Siding,Soffits,Facia

    Got some quotes for the work we wanted done and all were close in price. Roger who did the estimate was personable, knowledgeable and showed interest in what I wanted. One company who showed up was very quick, barely talked at all and seemed totally disinterested. Fred and Rod who did the work a couple months later were good guys who did a nice Job. Hopefully if any follow up work is ever needed, they will be as good. For siding work I would recommend them for sure.

    Storm damage: immediate repair and roof replacement reuested

    Called Gerry's after a storm that destroyed my roof and was told that I would have to wait until they had time. I waited for 2 weeks when my fire alarm sounded as now the roof was leaking after another heavy downpour. I had dealt with Gerry in person years ago and felt confident that the company I knew would deliver. Called again my 2nd and now critical request and was told by a male employee that they didn't have time. I asked him to recommend someone for an emergency repair and was told that he didn't know of anyone. I was floored by the lack of concern. Fortunately, I found a gem in the field elsewhere. I used to recommend Gerry to my friends. No Longer.

    Roof

    We had our roof completely stripped and reshingled by them in 2008. We have had them back at least one to two times a year because shingles were lifting or falling off . This past Wednesday we lost shingles right down to the bare wood when we called them they told us the shingles would be covered but we would have to pay for their labour. According to my contract they are supposed to be covered for 10 years for workmanship. Should still be covered for another year. They think I am going to give them anymore money for their shoddy work their nuttier than squirrel crap. My aunt used them in January to replace her shingles she lost half her roof shingles this past Wednesday with the winds. If you are looking to get your roof replaced do not use them their work is garbage and they obviously don't stand behind the job.

    Unfortunately this is called an act of nature. I am sorry that you feel this way. We do try our best for our customers. Cursing,swearing and calling the owner names gets people absolutely nowhere. The owner did say that we would be there Saturday to fix - before he could finish the names and swearing started. As far as the aunt goes - I cannot respond as I have no clue who she is.

    New Siding

    I inquired with three separate companies for siding install and all were well within the same price; however, Gerry's Roofing was able to accommodate my timing requests for install (within six weeks) and, although we had some delays due to weather, the project went without a hitch. They even corrected some minor roof issues while installing the siding, and left the job site clean. Happy to have chosen and will be working with them again on additional roof work.
