We’re absolutely delighted with our new deck, and with the prompt, professional service we received from Hickory Dickory Decks. From design through to completion, the workmanship and professionalism were exemplary ! Initially I wasn’t sure about a deck for our front entrance, but the existing stonework really had to be replaced. The new deck was completed in October, and it’s brought a fresh, contemporary look to our home. It’s even made my outdoor Christmas décor look amazing ! Thank you Pierce and James for your top quality work, and outstanding customer service !

We love our new deck! Everyone who sees it is impressed. Matt and Thyan displayed impressive talent and carpentry skills building it and did so in a very timely fashion. Charleigh was awesome and full of information and tips and managed to find us some ways to cut costs. She fit us into a very busy schedule and got the job done with no problems. A very good experience!

When we originally started to get our deck re-done we met several people and from the beginning were impressed with the amount of detail Bob put into it. We changed plans mid way and had an extension added to our deck. Bob was patient and had our best interest in mind. He gave us great suggestions and gave us an even better team. The entire crew was extremely professional and nice to work with. A big shout out to everyone that worked on it- Fred, Andrew, Art, Mack and Adam. Bob showed us the vision and you executed it beautifully. We love our deck.

Working with Steve and his team from Aurora Hickory Dickory Decks has been a great experience. Right from our first meeting it was pretty clear we'd be moving forward with Hickory Dickory Decks to build a 400 sqft deck with a partial roof covering. Most of the other contractors I had met with merely asked what I want, took a couple pictures and said they would send us a quote. Steve spent over 2 hours with us on the first meeting listening to what we wanted and why, going over all the different options and offering suggestions about different approaches. By the end of that meeting we knew more about decks and roofs than we ever thought we would. We also really appreciated Steve's full disclosure pricing where we were able to see the costs of all upgrades and items separately which helped us decide what to include and what to exclude. I'm a numbers guy and I really like being able to crunch the numbers under different circumstances and I hate having to go back and ask for a revised quote based on changes. With Steve's full disclosure pricing I was able to mock up my own quote (within reason) with whatever options I as interested in and then take it back to Steve to get a final tally. Once work began on the project, Steve's team worked fast and the deck/roof was usable in less than a week. The speed at which they worked did not compromise quality either. I am very detail oriented and was constantly checking their work and almost never had any issues. In the infrequent situations where I did, Steve was very open to my concerns and would either walk me through why something was done a certain way or discuss alternative options. In the end, all of my concerns were addressed in a fair and satisfactory way. The same approach also applied to changes in scope. Throughout any project, things tend to change when you see it take shape. Steve did a great job to accommodate our changes, and when possible, those changes did not affect overall cost. In the cases where the changes did impact cost, we had a discussion and agreed on a fair approach forward. This openness and discussion was key to our relationship as when we got to the end of the job and made our final payment, there was no sticker shock as we were well aware of the initial cost and any additional costs due to scope changes. In the end we have an amazing covered deck that looks great and is super functional. It essentially has added to the usable space of our house and we take great pride in knowing it was done properly. I would highly recommend Steve and his team for any deck/covering needs you may have.

My deck had been demolished and the posting completed, however, the person responsible did not do the work up to building code standard. I spoke with a number of companies to start from scratch and redue, to code, the work that was done on the deck foundation and to complete the composite/aluminum railing deck. I selected Hickory Dickory Decks particularly for the professional presentation and education received from Steve. He wanted to produce what I had in mind and performed a detailed assessment to ensure we all were on the same page. This was much appreciate. The service provided by all was helpful, courteous and considerate. The work was done in a timely manner and as promised. Best of all the workmanship is excellent!

Several years ago we hired Hickory Dickory to install a new composite deck. We were delighted. The workmanship was top quality and the materials appeared as we had expected them to be. After 5 years the materials began to warp and continued to deteriorate until this year when the deck was unusable. We met with Brad at Hickory Dickory and were told that the original company who made the decking boards had gone out of business. We came to an agreement for the replacement of the decking. The two-man crew rebuilt the deck in about 2 weeks. They were tidy, on time and skillful. The end result is beautiful.

The top of our 14yr old composite failed and we had Hickory Dickory Decks (Mississauga North West) install a new vinyl deck, wood pergola with awning and railing, as well as beefing up the original frame. Bob was an absolute pleasure to deal with and Andrew and the others in his crew did a fabulous job, including leaving the site clean and tidy at the end of each day. The new deck is as solid as the floors in the house and looks great. My wife and I couldn't be happier with the new deck and pergola.
