I wanted a nice composite deck so I went out and got 3 quotes. Ibrahim and his team provided the best customer service by far out of the 3 companies I contacted. He came and did an initial site visit and spoke to my wife and I about what we wanted. He then came back on a few occasions to show us all the different kinds of composite material and talked us through the process of designing our deck. Not only did they provide the best customer service, they were able to squeeze us in and complete the deck in early May, while the other two companies were looking into end of June before they could begin. The deck was completed in just over 3 days and they cleaned up the job site when they were done. They were also very timely and contacted us to let us know when they would be working. We are very happy with our deck and would recommend Ibrahim and his team to anyone.

About 14 years ago my wife and I hired Hickory Dickory Decks to build us a back yard deck after years of being unsatisfied with an interlock patio. We were extremely pleased with the results and after 14 years feel the same. This year 2014, it was time for some stair repair, the weather had eventually caused some damage and we decided to explore the possibility of having a new pergola and privacy screen created and added. Geoff Aucoin met with us and spent some time listening to our wishes and reviewing some photographs were had taken offline. He then created a drawing, provided an estimate of costs, a payment schedule and a time for start-up. Within a couple of weeks work began and we had the pleasure of meeting two skilled carpenters Fred and Adam. Fred build the deck 14 years ago and is extremely experienced. Adam has been with the company a couple of years and is a very strong up and comer. I watched the men going about their business as they rebuilt steps and created the pergola with privacy screen. I have an obsessive eye for small detail and it became very apparent so does Fred and Adam. Many complex angles were cut and problems to be solved. Using a level, square and tape measure were as important to them as their other equipment. They took great care even with the smallest of detail such as lining up screws. I spoke with Fred and Adam every day and they were a pleasure to speak with always upbeat and helpful. The work they have done has exceeded our expectations and we are very pleased. Even the cleanup crew who removed the debris where a couple of great guys. I want to thank Hickory Dickory Decks for there outstanding work and I have no hesitation recommending them. We had recently moved into our new home and immediately we wanted to redo the deck in our backyard. It was old and had a funky layout. We called three different local decking companies and found one company that stood heads and tails above the rest. The name of that company was Hickory Dickory Decks. After speaking with Geoff, we arranged a visit to our home. Geoff was on time (a little early actually) and very professional. He offered suggestions and ideas that other companies did not. His designs allowed us to maximize the space of our deck and obtain a fantastic layout with high quality finishes. The quote we received was among the most competitive and we felt that considering the high quality product we choose, we were comfortable moving forward. Boy are we glad that we did. The installers (Ibrahim and his team) were incredible. They arrived on time and worked extremely hard, cleaning up the job site at the end of each day. In the end, we could not be more pleased with the final product. We've made so many great memories on our new deck that will last a lifetime. Thanks Geoff, Ibrahim + Team!!!

We first met Geoff Aucoin in 2009. Being naive new home-owners back then, we called Geoff to get a quote on replacing our old deck before realizing we had so much other work to do on the house. A new roof, a new boiler, basement water-proofing, chimney replacement and drive-way re-paving later - it was finally seeing carpenter bees and ants destroying what was left of our tired 20+ year deck that pushed us to replace it. During our correspondence in 2009, Geoff was always helpful and never pushy. He followed up by e-mail a couple of times over the next two years. When we were ready to replace our deck, Geoff was the first person that we had in mind. His professionalism, courtesy, know-how, honesty had left such an impression on us that even 5+ years and experiences with 1/2 dozen contractors later, we thought of him first when we were looking to replace the deck. And 6 months after the completion of the deck, we know that we made the right decision to have signed with Geoff. It was a great experience from start to finish. Geoff walked us through the planning process, working through iterations of the design. He pointed out to us which ideas would require an application for variance from the City, provided multiple options for materials, set everything up on the quotes as options. He was patient and helpful throughout the process. We decided on a composite deck with cedar trim. The professionalism and courtesy of Hickory Dickory Decks was outstanding - not just Geoff, but it was evident with every one of the entire team: Ibrahim, the lead, and his crew, Kosal and Sheldon. These guys are not just good at what they do, they are good people. The entire build took about 4 weeks from taking down the old deck to completing the final trim. The completed deck is absolutely beautiful. Ibrahim showed great attention to detail, and accommodated our modifications to the design of the steps as we went along. We could see what we were paying for in the workmanship and materials. The workmanship is evident in the substructure to each joint to the hanging of the door to the final sanding. The material quality is visible in the deck boards to the lights to the trim even down to the post caps and fasteners. During the build, my neighbour's tree fell over and covered the newly laid substructure of our deck (thankfully no damage). It also destroyed our fence. It was looking like its best days were behind it already and we had really wanted to replace it despite our neighbour's reluctance. Well, the fallen tree sure helped my neighbour to give the go-ahead on the project. And HDD did a fantastic job building us a solid fence with 6x6 posts and deck boards for the fence screen! I am 200+ lbs and could hang off the completed fence without any noticeable give. During the ice storm in December, another neighbour's tree branch fell on the fence. The fence still looks great (except for one cracked post cap). HDD is not for those who are looking for the cheapest price, although they are very accommodating with options to match a realistic budget. But if quality work and solid materials matter to you, it's tough to beat Geoff and Ibrahim and their team.

Over the duration of several jobs including fence replacement and deck refinishing, I found Hickory Dickory Decks to be refreshingly candid, thorough and professional. Most notably, my dealings with Ibrahim reconfirmed my faith that an expensive project can be done with a high level of quality combined with a superior level of customer service. Job well done by a professional group. I would highly recommend them to others.

My wife and I wanted to have a big deck built (around 400 sq ft), so we had several companies come in to do a quote for us. Right from the start, we noticed the difference in professionalism with Hickory Dickory Decks. Our contact person was Geoff Aucoin and he was exceptional. Very honest, personable, and customer service oriented. They were a bit more expensive than other companies, but we had a really good feeling about them, and we were right. We wanted a very low maintenance deck, and originally chose a product that we liked from a new manufacturer. However, due to some issues with the manufacturer (that had nothing to do with Hickory Dickory Decks), we had to find another product. Geoff was very accommodating and quite attentive during the whole process. We ending up choosing another product from one of their long-term suppliers and we could not be happier. Their installers are very professional, and I can honestly say that we always felt that we were valued customers, even after money changed hands. There was not one interaction that left me displeased. I have heard horror stories from friends that had quite the opposite experience that went with the lowest cost builder. I would recommend Hickory Dickory Decks to anyone who is looking for a beautiful, well-crafted deck!

The deck they built us last year was/is incredible. We thought it was a bit expensive at the time but given all the positive reviews, we decided to go for it! Money well spent. They were fast, clean and the deck is absolutely beautiful. Changes the whole look of our backyard.

Let's start by saying I would recommend Hickory Dickery Decks. From my first meeting with Geoff, to the guys working on the removal of the old deck to the finished product.
