I was hoping for a good quality work as I have received from this company when I replaced my furnace and A/C. Instead the humidifier installation was terrible. The installer did not bother to link the humidifier to my programmable thermostat saying only it couldn't be done despite the thermostat instructions stated otherwise. Secondly he didn't have enough aluminum hose so he patch it with plastic hose saying he doesn't want to come again. Thirdly he ran the hot water small pipe inefficiently.

The service people are not knowledgeable about the products they install and the company does not match the best possible combination of products but only supply what they have in stock. After enquiring with manufacturer and proven to them that their products are not good match they were still reluctant to make changes. I had to tell them a direct vent installation rather than they recommend that being more efficient. Service people left a big hole where the pipes entered the house and not probably seal up the side of the house. I decided to do it myself rather than asking them to come back since they are so terrible. Told me and in writing that I would get $750 rebate from Govenment but only got $650.

I had the old units replaced in May (A/C and furnace) great service, great units (Lennox) but the company didn't submit the right information to Ontario Hydro and I had to deal with this personally. Now is September and still didn't get the rebate from the Power company.

I'm a General contractor myself, having been in the industry for over 20 years, I have gone through quite a few hvac contractors myself. I've used High life Heating for the last 3 houses I've renovated and converted for oil/electric to gas, and so far I can't complain. Great prices for high end products and good quality of work.

The service provided by High Life was extremely disappointing. We sent a complaint letter to HRAC (Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Contractors of Canada) in October 2006 against High Life Heating Air Conditioning & Security Inc. for the following reasons: Problem #1: Delay of Work – We signed the contract with High Life in June 2006 for the installation of duct work, furnace and A/C but the project was not completed until the end of October 2006. The estimated time frame said prior to we signing the contract was 6-8 weeks. Problem #2: Lack of honesty – we contracted with High Life because of its claim that it does not sub-contract its work out. Only after we paid the down payment then problem begins. High Life claimed that it hired a sub-contracted engineer to conduct the building permit application and the delay was as a result of the sub-contractor which they do not have control over. Problem #3: Lack of integrity - High Life failed to follow up with its sub-contracted engineer firm regarding the building permit application. High Life continued to act as it was not their responsibility to follow up with the sub-contracted engineer regarding the permit application. Installed air conditioner in home but service was exceptional. Provided on call service for questions and calls promptly responded to. Provided clear and sales like information and did not try to sell us more than we needed. Gave us trustworthy impression of the company.
