    Deck Construction

    Alec and the Master Deck team are incredible. From initial quote process to final product, this group is top notch and very reliable. The deck / fence they built looks amazing and I would recommend these guys to any anyone.

    Custom Composite Deck

    This crew of 4 showed up to my home and cut straight to the chase. Tore down my 450 sq.foot existing deck, got rid of it, dug and filled around 16 holes in one day. I called for a quote, three day's later Alec showed up and gave a quote on the spot, which was way more reasonably priced then his competition. The masterdeck crew was one funny crew to have at my home. I was amazed in how every little detail masterdeck focused on complimented the whole peice in the end result. Thanks so much!

    Backyard deck/exterior room

    Alec does not have a website so I had sent him the following text upon completion of the job: "Alec, if you had a website for testimonials I would say thank you for a professional, fast, beautiful and sturdy job! Nicole and I are absolutely stoked by the work you and your team have performed. You brought to life what we had imagined. We now have the outdoor room we were missing and it's all thanks to you."

    Backyard deck

    Alec and his crew were fantastic! They came and built a beautiful deck to our exact specifications last November. We wanted to use Azek deck material and he had already used it before. He was prompt and put up with my changing my mind a few times regarding whether or not to build stairs or use the old ones. We are so happy with this deck and with Alec and his crew's work. Thanks for your great work Alec!

    Deck

    Alec's guys built me a fabulous deck, according to the permits I had. It has transformed my living space. The deck has a privacy screen(wall) on the East side so that I don't have to see my nauseating neighbours - that's truly worth a LOT. You can't pick your neighbours but you should pick Alec for a deck, and wait until he has time... because his timelines take a long time. It's worth the wait!

    Deck

    ...but I cannot get Alec to return my phone calls. He came, quoted us a good price, we thought about it and then asked him to do it. By that time he was booked a long way in advance. We said that was ok, talked to him, he said he'd call, but then...nothing. Several messages have gone unreturned. Very frustrating; we wasted a lot of time trying to work with them, and we're no further ahead than the day we started.

    remove old deck and build new

    Exceptional service from first visit. Alec had excellent questions to determine our needs and suggestions. Estimate start date all the way to completion of project on time. The entire team was professional, patient and worked well together! The finishing touches were great!All materials used are top notch and we are looking forward to enjoying our new, solid deck.

    New Deck Design and Construction

    In May 2010 our family contracted with Master Deck to remove our existing backyard deck and design and construct a new deck. Alec responded promptly with a reasonable quote. The crew started work when promised, worked full consecutive days, and completed the job on schedule. The carpenters were reliable, courteous, maintained a safe tidy worksite, and were responsive to requests. The design and workmanship exceeded our expectations. Having previously contracted with a more expensive and unreliable company (when we were building our front deck), we recognize and appreciate the reliability, quality and value of the work performed by Master Deck. We highly recommend the company and its work to others.

    Deck and Fence

    I priced a deck and fence with five potential companies. One of which was the GC who had worked in our home for 4 months prior(this all started becuase the price of their deck was double the price of Master Decks - in the same material). Alex advised us and helped us. Alex was the second best price of the five. Alex came to our home 3x before we gave him the job. He is at the job everyday. He and his crew exceeded our expectations. We highly recommend him. His fence was excellent as well. Great gates.

    Front Porch

    This is the second time we have used Alec and his team in as many years (see previous post on August 19, 2009). Both my neighbour and I used Mater Deck to demolish and build a new front porch. Alec goes beyond what you would expect from a normal contractor in that he offers insightful ideas and creative solutions to unexpected problems while still keeping the budget and aesthetics of the project in mind. Alec and his crew worked extremely hard (they even worked through the rain and cold in early April). They finished both projects in 5 days and on budget. I have referred Alec to friends and colleagues and all of have commented on how pleasurable an experience they had.
