After living in an 90 year old house for the past number of years I'd had enough of the poor heating distribution. The guys at Northwood inspected the house and quickly realized the issue was poorly placed duct work and floor vents. After modifying the duct work and adding several key floor vents, the heating in the house in 100% better. No more walking up the stairs into a cold second floor. The workmanship and ability of Jermiane, Justine, and Art indicated the pride they take in their work. I plan to recommend Northwood to all my neighbours.

I was lucky enough to discover Northwood Heating during a complete basement reno that started this summer. Gary and his team ran all new ducts throughout the basement, as well as several other items. (they have an awesome dryer filter they installed that eliminates all the lint flying outside onto the lawn...ask about it!) Today, Jermaine and Mark came to clean the ducts now that the reno is complete. Like their predecessors, they were courteous, punctual and hard working. I would highly recommend Northwood to anyone looking for solid work at a fair price.

I chose Northwood to install a humidifier in my home because of their excellent reputation. They sent a relatively new employee to do the job on Friday and by Saturday the drain hose had come loose from the humidifier spilling water all over the floor of my furnace room. Luckily I caught the problem early enough avoiding potential water damage to my basement. Since it was Saturday, I was unable to get a hold of anyone at Northwood. There was no emergency/after hours contact number so I left a message explaining the problem and the fact that there was a bit of mess left behind at the time of installation. After that I temporarily reattached the hose. Monday morning Gary from Northwood returned my call and apologized for the inconvenience. He came by that same day to reattach and secure the hose. He also cleaned up the area thoroughly when he was done and said to call him if there were any problems. Now we're able to enjoy the benefits of our humidifier. Thanks Gary!

Gary, Brian and their guys are fantastic. When we purchased our new house the attic air conditioning system was not working. We called 3 other companies who all said it could not be serviced. [competitor - ed.] told me the whole system had to be replaced at a cost of $13,000 (the guy who gave the quote did not even go up into the attic to look at it). Gary and Brian came over, found the leak and fixed it for under $1,000. It's been 2 years and it still works great. We later had them come to redo the duct work which had been installed improperly. This was done at a more than reasonable cost on a timely basis and without a mess. It has always been a pleasure dealing with the guys. They will always have my business and I have already recommended them to many of my friends.

After a long search through homestars and the yellow pages. I had the pleasure of having Gary and Brian replace the duct work in my 80 year old house. Gary installed confidence on our first meeting and gave a price that was better then 90% of the other quotes I had received. I had completely gutted the house, so it was important to have the work done on time so as to not delay progress. I was surprised on the first day to see Gary and Brian on my door step with two apprentices. Needless to say with four guys things happened quickly! Watching the install made me notice that these guys want to do the job right while teaching there apprentices. I look forward to having them back in the new year to replace my dated a/c unit. Gary at Northwood and Josie at the office exceeded all expectations...Their professionalism and honesty was certainly a rare find. Thank you for helping us out and fixing our heating problem at our office!

I called Brian and Gary to come inspect my furnace and found out there was a crack in the furnace and it was releasing carbon monoxide into my house. Almost right away they came in and replaced my furnace and put in a humidifier all in less then a day, there work was extremely clean and organized. They also replaced all the duct work in the furnace room, and I gotta say, it looks perfect and the house is nice and warm. All and all, Brian and Gary did a perfect job, and I highly recommend these guys.

My furnace installation by another HVAC company was tagged by the gas distributer- 45 days to repair or they shut off our gas supply for having the vents in an apparent illegal location on the side of my foundation. Brian and Gary then came to the rescue- they met the deadline, fixed all the issues and even stayed until 11:30 at night to make sure everything was to their standards. They went way beyond my expectations and it was obvious that they were not about to take any shortcuts- unlike my original contractor did. Thanks guys. I wish I could give you a higher rating than just 10 out of 10.

Brian,Gary and crew are just phenomenal. Their craftsmanship is just like a Rembrant painting. Literally a work of art.I like to find an excuse just to go down the basement to look at the masterpiece they created. They also noted the installation by a previous contractor was not up to par. They sloped the evaporator coil to drain properly and relocated the humidifier. Also they noted the drain line from the A/C unit was plugged.This was mainly due to the fact a too small diameter hose was used. New 3/4 PVC tubing was installed to correct this deficiency. I would also like to comment on the duct cleaning. Art and Mark did a masterful job of cleaning and sanitizing them. They too were conscientious and professional. They took whatever time needed to do a thorough job. Now for the cleanliness aspect. All the crew at Northwood made sure not to soil our wood floors by using dropcloths and wearing plasic booties. They also thoroughly cleaned up around the furnace area so not a scrap of debris was remaining. In summary, Brian and Gary believe in the philosophy that superior craftsmanship and customer satisfaction are the keys to running a successful HVAC business. They are a rare breed these days where only profit is the motivating factor.

Northwood redid the duct work in the old part of our house, installed new duct work in the new part of the house and added gas bbq line. They were profession, courteous but most importantly, did the job right and on time. When working on our house, if they noticed things that were done improperly by the previous owner, they would let us know and then fix the problems. They were even teaching the crew that was installing our fireplace (from a different company) about the code as it relates to gas lines. We would highly recommend this company to our friends and family as we were very satisfied with their service. Thanks guys for a job well done!
