A big thanks to the staff of Northwood, especially Santo who supervised the installation of the new unit. He and his assistant had a tough job getting the unit into the yard --they had to bring it in over the garage! -- but they persevered and called in reinforcements. The next challenge was running the new hose/pipe through the ceiling: again they went the extra mile to avoid making unnecessary cuts in the drywall. It was a long day, but Santo and his assistant got the job done properly --and they left my yard tidier than they found it.

Santo is a master. He is an artist with sheet metal. He has some pretty talented young guys who work with him, but even after a very long day of meticulous furnace installation and task delegation, he does a walk around. Anything he sees that is below his standard, as sharp edge, a piece of pipe insufficiently anchored, he touches up. It's a joy to see someone who cares so much about the job he's doing and it represents his company. I'd had quotes from a handful of other companies before choosing this one. Northwood's sales rep Michael was patient and reasonably knowledgeable. I'm slightly disappointed that he felt he needed to upsell me a new humidifier because mine was outdated. In getting other quotes, I learned that this was not true; even the installation crew thought it was working fine. Nevertheless, Mike was prompt with answering messages and questions. His quote was not the cheapest I'd had, even for the specific product, but he answered my questions in detail and was willing to try different options. The installation took 2 days for the Furnace and air conditioner and at times there were as many as 8 people working on the job, coming and going, communicating and sharing the load. This was back in January. Now that I've had the chance to try out my new York furnace and my Air Conditioner and am completely happy with both, I am happy to recommend this company.

Had a very old unit replaced with a new York furnace/HVAC. Can't say enough about the guys that did the work. It was a cold day when they replaced the furnace and even though they scheduled 2 days to get the work done, they stayed LATE into the first night to ensure that my family would have heat that night. 5 star service. I will and have recommended to others

We purchased a older home in the Riverdale area knowing we would need a new furnace and ac. We hired Northwood to install the the HVAC equipment and they were awesome. Just before the installation, the 25 year old rental electric hot water tank went, Northwood was able to install a Tankless hot water system the next day. Thorough, and detailed, they were awesome.

Recently had the pleasure of working with Northwood to add a York Air Conditioner/Heat Pump, HRV, Steam Humidifier, HEPA Air Cleaner and Media Filter. I can't compliment the guys enough, the system was installed flawlessly and my basement was cleaner when they left than it was when they started. I would strongly recommend Northwood Heating and Air Conditioning.

I hired Northwood Heating&A/C to replace the 20 year old furnace and A/C in my newly purchased home, plus install a humidifier and HEPA filter unit and clean the ductwork. Of the 5 companies that came to give quotes, I selected Northwood because I was happy with the specs of the equipment they suggested, they were competitively priced on the services I went with (a little expensive on some accessories like steam humidifier and HRV), they could do all the work themselves including duct cleaning with no outsourcing and their salesman was the only one of the 5 to pull out a tape measure, weigh up the installation and make me feel comfortable that there were no extra costs unforeseen and unquoted. I was very happy with the services Northwood provided. The installation was extremely well done, with tidy duct work and drain lines and caulking on every joint. Two installers came on both of 2 days and were ontime in the morning, polite and worked very hard. The 2nd day the duct work guys came and again worked hard and kept each room clean. Another team arrived by the end of the 2nd day to help finish up, including Brian one of the owners, and the equipement was explained in detail before they left. The two main installers moved the hot water tank half a foot so the furnace could be properly accessed for maintenance, as well as drilled new holes for the A/C lines through the side of the house as the previous install was sloppy, both at no charge. After 2 weeks I am very happy with the performance of the system. I highly recommend if you're HVAC shopping that you contact Northwood for a quote. My thanks again to everyone on the team!

A few weeks ago, we got a second lint trap for our dryer. I was shocked to see how much lint goes through the dryers lint trap. I heard that is one of the biggest causes of fire, and I believe it. This product was well worth the small investment.

After returning from a few days away last weekend we discovered a very cold house upon our return. The blower was making a strange noise and there wasn't any heat being generated. Having purchased our house only a few months ago we called the installer of the previous owners. What a mistake that was! We called [company name removed -- Ed] (they do not deserve capitals) and the service man that came out became rude enough upon asking him a few questions about our disfunctional furnace that I asked him to leave. After telling him not to come back on the property he used some choice expletives to say farewell. Obviously [company name removed -- Ed] should change their names to [company name removed -- Ed]. After a referral from another contractor we called and spoke to John from Northwood. Dealing with Northwood was like a breath of fresh air after dealing with [company name removed -- Ed]. John came out and quickly diagnosed the problem as a failed blower, he was friendly, informative and professional. He returneed later in the day to install the new blower motor and informed us that it was covered under the manufacturer's warranty. We paid for the time John spent installing the new motor which was very reasonable and are very happy with the professional service we received! In the future we know who to call for our HVAC maintenance and service needs, the pro's at Northwood. Thanks John and Northwood for bringing back peace of mind and comfort to our lives. Gary and the guys at Northwood were terrific to work with. They replaced all of the HVAC in our house in less than three days and greatly improved the air circulation in our house. Our new furnace is working well and the tankless water heater was a great idea.

We are very pleased with the job of installing our new Hepafilter today. Santo and Carl were friendly, informative, courteous, very professional and very careful and neat. Santo uncovered and corrected an existing problem which could have led to safety problems if left unattended in our home. We are very grateful for his expertise. We would highly recommend this company and this team and will be calling them for future needs.
