The guys were great! They were so dilligent with their work. I know for sure that they did a great job and didn't leave until they were satisfied. I also really liked dealing with Josie in the office, she talked me through the different options and what was the best fit for me (which ended up being the cheaper of the options). I also had Gary come in and clean the furnace. He also identified a couple of problems that needed immediate attention. Josie called the very next day to set up another appointment. So professional! We live in a typical brick, semi-detached home, approx. 1000 sq.ft incl. basement. Though the previous owners had pride of ownership and put quality work into the home, they had replaced the hot water rad system (enjoyed by the majority of our neighbours) with an inefficient electric baseboard system. We bought the house anyway since it was the best of the lot in our price range 7 years ago. Northwood were courteous, professional and caring from quote to invoice. We were concerned about losing what little space we have to ducts and return vents etc. Gary greatly improved the mechanical plan we had hired another company to draw and Santo and team made it happen! The team worked in tight conditions as we did not put anything into storage, they were polite and communicated clearly, they cleaned up each day and always left with a smile. Northwood has brought an end to 7 winters of wearing toques and down vests inside the house! I highly recommend this company without hesitation.

I obtained five estimates for replacing my 23 year old furnace(120,000BTU) and air conditioner (4Ton) and for a new heat recovery ventilator. After interviewing all five, my choices narrowed to two finalists. Northwood won the job, not on price, but on homestars reviews and that Mike Holmes uses them on his projects. Northwood was a bit more expensive than the runner-up, but I had better confidence that I would get an excellent job done. Oh, I almost forgot part of the job was also to do a thorough duct cleaning, the guys spent 6 hours on the ducts, compared to less than 2 hours by Sears several years ago. Two men came to do the ducts the day before the HVAC crew(sometime 2 men and sometimes 4)arrived. The HVAC job took two full days, and the care they took was exceptional. At my request,they also relocated my hot water heater to a more efficient location (space-wise)at extra cost because it was not part of the original quote. A very neat job. A/C in my condo was not working. Northwood came to repair it. Said my thermostat was broken so they put in a temporary one and would come back to put in one that was better for my condo. A week later A/C did not work again. They came back and put in a thermostat that looked exactly like the original that was there. I now have two small holes created by the temporary one they put in. Told me I needed a new compressor or a new unit and that they would get back to me. This was in September. I followed up 2x. Once via phone a week later and was told someone would call me with a quote and again a mont later via emai. I guess my job was too small. A bit frustrating since I had to take time off work and have the holes in the wall. The only positive thing I have to say is that John the technician was very professional and courteous.

These guys were awesome -- professional, courteous, tidy. An estimate for half a day's work turned into 2 full days -- with no change to the price, no comments or grousing about how they had erred, no attempts to shift the onus on me. I offered them an easier method of running the ducting (a different routing that would have affected the heating but have been much easier for them to do in light of the unexpected obstructions) -- and they wouldn't dream of it -- they didn't want to hinder the efficacy of the new heating. On top of all that, it was well crafted work, great insulation on the new ducting. Very very impressive. Highly recommend these guys to work with.

The Northwood crew; Wayne, John, and Brain were onsite for the better part of a Saturday to complete duct clean and furnace check-up. Recently purchase residence, I was new to this service. Since the work was complete the air seems fresher and the addition of the in-duct humidifier was well worth the ~$350 investment allowing me to dispense with single room units that need constant refilling. More importantly, I can control the overall house humidity. They performed a good job, kept the work-site clean, and charged fairly. I have already recommended them to another homeowner.

My furnace just died, did some research online, close my eyes and pick Northwood Heating & Air Conditioning Co. and hope that I do the right thing. Man, it turned out great. John Eipl came about an hour after I called and within 2 hours later my furnace came back to life again. John is very knowledgeable and answer all my question promptly. I called on a recommendation and set a date for duct cleaning. They showed up on time. After setting up their equipment Wayne mentioned that I had a gas leak. Direct Energy had installed a new water heater, with the fittings installed up side down and never checked that there was a gas leak. The owner Gary of Northwood AC and Heating came over after a call from Wayne and fixed the gas leak, then gave me a name and phone number to complain to Direct Energy. The attention and time that Northwood offered to my problem was unbelievable. Extremely happy with the service.

Out of the numerous comparable quotes we received, Northwood was relaxed, informative, straightforward and non-condescending. We put our trust in them, and they came through. They were quick, yet thorough. We would highly recommend this company for anyone's HVAC needs.

Highly recomend this company. Our house is more than 40 years and those equipment are quite old as well. The crew were great, especially Gary and Michael, they come our house for many times and they were very nice, polite and knowledgeable. Our family are very happy with the result!
