My husband and I moved into our new townhouse earlier this year and are very happy with our home. We did have a few problems (we were delayed for a couple of months which we expected) but in the end our house was worth waiting for. Everyone we dealt with at Primont was really helpful. The sales agents were very patient with all of our questions and really showed that they cared about their jobs and about us. The decor centre is gorgeous with so many options to choose from. We were on a budget, but we did get the hardwood floors stained as well as the staircase which we though was a pretty good value. We also upgraded the kitchen counters and got pot drawers, etc. and we did the glass shower. All together we spent around eight thousand dollars on top of our credit. We did have a small plumbing problem but it was taken care of very quickly. I was actually surprised at some of the reviews because we found the customer service department to be very helpful. We never had a problem with them at all, maybe sometimes it's how you ask. Overall, we are very happy with our first purchase. We would definitely buy from Primont again.Answer from pro:

Over the last 12 years, I have purchased and lived in 2 of Primont Homes’ new communities, both located in Richmond Hill. Everyone from their sales team, décor centre representatives and members of their service centre have always been accommodating, efficient and helpful to our needs. We are well aware that nothing in any construction project is ever perfect and completed without any deficiencies throughout the process. However, Primont Homes have always listened to our concerns and have rectified any issue in a timely and a very professional manner. Combined with my family, parents and brother, we have purchased 7 of Primont’s Homes, 5 of which we have lived in so far and 2 of which, have yet to be built. My family knows what it’s like in owning a Primont Home and we are very pleased to be a part of the Primont Homes’ family. As Primont Homes continues to build in communities we can live in, we will always remain their customers!Answer from pro:
We are so glad you have been part of the Primont family for the last 12 years and have had a positive experience. We have a great team at Primont Homes that is ready to help you and address any concerns you may have in a timely and professional manner. We look forward to building new communities in the future for you and your family.

This is our family's second experience buying from Primont as we already own a Primont Home in the Eagle Hills subdivision. When my daughter and son-in-law were looking to buy their first home, the timing was perfect for the opening of the Renaissance Townhomes in Woodbridge. I honestly have nothing but good things to say about this builder. The sales agents (Josie and Mike) are so friendly and knowledgable. They answered all of our questions and were very patient and professional. They made our second buying experience as positive as the first. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Primont Homes to family and friends. Everyone we dealt with went above and beyond to make sure any concerns were taken care of and that we were happy with our new home.Answer from pro:
Hi Lisa. Thank you for taking the time to post a review. We are happy to hear about your positive experience. We do strive to make the process a smooth one for purchasers. We are hoping to hear from you again once your home is complete!!

Make sure you know what you're paying for, these aren’t the friendliest people to deal with and they definitely do not keep their word – all their worried about is getting their money. Supposedly I was invited to an exclusive VIP event where I was offered a "deal" price on the purchase. The catch is I couldn't put any caps on levies or address any other concerns I spoke about with my lawyer prior to showing up to my appointment. They even completely removed the page that gives the buyer the right to have a lawyer review the contract after having signed it (which I didn't even notice till they finally gave me my copy of the signed contract a week later!). But anyways I thought to myself "I got a good price so if anything goes wrong (such as increases in anything) I have that wiggle room." So a month later, I go back to the sales office to drop off the next deposit and realize that no they didn't give me the exclusive price, my contract shows the same amount which is listed on their current price list a month later! So after trying to get in touch with Primont Homes and eventually having to bring the issue to the sales reps since I hadn't heard back from Primont, I'm told that they don't write up the contract and that the computer automatically generates the numbers based on a given date. So naturally, this is where I think the problem occurred, maybe someone forgot to go in and overwrite the computer. I finally get in touch with the VP at Primont to explain. After a long discussion she says all she can offer is to return my deposits and end the contract and she adds in that the lot I have is in high demand and others want it anyways. So it seems like no loss for Primont, but she quickly goes back on her word by sending an email saying that if I want to end the contract I would need to discuss with my lawyer. The contract states that changes to the contract can be made as long as both parties agree, so she could very well offer to return my deposits or make some sort of adjustment since there was an error in the purchase price. All in all, you cannot trust anything they say. I may just be stuck in this, but for the rest of you researches looking to buy keep in mind the increases in price from the original to whatever they’re currently offering. Now that you know the price differences you may be able to get away with adding some extras into your contract or getting them to pay some of those closing costs. Or you may just not want to do business with these people at all as they're not the best to deal with. In response to the "Company Review", the point I'm trying to get across is that Primont (and it's sales agents) aren't true to their word. First, the sales agents will tell you what you want to hear not necessarily what is true. In my case, the sales agents even contradicted each other - Mike said that the price list (with lower prices) that I had received was based on prices that were being offered months ago and that the prices have been going up since then, then when I spoke with Josie she said these prices were from a friends and family event on March 6th,2014 (2 days before my scheduled VIP event day). So someone must not be telling the truth here because the stories don't match. Later, when I dealt with head office, I was offered an option outside of the terms of the contract which I said I'd get back to you with an answer but at that point you no longer wanted to agree to that offer and retracted it. As long as both parties agree then amendments to the contract are possible. So you see, Primont has not kept their word and I'm not sure they're even truthful in what they say, it feels like I've been tricked with what they say compared to what goes into the contract.Answer from pro:
Hi Jennifer I am disappointed to read your post after speaking with you at length regarding your purchase. You were never mistreated. Before entering Into a firm contract at grand opening you were given a full copy of our agreement to review with your lawyer before coming back to purchase your home. The price you paid was the price at the grand opening there was never any miscommunication about that. You were clearly advised by the sales staff that we do not cap levies on your site as construction is too far off (2 years away) and we would have no indication of what levies would be at that time. Both you and your boyfriend signed the offer over 2 months ago and you are coming back now to state that we charged you too much. The fact that noone called you back is untrue as you said you don't recall who you left a message with ? We do not negotiate extras into our agreements as you were advised especially at grand opening. The fact that prices were still the same a month later have no bearing in your purchase. It is up to the vendor to decide when to raise prices. I find your post to be very offensive as it is untrue. You should definitely speak with your lawyer as mentioned if you are trying to back out of the deal as you have entered into a firm agreement hence why there was no schedule to have your lawyer review. It was taken out because it did not apply which you would have noticed when you both signed the agreement. Feel free to call head office again to speak with me if you have any further questions.

Review left on 19 Jul 2014Rating: 0 out of 5Never buy from Primont!!!!
I would not recommend buying from this builder; I regret it 100%! Poor service, quality! Don't be sucked in by their prices and the sales people who tell you what you want to hear. Everyone I know, myself included, who bought from them, absolutely regrets it. They are terrible in customer service. The Customer service rep Andre has no business dealing with the public- he is extremely rude and condescending. Kristy from Customer service is great until you contact her regarding things gone wrong or empty promises. Once they get your money, you are treated with total disrespect or simply ignored. They are dishonest about what is included in the floor plan and agreement and change things at their discretion with no notice to the buyer. The worst part is, once you sign the contract which states that they are able to do this, you give up your rights. Its unbelievable that they can get away with this. Do your research. Save yourself time, money and avoid the stress and frustration. My lawyers tried to warn me not to buy from them; I wish so badly I had taken their advice and listened to the negative reviews I had read online from past Primont home buyers. Go to a more reputable builder!! Please don't make the same mistake I have. I have warned everyone I know not to purchase from them to avoid the stress and wasted money! A friend of mine also purchased from them and is contemplating suing the company for false advertisement and other issues. They have a very bad rep according to all the local groups I've joined on Facebook. Even my family and friends in other countries have heard negative reviews through social media and that they can't be trusted. Unbelievable! heres hoping nothing else goes wrong.Review from HomeOwner HomeOwner

Do not buy a new home from this builder. ROB doesn't exist, hes not a service manager, he will not return a single EMAIL you sent him. They will drag on your issue until your warranty is over. Water leaking issues from garage and bed room. DO NOT BUY from PRIMONT HOMES. endless delay. They give you the cheapest quality grass, they were half dead when it was laid. Above ground basement is not built right. no insulation. cold in the winter. This builder doesnt build things right. Service man only comes in the fix 1-2 small items and you have to waste a day waiting for them. they wont stay longer than 30mins. imagine on your PDI, you have 100 plus items to follow? they will never fix everything on your PDI.Answer from pro:

Worst customer service. Mike was great, but everyone else is rude and doesn't know how to deal with customers. And you will be dealing with them on a regular basis because of all of the problems and deficiencies! The worst part is, that there was an issue with the grading of our house so they removed the steps leading from our sliding doors into the backyard (without any notice and without telling us anything - imagine if we didn't notice and stepped out there and fell! And they just left it like that for over a month) I emailed them several times but didn't get a response. Finally I asked one of the workers that were working on site about our steps and he said the City Building Inspector said our house was too high so we would need a railing or a deck of some kind. I emailed Rob and Kristy and told them, and their response was that we would have a Juliet balcony installed. At first I thought they misunderstood - we are a middle unit in a row of townhouses, surely they wouldn't bar us access to our own backyard!! But that's exactly what they did. So now we have no access to our backyard because they put in juliet guard rails! I've never heard of such a thing! So because Primont Homes is so cheap, they refuse to build us a deck due to the grade (which is their fault anyway), they have decided that installing a Juliet balcony and barring our access to our backyard is a reasonable solution. Save yourself the trouble and headaches and go with another builder. I would not recommend Primont Homes to anyone. Update: Rob has been in contact with me after I wrote this review, and he has been as helpful as he can be. He has tried to salvage the relationship between me and Primont Homes, which I appreciate. I am still dealing with the issue of the Juliet balcony on our sliding doors to the backyard however, and it's now been escalated to our lawyers to deal with. While I still wouldn't recommend Primont Homes because of this issue and the fact that I'm forced to go to my lawyer to deal with this rather than Primont just give us access to our own backyard, I rescind my earlier statement and think Rob has done what he could and has tried to provide good service but his hands are tied.Answer from pro:
Hi W.Devine. This is Robert George the Service Manager at Primont Homes and we have spoken about the Juliet balcony issue. I have taken your concern very seriously and the team at Primont Homes has been working very hard to get a resolution to this issue. I am pleased to say Primont Homes is going to be building decks at our cost for the homeowners that have a grading issue and have received Juliet balcony. Kristy will be in contact with you and all the homeowners about the specifics within the next week.

I've never been treated so rudely before by a customer service manager! Rob doesn't know the first thing about customer service and instead of rectifying a problem he brushes it off by saying "I can't watch what these contractors do, it's out of my hands". I have never felt so belittled by anyone before, he talks down to you like you are a child! The service is horrible no calls you to follow up, garbage is left everywhere and no delivers on promises. This has been the biggest headache I've ever experienced, and I have no way out.Answer from pro:

I made the mistake of buying from Primont....oh the sales people do a great job of telling you what you want to hear.I closed in November 2013,supposedly bought a "Inventory home"......they are still installing stuff, fixing stuff in March 2014. The Service Manager Rob ,needs to be sent for some lessons in Customer Service and courtesy....he is a very poor excuse for a Service Mgr, There is NO QUALITY in the workmanship ,inspite of quality fixtures being used. There is no inspection of work being performed. The windows are probably the cheapest quality they could find from a reputable company. The Customer service dept, except for MIKE, act as though they are doing you a favour by listening to you. Raymond used Gyproc putty to fix dents in the front metal doors!!! also to fix damage on closet doors. If you buy from these guys, make sure everything is completed to YOUR satisfaction before you part with your cash. Here is the best one yet...my furnace is practically sitting on the drain in the basement & the Service Mgr told me "I am making an issue out of nothing" By the way....this is my third house in Markham.....Answer from pro:
