    Condo repairs

We had several problems witht he condo shortly after purchase including cracks in the tub, cracks in the floor tiles. The tub was "fixed" however the compound used had left the tub looking used. They have completely ignored the floor tiles cracking, Tarion home warranty was required to address Solmar's ineptitude

    Answer from pro:

    not my fault

    They were my condo builder

I have bought a brand new condo in Whitby about 1.5 years ago. It was only through a lot of patience on my end that I would get some response. I had to get their bathtub manufacturer in twice to fix a scratched oversized tub, which I had paid extra as an upgrade and the last repair still is not satisfactory. They clearly left off the polishing coat. The final straw was when my ceramic floor tiles in my kitchen and foyer started cracking during the first year and I noted it in my 1 year Tarion Warrenty inspection. Solmar refused to come in and fix the problem (total of 15 tiles)stating that it was not warrentable. I paid the $50 to Tarion to get their opinion and they agreed with me that it was, due to poor materials (reasonably they should be expected to last past the first year-at least). Solmar still refuses to do anyting about it and now I am forced to get a contractor to come in and do the job for something that Solmar should have taken care of. I am not impressed and will not buy from Solmar again. They also had us pay the property taxes while we were paying occupancy fees (the rent for living in the place until they get their paperwork in order with the city). Who heard of tenants paying property taxes!!! Not trustworthy at all and I beleive there is a class action suit being filed for this matter.

    New Condo / Town Home

Great pricing but perhaps that's why it caused lots of days. Moved into the place in June and now October and still things not finished. The foundation is leaking and needs to be fixed. Bathroom fan just installed last week. Doors not finished. Things taking too long to get finished - still waiting. 30 day form to make sure things are finished and still outstandings.
