The estimate was fairly done and very informative. Proved to be completely competitive once I checked others. The workers were very timely, considerate, informative and friendly. Upon close inspection, the quality of the work done is excellent. Very professionally done. The site was left spotless when they left and they were done more quickly then estimated. I highly recommend Top Hat for a job well done at competitive rates. Their assessments are honest and clear. Great stuff!

I called Top Hat to have my chimney cleaned, I explained in the call that I have a wood stove. The fellow came and said they didn't tell him it was a wood stove. He looked at the stove and said it was impossible to clean because of the 45 degree angle from the stove pipe to the chimney. He did not inspect the chimney, he said I need to have a cleanout installed before it can be cleaned and a liner. He would take the report in to the office and someone would come and give me a quote. He also stated my fireplace was unsafe to use. They charged me $78.00 dollars for absolutely nothing Today I had another company in, wett certified, had no problem cleaning the chimney which he said was very clean to begin with. I wouldn't recommend this company at all. They may have more positives then negatives...up to you to take a chance.

I was so pleased with my recent chimney repair by Top Hat. The workers were on time, polite, and very professional, and did a wonderful job. The price was right too. I will definitely recommend this company to my friends and family.

Top Hat Chimney Sweeps installed chimney caps and did some masonry work at my home. All of the work done was totally satisfactory and the jobsite was left perfectly clean when the work was completed. I would not hesitate to recommend this company for chimney or other masonry work.

We have two fireplaces in our new house. I wanted to get them both to code before using them, because I'd had a house fire when I was growing up. When the guy showed up, he smelled like booze. He gave me a review of what he recommended to get the chimneys to code and said another guy would call me with an estimate for getting it to code. He charged me $65 for that. Two weeks go by, no call from the other guy. I called the head office and mention all this. He gave me the number of the estimate guy (apparently they sub-contract all these people, so they don't actually work for the company). I called him and left a message asking him to call back. When he does, he has no idea what was in the review from the first guy. So basically he just gave me prices for various types of work that I may or may not want to do. He had no idea that we even have two fireplaces - I had to remind him of that. I said "I'd just like to know what it will cost to get these fireplaces insurable." He didn't seem able to tell me that. He even told me that I needed a liner in the chimney, even though the first guy told me I don't. Consequently I didn't get them to do work. Six months later, the owner called me and asked why I changed my mind. I told him all this and that I'd be hiring someone else.

When I phoned Top Hat they were very friendly and arranged for Greg White to come and sweep the Chimney. When he arrived he was very personable and happy to answer my questions (I was new to owning a fireplace). Upon inspection there was a squirrels nest in the chimney - Greg dealt with this no problem and capped the chimney to avoid the problem recurring. When the work was done the fireplace was left looking immaculate and there was absolutely no mess whatsoever. Great Job, thanks Greg, I'll be giving you a call next year for sure.

Al came by on time, and did a great job. My place was left clean. I have never had a fireplace before, so the tips Al gave me was very much appreciated. I would use this company again.
