Duct Cleaning

I highly recommend this company. The men were on time, thorough, fast and respectful. They noted and proved that the last cleaner did not clean the intake ducts; had positioned the vacuum in the wrong place requiring two cuts in my ducts instead of one; and that one of the returns had been disconnected during the furnace upgrade we had 25 years ago. Unlike the previous company, what ever cuts they made to the venting they plugged and taped to prevent air leaks. The best part is they did a good job for half the price quoted by my gas provider, and contrary to other opinions, recommend cleaning my ducts only once every 2 to 3 years as opposed to once a year. There was a strong smell for the rest of the day from the cleaning product they used, but it was well worth it to have peace of mind knowing the job was done right. Thanks guys. Sincerely, Bev.

    duct cleaning

update added below... Happy to come back and rate this company. These guys were friendly and professional, did a great job and were more than $250 less than Direct Energy for the same service. I stuck my head in my cold air return and checked it out with a flashlight and I fail to see how DE could have provided $250 more value. ****************** A couple of days after my cleaning I noticed a blanket of dark black dust under one of the vents in my bathroom. I left it there and called Topline to come and take a look. They showed up and said this was just from the dust that may have accumulated on the register itself. He took the register off and cleaned it, put it back and assured me it was clean. I put some register filters on this vent and waited. A couple of days later the filter is getting black. I called Topline to advise that the vent is still dirty and wanted to give them a chance to come back and clean it properly. They advised that it is clean and that the problem is just that my house is very old and the vents were never cleaned. They advised just to change the filters 3 or 4 more times and if it's stil happening to give a call. The next day after my cleaning I was feeling a congestion in my sinus and lungs and I don't even sleep in that room! My wife had a headache, runny nose and sore throat. My son had a sore throat. Now about a week later my 5 month old daughter has a runny nose and can't breath through her nose. The scary part is that is HER ROOM!! A layer of Black dust has settled on everything in her room. We washed her blankets and have vaccumed her carpet numerous times so hopefully we got most of it out. But unfortunately we can't take the dust out of her! With 80-90 year old house which undoubtedly had lead paint on the walls at one point, who knows what is in that dust -AND IN MY FAMILY! They're good guys, and a problem like this could have happend to any company (assuming they really even tried to clean that vent at all which I'm still unsure of), but it's all how you handle it when problems occur -and for that they receive a failing grade. Looks like I should have spent another 250 bucks and gone somewhere else. *************FINAL UPDATE******************* After my update the guys decided to come back today and clean it again. They powered up the vacuum and went to work on the trouble spot. I got a bit dismayed that they didn't bother to close off all the other registers as they had done the first time thus ensuring that there was maximum suction for the trouble spot. I pleaded and so they closed them and tried again. I watched closely and I discovered that the suction at the trouble spot was very low -lower than the other areas. This is most likely the reason for the dirt remaining in this section of pipe. Being an old house (which they reminded me of 10 times) it likely has many holes in the duct work. It turns out it has more to do with my old leaky ducts than doing a poor job. ...but there were things they could have done to improve suction on this spot and I wish they would have either known how or been more willing to do it. As an exmaple they could have not only taped the other registers, but they could have adjusted the main damper so as to direct all of the suction to the proper area ...something I suggested. They're good guys and I'd recommend them to anyone with a new and straight forward duct system -anything that doesn't require problem solving.

    Entire house duct cleaning

My 35 yr old home underwent some serious renovations, including resanding of some hardwood floors. Along with a new baby along the way, I was quite concerned about the dust in my air ducts. I called Top Line early am and they gave me a quote over the phone, and if I had decided to do the entire home cleaning package (i.e furnace coils, A/C, central vac) then there would be an additional discount. They also offered to come the same day, since they were doing another home in the area.

Their team consisted of one senior member, and 2 other assistants (the senior fellow was directing the others). Unlike the previous duct cleaning I had with another company in my previous home, Top Line pre-taped all of the ducts with a theory of blocking air flow only to the desired duct to maximize suction (and also to prevent dust from flying out). Whether it works or not, I'm not sure, but at least it's extra effort I don't mind having. I also noticed later on that there were some additional plastic plugs in the basement duct work near the furnace that didn't seem to be there before... I assume it's for easy access to the ducts for future cleanings (no one mentioned about it to me). They spent a total of 1.5 hrs on my 3000 sq ft home, and tested all equipment was in proper working order before leaving.

Overall very happy with their service, price wise seems to be standard amongst all the companies with a slight discount if you have more cleaned. My neighbor also decided to go with them as well, after seeing them do my home.

Duct cleaning, furnace cleaning and air conditioner cleaning

Top Line Air Duct Cleaning was great. The team of two were very respectful of our house. Small things like removing their shoes without asking was much appreciated. They explained in great detail how they cleaned the ducts from top to bottom. I was very happy with the work and how fast they performed their job. They are recommended vendors.

    Duct & furnace cleaning

We just moved into a new house and called Top Line to clean our ducts based on the reviews we had seen on Home Stars. We were quoted $200 dollars over the phone and an appointment was made. On the day, they called and said they running ahead of schedule and they would be there in an hour. They showed up when they said, and the "lead" guy was nice enough, explaining what they were going to do. They take high pressure air and blast the dirt from the ducts to a large vacuum hose hose hooked up to the furnace. After they had cleaned the ducts, the guy recommended a "deluxe furnace cleaning" for an additional $150.00 and a "air conditioning coil" cleaning for $90.00 more. I watched them clean the furnace and the air conditioning coil, and I felt it wasn't worth the money. N.B. After reading our review, the manager of Top Line called us to discuss our review and find out what exactly our concerns were. He offered, without being asked, to refund us $240.00 for the cost of the air conditioning coil and furnace cleaning. He showed up the same night, and gave us cash, with an apology.

    Duct cleaning

We hired TopLine to clean my ducts and air-conditioner. The cleaners arrived early. They explained what they were going to do. They also explained that our previous duct cleaning jobs (by some other companies) weren't conducted thoroughly.

    Duct and Furnace Cleaning

After calling Shawn, he gave me an appointment the very next day. The two guys were professional and did a good job. I had previously done a duct cleaning few years ago but as Shawn pointed out that they had done a shoddy job as at that time the hose was only hooked up to the vent duct and not the air return ducts. So the air return was never cleaned. Top Line cleaned the complete system including the furnace and Air conditioner coil.

    Duct Cleaning

My wife and I are in the final stages of our reno in Don Mills. We selected Top Line based largely on the reviews on this site and we weren't disappointed. The company sent the crew to our team at a time and date that worked best with our schedules (and the schedules of the other trades who were finishing up their work). In our case, this meant a Sunday morning time slot. They showed up on time, they were courteous, and very thorough. I had them clean the air conditioning and furnace after an inspection found them to be very dirty (not surprising considering the reno). Though this was an added cost, I never felt that I was being pressured or 'upsold' for something that I didn't need. They also gave me tips on buying filters for my furnace as the previous owners had not installed them correctly - basic information, but, as a new home owner, I appreciated it. Having dealt with a number of frustrating experiences with this reno, my dealings with Top Line were a welcome change. Quick, easy, high quality service. Based on our experiences, my parents will be using Top Line for their duct cleaning as well.
