    weed control

Clearly, this company is doing something wrong - they have a 1.8 rating on this site, and an "F" on the BBB site. They need to manage customer expectations better, and they need to point out clearly what they can - and cannot - do for your yard. Foolishly, the Province of Ontario outlawed the use of 2,4-d last year. This is the most effective treatment for weeds. Ontario is the only jurisdiction in North America that has done this. Ther is no science behind this ban. Blame the latte yuppies in Toronto for this. My M.P. was uncooperative when I griped about this. His reply: Science? What science? As a measure of the silliness of this, farmers are still allowed to use the product. Question: If it is so harmful, why do the commercial growers continue to use it? I don't think it is possible to keep your yard weed-free as easily as you want it to be. If they were to do this, it would be at a price you would not be willing to pay. My yard sucks this year. I have decided that I should assume that the company will kill some, and I will have to do the rest. I have called them out twice already. The results were unsatisfactory. I have already spent $40 and three hours app;ying Weed-B-Gon. Their Rep and I got into an argument about their service. I wish he would have been honest enough to say what I have just said here. If you can't keep the weeds under control, just say so. Meanwhile - use some name other than Weed-Man. How about "Lots of Weeds, Man?" I'll probably try someone different next year. However, given the economics of the situation, I don't expect that the results will be much different.

    Impossible to Discontinue Service

We tried to discontinue our service after the first package we agreed to was paid and ran out. The Weed Man continued to show up and bill us for more service. We called several times to cancel (speaking to a live person), but are now getting sent to a collection agency for services we never agreed to. Don't use The Weed Man. It is impossible to stop service!

    Unwanted Sevice, Weedman Scarborough

In August 2010, I canceled (in writing) my contract with Weedman. I made it very clear that I was very dissatisfied with the service. In fact, I had already paid for the remainder of the season, but did not want Weedman back on my property. The product they used was completely ineffective. We had weeds that grew over 4 feet tall in some areas of our lawn. On April 13, 2011, I came home to discover Weedman applied fertilizer on our lawn and left a invoice for $60. I called the Scarborough office immediately to complain, as I did not request or authorize this service. The office confirmed that I did cancel my service last year, but I was told that Weedman is a "continuous service" company and I neglected to cancel my service for 2011. Obviously, Weedman did not understand that I am a "continuous canceled" customer. I refuse to pay this invoice, and will not be victimized by this unethical business practice. I recommend that you never get involved with this company.

taking money away from the customer

I was with the weed man last year. I did not sign up for this year. However, last week, I got an invoice for the service that I did not ask. I called them and the rep. saying that they called my home and got a consent. I asked them a proof for my consent, they couldn't provide me one. The rep said that manger would contact me. Hanve't heard anything from them. I found that CTV winnipeg actually covered this story about automatic renewal. I guess the new coverage was not enough for the company to change their way of charging customer without any notice. If you are with the weed man this year, please make sure you cancel the service before it gets renewed automatically. If you are looking for a company, never start with the weed man. The weed man actually force customers to pay without a proper consent. WE gotta make our voice to be heard. - send your story to local newspaper and news center!!!!

    lawn revival

Our entire front and back lawn was in terrible condition two years ago. Weeds and thatch everywhere, poor drainage, and uneven colour and just plain lackluster!. Last year, Paul presented a proposal to de-thatch, aereate, reset irrigation and control weeds with government approved organic pesticide. By the end of last summer our lawn looked better than ever! Green, healthy and virtually weedless!!! His diligence and concern are exemplary. He stopped by many times after each procedure "just to see how things looked" . His dedication to his clients is a standard that few companies could match. Finally we have a fabulous lawn!

    lawn weed and feed service

Beware signing up. Your contract is on a continous basis. Even if you haven't paid for the season, they still show up and expect to be paid. I had to call them and request that they come out and spray the weeds that were popping up like crazy. After they came it was o.k. for a while but the weeds still came back. I can do better myself with weed control from Costco and a lot cheaper.

    Answer from pro:

Weeds are a contact treatment and they spread from other lawns and other areas. If the weeds do come back up please contact our office for a no charge reapplication. When maintaining your own lawn there is no guarantee if you have any concerns please always contact our office and we will always be happy to help.

    Unwanted Service

I just asked a quotation for weed control service over the phone a week ago and today weedman showed up doing a fertilizer job with a $66.09 bill. I contacted them right away and the lady said she can put my account on hold but I have to pay the bill anyway. How can they ask me to pay for a service which I never order from them? Plus, my backyard is always locked from inside, so it is impossible for them to do any job in the backyard, but the bill quotes job is done for my entire lawn. I should have read other person's posts about weedman before calling them for a quote.

    Lawn care

Weed Man had promised they would have the lawn looking great and that grass would be growing everywhere if I were to get their full package. I signed up for it and the lawn didn't look any better at the end of the year then it did at the beginning of the year. They said they would guarantee it. That didn't work out to be a true claim as such.

    weed treatment

They did a very poor treatment, they said they guaranteed their service however, they did not do a follow up treatment. After I complained about their service and expressed my dissatisfaction, they still charged me! I did not pay, and canceled my service, reminding them that they promised satisfaction or no charge. I don't recommend this particular service as I spoke to neighbors who complained of similarly poor experiences. That is all
